Just like GTA IV bored me to death, but each to their own ;) It's amazing how we're both posting from hell!
I can see GTA V panning out, to be either equal or better than RDR. But like I said how can we tell at this moment in time.

I hope it is an European or Asian city.
Tokyo would be good.

One of the best things about GTA is when you stumble across a ridiculous gap/cliff/launch that wasn't intended so it's not cinematic. I want more environment like that.

I'm posting from hell? Well if hell has frozen over, it's snowing like crazy here!

GTA will never be out of the USA.

That's the point of the franchise.

This man speaks the truth. Those of you getting your hopes up for Luxemburg and Kyoto will be disappointed.

If it's back in Los Santos, then maybe, MAYBE a little piece of Mexico.

It won't be as good as Red Dead Redemption :(

Take solace in the fact that Rockstar North have been working on this since GTA IV (at some degree). As well as Rockstar's amazing output this gen, I'm extremely excited.

I loved GTA IV's iteration of Liberty City.

Grand Theft Auto IV was my first GTA game, and I really enjoyed the realistic aspects of it. With that in mind, do you guys think I'll enjoy San Andreas?

Oh, and are there any recommended mods for SA on PC?
you should absolutely play it. it may not be as grounded as GTA4 but the gameplay itself feels much more pick up and play and accessible. its also the most fun and action and content packed installment in the series.

Considering that in development terms they released GTA3, VC and SA in the same amount of time they've had between GTA4 and 5 i'm going to guess that GTAV city will actually be closer to a continent size. Maybe half of North America size in relative terms. That's the only major wow factor i could see this game pulling off in terms of scope.

What are you going to do in a game that big? (if we for a second even consider this feasible, which it's not).

I don't think building bigger is necessarily a great idea. Perhaps being able to go into more buildings, would be good. I'd like to see more people going to work and changing shifts. I'd like to keep my money in a bank and be able to rob it.

Yea, not going into most buildings made Liberty City feel dead to me.

Making the city alive would be a huge step in the right direction.

I have been debating this back and forth and want it to be for next gen systems but I can't help wanting it around April of next year. I think they have been working on it for quite some time..we will see.

I'd guess holiday 2012 is more likely.

its probably hollywood and i expect a summer 2012 release. gta needs its own window of release.

We're going to get another GTA 4 if that happens. All the focus on the tech and learning new systems at the expense of fun.

That is the safe bet, but they did launch GTA IV in April. I think they are far along but who knows really. Rockstar has always been unconventional with release dates plus if they release next spring there will be less competition.

Typical marketing cycle = 9 months = August.

Typical Rockstar development cycle = delays = October.

Please never make video games. :jnc

I want to see a GTA in a small rural town.... Yeah, it's not going to happen, but imagine the Dukes of Hazzard style jumps, and crashing through barns, and police chases through empty country roads. Plus, the less populated landscape could allow for a lot of detail. Every building could have interiors.

Yeah, this game will probably be an update to San Andreas or Vice City. Each of which would be cool.

Except with their own game, MP3.

Started replaying IV (first time on PC). Still really liking it. My favorite of the series. I love the idea of multiple playable characters, the Episodes took IV to another level, and their shorter narrative length was an improvement over the main game. Not to mention the implementation of a better mission restart and checkpoint system.

I fully expect to love V.

This also means a higher probability that the original 3d GTA trilogy will get an HD release on current consoles!
I'd be happy with them updating the PC versions with better controller support.
I've never been able to get used to playing them with mouse/kb controls.

God, this is so frustrating. I just went back and tried to play the PC version of Vice City, but it's just not the same. I don't know why they can't just update those games to support the Xbox 360 PC controller. I would be a happy man if they did, but I doubt it will happen at this point in time.

I just want to see them mix it up with a female protagonist.

Sure, it would be weird picking up gigolos and relationships with guys, but they need something to change the narrative.

And if the game is set in Hollywood (Vinewood), they should give the player diverse locals to traverse.

I'm calling it now:

New Mexico/Mexico.

Think Breaking Bad. Drugs. Desert roads.

This would be awesome.
That would be pretty intense. Heck, stretch it up from Cali down to New Mexico and the border. Skip Arizona.

Though I'd still kill for a mini-Europe.

I expect co-op, and more wild stuff a la Gay Tony. They won't hold back on the more crazy stuff of GTA:SA, it will just be better delivered.

And co-op is likely IMO because it would just add to the crazy/fun factor. GTA has always been all about those "OMG lol" emergent gameplay. Adding co-op just amplifies that.

That would be super awesome but I don't think they dare.

Also, I hope a kind mod will restore you to full member status at some point. Your infraction was minor.
