lol this looks trash. The entire time I kept thinking. Wait is this another tomb raider 90s game remaster, why does it look like this. Then they flash to the cutscene which would look good then back to the gameplay and it looked trash again.
Literally I kid you not before the title screen and the release date came up I thought they were doing some sort of promotional flashback. Where the cutscene talking was the new game and the gameplay was the remaster of an old game they were promoting.
I tried to warn you ppl about ue5 and open world. Looks worse than rise of tomb raider and shadow of the tomb raider

They don't modernize their engines fast enough, they are stuck in PS4 specs. Seems like budgets are too low to create games AND upgrade engines at the same time. UE5 is one generation ahead than most of them.
Looking current gen, and it's not even close.

most of these games are being made by like 20 devs in their moms basements.
insomniac charges $200-300 million per games. they have 500 devs. its the engine.

I don't see looking current gen as a compliment.
looking current gen to me says that the game is low resolution, full of temporally unstable smearing, and requiring 10x the GPU power to deliver something that looks artistically worse than last gen games

You forget that you can run those games with great IQ on PC (and possibly on Pro).
UE5 games are one gen ahead of best looking PS4 games, even with some lumen artifacts.

the moment I see UE5, my interest in a game goes down dramatically until I see proof of it not negatively affecting the visuals.

But why can`t Billion and even Trillion dollar corporations like Sony or MS not produce at least one in-house engine that`s on par.....or at least in the same ballpark when even an Ubisoft can......

Also this is Xbox 360 graphics it's going up against btw. And I'm the one who's supposed to be impressed by lackluster graphics. The game can't even convincingly clear X360 game graphics.
