GRAW! Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter Dated (Febuary 2006)

Today Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, is pleased to announce that it has decided to devote additional time to perfect the next installment in its award-winning squad-based military shooter, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™. The game will launch worldwide for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft in February 2006. The additional time devoted to the development of this title will allow Ubisoft to offer gamers the best episode ever of the award-winning Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon franchise and will enable the game’s development teams to optimize the application of Xbox 360™ technology. The delay of the release date will not impact Ubisoft’s revenue forecasts for the fiscal year.

At the X05 event in Amsterdam earlier this week, Ubisoft astounded attendees with playable single- and multi-player demonstrations of the thrilling new title. Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ was extremely well received by event participants, and Ubisoft expects the game to quickly become a blockbuster title.

“In Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™, players will be able to truly immerse themselves as soldiers of the future,” said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubisoft North America. “This game will continue the tradition of setting the bar for intense multiplayer action and cutting-edge technology. X05 attendees experienced the stunning results of the work Ubisoft’s award-winning studios have done in perfecting innovative multiplayer content and taking advantage of next-generation capabilities.”

God dammit, that was the only launch game I was going to get! Fuck! Now I have a 360 with no games. I guess i'll have to pick a new one.

good. too many good games at launch already, and this definitely could use some extra time it seems

GRAW=YAWN

Sad to see that one of the Xbox leading supporters has shit for launch, unless you count a spit shined version of King Kong. Depressing.

disappointed :(

I will have to get PDZ out of a perverted sense of masochism. But then I could have gotten GRAW, as it isn't a simple FPS.

But now, are COD2 and PDZ too close in gameplay? If so, I'm just looking at PDZ and PGR3....

I'm glad they're delaying it, and more developers should follow suit. There are too many 360 titles that look undercooked that are being rushed out the door.

i think a delay is really good for this game (and for our wallets). the launch already has too many great titles anyhow. now they can polish this up and we can have something to look forward to come february. not to mention a break for our ever depleting funds. :)

IAWTP 100% Look at the impressions, it seems the game still needs a bit of work. I for one don't mind because just as those launch titles are getting stale and we're ready for some new hotness, GRAW will rock our balls for another few months.

Yeah, I got the same pressrelease. I think it will benefit from a few more months in development. I didn't look too hot at X05.

isn't Gears of War's projected release date = March?

so...

Feb = Ghost Recon 3
March = Gears of War
Spring = Splinter Cell?

no game drought for x360...seems so

This is probably our (the outspoken consumer) that bashed some of the new screens and videos that did nto live up to our expectations. I do not mind it getting moved it will probably sell better later on than at launch.
