lemmings died the day it left the amiga.

Not to mention playing lemmings without a mouse is like typing with your feet.

Nice screens though.

^^^Well maybe not that bad

But surely the controls will let this down. The second you have to move quickly across the screen you are screwed.

Sure it would work better with a mouse...but it worked on consoles back then, and you can always pause the game.

You can probably scroll the screen left and right with L and R.
Should make it easier. Still, without that, the snes version gave me a good time.

I wish they'd at least acknowledge Lemmings 2: The Tribes at some point. It at least gave you the ability to move onto new maps without having to complete the one before it. It was still pretty hard, too.

Still, looks great. Are the maps shown in the new images NEW maps, or ones from the original Lemmings with some flair?

Why oh why do people fucking care about image compression?

Uhh.... because it makes an image that would usually be very clean and sharp into something that is blurry and filled with artifacting?

A pause button should eliminate those problems.

I've played through every single last level in the SNES version, and even with the choppy scrolling, it wasn't that difficult to play.

That's the $40+ import question... if they're the same maps as the 1991 Amiga original... well, I beat that game once already. :)

Yeah, that game rocked. It was very playable and the music was godly.

It looks great and it's coming in less than 30 days. I do wonder about its sales potential - original Lemmings were huge.

I really appreciate the trend among PSP games to accomodate user-created content via built-in editors. I hope it continues.

It's the for the PSP, you shouldn't really care THAT much about graphic quality of a image capture.

The Lynx version was awesome, seriously.

The screen size is no concern. The Lynx version had scroll during pause and it worked perfectly.

Hell, the original Amiga, ST, and PC versions were only 320x200.

Why not? With pretty 2D graphics like this, it's a crime to be destroyed with such heavy compression.

The snes version has a permanent place on my 32mb memory stick. I don't have a problem with non mouse/stylus controls but the snes version is the only one I ever owned. I can't wait for this version it looks nice and the widescreen looks handy.

What?

PSP direct buffer screencaps even have the advantage that anyone can easily put them on PSP itself to see what the game will look like on it's screen. When they are crappiefied like this it's pointless.

This game would be PERFECT for a stylus control type.. :(

I WANT LEMMINGS ON DS DAMNIT

It's already been announced, hasn't it? We've even seen screens. Looks exactly like this, sans widescreen.

Widescreens gonna be difficult too. You'll have to scroll up and down.
Probably not. Vertical resolution on PSP is higher than the resolution used for original Lemmings. Widescreen aspect will just make you scroll less horizontally.

Why do the new screens look all zoomed in? The old ones looked nicer. Are they fake? I don't see how they fit on the PSP screen.

The wider ones show the whole level. You'll have to scroll to see the whole thing on the real console.

The real short ones appear to be cropped at the top.

The ones at 480x272, kind of in-between the superwide and the top-cropped, should be accurate.
