The best was when they would go after Crash Holly's hardcore belt.

I almost wish the WWE would bring back the Hardcore title and have it so it could be taken at any time...

semi off topic this thread reminded me of when Crash and Hardore brought the scale with them to the ring and had the super heavyweight challenge

Made main event stars of Orton and Bastista, and made HHH likeable again.

:lol :lol :lol Actually to be fair, I did like HHH when he turned heel (he's even more annoying as a face). But that went away in a few weeks.

And seriously, in terms of pure wrestling talent, who could touch the Hart Foundation? Bret's as good as there's ever been, Owen combined excellent mat wrestling with ariel moves, Bulldog was a force in his prime, and Anvil was strong as an ox (never saw Pillman wrestle much, so I have no idea how good he was or could've been).

And the way they were able to be full on heels in the US while being major faces up here was revolutionary, the effects of which have been felt in both WCW (before they folded) and the WWE to this very day. Christ, WWE reworks their scripts and angles whenever they come up here, to hilarious results.

I loved Pillman, he was just fun and was the innovator of unpredictable wrestler gimmick. Plus we was a fairly decent wrestler if I recall correctly.

Yeah the Hart Foundation is perhaps the best all around. I want to say Four Horesmen in all seriousness, but there's just been too many dud members over the years.

That why I kept it to the ORIGINAL Four Horseman. =) If you want to include dud members, nWo would be way out of the running. Brain Pillman was a Horseman as well, so not sure why that's counted for the Harts and not the Horsemen. Lugar was a Horseman (when he was passable) and in nWo (when he sucked cock). Advantage: Horseman. Harts has Niedhart while Horseman had Ole: That's a push I guess, but Ole was a much better wrestler than Niedhart ever was, but people don't remember that far back. Bulldog was a Lugar type.

So, if you go Harts vs. Original Horseman, you got Ric Flair vs. Bret Hart. Tully or Arn vs. Owen. Arn or Tully vs. Bulldog. And Ole vs. Niedhart. Pillman is a push. As for what they did for the promotions... Horsemen wins in a LANDSLIDE during their respective times. lol Can't go wrong with either.

I guess I'm just a Horseman mark. In their primes, any of them (sans Ole) would carry a main event in any big event they had. Ric Flair's status is undeniable as is Bret's, but Flair is a notch above. Harts could do it too, but only with Bret and Owen. Jim and Bulldog needed carrying like, everywhere. Pillman was interesting in each stable, but wasn't something people would pay to see in main event matches.

The Dudley Family easily.

Buh Buh Ray, D-Von, Spike, Sign Guy, Gertner...

Don't forget the man that last night... impregnated your mothers.... BIG DICK DUDLEY! :lol

I'd have to say the nWo just for the impact they had. The Horsemen are legends no doubt. I was a big fan during the Flair, Anderson, Blanchard and Barry Windham era. And the Hart Foundation were awesome too. But the nWo changed wrestling. I still see people sporting their t-shirts.

Don't mess with Pete Gas of the MEAN STREET POSSE! :lol :lol :lol
Wasn't his trademark move called something like the GAS MASK?!

:lol :lol :lol

There's originality right there for you folks...

Wow. Well into the second page of the thread and yet no mention of the Heenan Family. Sure, they weren't the best, but practically every other stable (even lesser ones) have been mentioned already.

Shoot it's the "Los Boriquas" or however it's spelt. When I was younger I loved them, eventhough they never won anything.

Anyone remember the silly feud that was going on between the Boriquas, DOA, and the Nation of Domination?

:lol they even let Virgil in!

I saw Virgil at Sam's Club once.

I thought it was Cleavon Little from Blazing Saddles :lol :lol

Then I found out Cleavon Little had died 3 years earlier!! :lol :lol :lol

He was really cool, though. Except for the fact that he was charging $5 for a fucking autograph. It was for Children's Hospital, but still...

Anyways...

What about Crush, Tatanka, and Yokozuna?

or these guys:

This was a good post. I've never seen any of that old NWA stuff, but those who have always rave about the Horsemen of old.

I remember when Bret went to WCW, I was hoping there would be a Hart Foundation/Four Horsemen fued. Alas the WWF/E had the trademark on the Hart Foundation name, something that never made much sense to me. And it wouldn't have been as cool without Owen anyway.
