Green Man Gaming Thread: Save some green, man

Sorry if this has already been covered but I preordered BF3 after it was put on GMG but before it was made UK-only (I'm in Australia). Do I still get it? Any problems with trying to activate it (I don't have a key yet).

also do I use the install capsule or origin (or both)?

You will. In fact, your key should be available now. Log in and check the 'keys' section. Should be in there.
 
Ordered LotR War in the North off GMG the other day for 37 bucks. Easily the best price I've found online, including the CD-key sites which seem to sell it for 40+.
 
I pre-ordered Renegade Ops in July. After all the nonsense that has surrounded that game I requested a refund towards the end of September. They refunded me $7.50 store credit, but what I really want is the $5 paypal. They keep telling me they've refunded me, but it has never shown up in my paypal account. They've asked for screenshots of my paypal account to prove I have not received my money (which I provided). They just told me to initiate a paypal dispute, but you can only initiate a dispute within 45 days from the charge and it is well past that time frame.

So far they've been polite and cordial although it is usually several days between responses from them. I believe them when they say there is an issue with paypal here, but never the less it has now almost been a month since I requested my refund and still have not received it.

I'm not sure why I keep pursuing this, it's only $5. But I don't know, it just irks me.

Amusingly enough, apparently the game is coming out today.

No, it's a virus that steals all your personal information. We just use them because they have good prices.

The Capsule program is safe :) Although it can provide an occasional false positive on anti-virus software, which I've told our tech team about.

@Coopolon, it sounds like a sucky situation but I don't think I'd be able to help you any better than CS at this point :/ I can try to bring it up but I don't know what kind of a resolution could be made.

So with november inching closer is there any update on Saints Row 3 appearing soon? I saw Amazon had it for $40 but I know if it comes here it will be cheaper, and I have credit too.

@Derrick I honestly couldn't say! All I can say is to keep tabs on us. ;)

Also to let you guys know that our price has been dubbed Criminally insane for Batman: Arkham City - the Riddler has been confusing us all day with his riddles and may persuade us to hand out prizes on social media soon! Definitely worth keeping an eye on that too ;)

I'm trying to buy games on GMG - but whenever I checkout with paypal my order is empty and I get charged nothing.

Does anyone else have this problem? It's specifically a GMG issues, I use paypal for everything else as well with no issues.
 
Every time I come into this thread I see the Americans are happy about the cheap pre-orders then I go onto the site and it is much more expensive in the UK. For example Saints-Row in the UK is £35.79 (almost $60) while in the US it is £25 ($40), it's not like these guys are in the US they are an English site we should be getting the cheap prices too.
 
God dammit GreenMan Gaming. I already bought Saints Row III on Direct2Drive for 38 bucks, now GMG puts it up for 34?

And I can't really cancel the D2D preorder, as they will just give me in-store credit.. damn...

I know it's only 4 bucks, but.... bleh

Fuck, I just realized I already have Arkham City coming on the 18th as well, seriously fuck WB for delaying that game.

lol, Just realized the 18th is the non US date for AC, but the 15th is not better.

Any likelihood of Skyrim being available? I'm in Aus and we get boned everywhere unless I go to a cd key reseller

I had some Paypal issues with them a while back, and it ended up being because my GMG email wasn't the same as my Paypal email.

Sucks if true since I was hoping to get my copy on release.

This game is not available for download yet. It will be on 18-Nov-2011. Any required keys will be made available on that date.

So tempted to pick it up since I still have some unused credit left over. Not a fan of the SR series but SR3 looks a fair bit more polished than previous iterations.

Pre-loading starts on the 11th for the US. Will GMG be offering that as well?

How long did it take for them to cancel your order from D2D? I sent them the e-mail this morning. When did you hear back?

My game release page says November 18th, though...even though I'm in America. Even though it says that, I'll still get a key for it's launch in the US on the 15th?

I wouldn't count on it unless they give out keys early for preloading. GMG is a UK based service
 
D2D canceled my SR3 order (that was quick) and I put one in at GMG for $34! Saved over 13 dollars just like that, which I'm gonna use to buy Dungeon Defenders. Good stuff..

I know, and I remember some North Americans on GAF having similar questions about Dead Island...some were getting the Tuesday, some were saying they'd get keys that Friday....I dunno what happened to that ordeal.

I'll shoot GMG an email, I guess.
