GTA 6 trailer 2 looks incredible, why does it need another year

Im talking about folks pretending to want to see gameplay. Or doing some concern trolling

Your 'facts' can suck it

It's not direct gameplay that we got from the actual gameplay demonstration trailer of GTA V years ago, with the camera behind the character, true that. But I do get what they mean. It would have been so neat though if they did briefly show Jason walking around when he enters the house, because I am willing to bet that it transitions into gameplay at that bit.

They (T2) have multiple sequels of very highly performing franchises, between now and May 2026. Borderlands 4, Mafia: The Old Country, NBA2K25, WWE 2K25 etc, and they do not want GTA 6 to kill the sales of these games during their release months or even a couple of months later.

Well it can.. but it didnt ... I can only work with what I saw. And whats the big problem dont having gameplay ? The game now is one year away.. I dont see a single problem with not showing gameplay now.. but im not some drooling seal fanboy to be clapping and jerking off to a cutscene trailer either

ok.. you thrust them and Ill thrust my eyes ... we will leave at that.
There is gameplay in this GTA V trailer

Literally from gameplay missions, just with a cinematic angle from a non gameplay perspective.

Do you understand now? There is gameplay in this GTA 6 trailer from cinematic angles as well. Its how they shoot their trailers.

Maybe you can trust your eyes and your brain brother.

Yes all cutscenes snippets from real gameplay missions to form a cinematic trailer.... therefore a cutscene trailer just like this one.

Are u guys all idiots?

Have you never seen a Rockstar marketing campaign?

Why do you people keep wanting them to show gameplay when they've literally NEVER done that for a game that's a year out.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills over here.

You didnt hear people crying WHERES MUH GAMEPLAY, ITS CONCERNING

I mean, if you go back, you will see that you did hear people saying that... I don't know if "crying" is fair, but it was there. (Also, GTA4 was out by GTA5, and GTA4 was I believe heavily previewed in traditional coverage in its hype cycle, whereas GTA5 I can't remember when hands-on demos and gameplay screenshots started to come out?)

But sure, Rockstar has a rep for putting the graphics shown in the trailer in the actual gameplay, so they do deserve benefit of the doubt. I would still like to see gameplay though, not necessarily as a doubter, I just want to see how this new game plays.

Fucking trolling bullshit

So when has Rockstar lied and about what exactly? In regards to the a game's visuals?

why so angry? I'm sure it's all part of their marketing too. But before recently, this game was slated for a 2025 release. So they decided internally it wasn't up to scratch to show, so they delayed it?

Not a cutscene ≠ gameplay
They showed nothing that a normal player will be doing in game - unless everyone is reversing the camera to look at themselves as they drive slowly down the street in these games and I just didn't get the memo.

Not really, we were fiending for leaks in the GTA IV neogaf thread though

Yup

I'm a bad NeoGAF poster in leaving the research to somebody else, but I cannot imagine there were not doubters of GTA5, if not just a percentage wanting to see it played for their own happy satisfaction. It'd probably be in here:

Thanks for looking that up, the thread ends when the trailer goes live, but these folks seem happy

Because Sony is prepping their FSR4 implementation for PS5 Pro in 2026.

Sony have therefore paid Rockstar $2bn to delay the release, so that they can fully implement FSR4 on Pro, and then Sony can advertise the game as 60fps only on PS5 Pro.

Also, if you pre-order, you'll be placed into a raffle where Samara Weaving's stunt double will personally deliver the copy of the game to your home.

It's because they knew you'd make this thread and delayed the game literally just to spite you, OP.

Congratulations, you've ruined it for all of us.

How is this even real thread ? Is Op like 12 ? Do they just give gaf account to anybody.. or just a lazy thread.. I wonder how many ps5 pro it's going to sell, I'd imagine all inventory on shelves will be gone on it's release.
GAF has gone downhill with the quality of members. Anyone can easily join now and in some cases the site has become woke with its members. It's not the same GAF as 10 years ago. You used to be able to have a discussion with people who had some level of understanding of the industry and how games work/are developed. Now we just get idiots saying or asking idiotic things with no concept of how anything works.

Bro take a look at the entire internet. The whole fucking thing has gone downhill in the last 10 years.

I disagree with SO much of what some people post here, but I still recognize it as having a higher bar for quality discussions than almost any other game discussion-based site. (Though, try as we might, unfortunately politics seem to creep into conversations far too often.)

But GAF is one of the last bastions of decent asynchronous game discussion. /r/Games used to be decent, but suffers from scale issues that result in having a genuinely good discussion with individuals being almost impossible (and I should know, I created that subreddit).

Go try having any long form asynchronous discussion anywhere else on the internet, like social media platforms. It's fucking abysmal.

And thank you for the assist.

I'm at work, can only read so much, but the percentage of wait-for-gameplay posters seems similar to me. They're there, they have a point, but they're not really prominent or dominant.

(Also, id say this being Trailer 2 is a different thing. It's over a year later for a game initially planned for this year, with still no gameplay info or playtests to go with it, and, to be fair, a visual presentation beyond most everything else in this frustrating gen cycle of dashed hopes and missing wow-factor. Even with Rockstar's rep of delivering on what it promises, it can still be hard to let go of nagging doubts or fears of what this game has not shown us yet.)

So you are confident it has gone gold and is ready to ship based on that trailer?
Huh? I am confident they'll deliver in spades from what was shown. Their history speaks for itself with GTA/RDR series of games. They've always delivered, and in most cases, more polished as well.

They need at least another 3 months to add the microtransactions so you can purchase dolphin armor so you can ride dolphins around the map.

Quality control. Game could be finished, but there's a lot of bugs and shit to clean

Don't let yourself get based on a trailer. Cyberpunk looked amazing in the session that a lot of people were invited, but everything was limited and was a omission of truth. It took a year after launch to have a great play experience

Yeah Facebook groups come to mind as being the worst

Maybe this is why Todd Howard wants to release his games 1 week after showing the trailer.
There are people who think that showing random clips from different cutscenes means the game is ready.
There's no word to describe the level of understanding these people have.

That's not the thread we are in though. This is the 'The game is finished, I can tell from the trailer' thread.
