We need smash bros and pokemon asap, nintendo.
Its going to be cool for people to have GTA on the go. I know a lot of people who will buy the PSP because of this.

Nintendowned. If the PSP launches with a GTA.. oh dear.

P.S. that guy in the top left looks hideos -- I can't even imagine him being from any official art :lol

The artwork on the mockup cover is all GTA3 artwork. I believe the one on the top-left is a generic Triad gangster.

Is it just ''for display'' at Gamestop.com?

AND IT COMES OUT ON 06/01/05

Man oh man... a Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Ridge Racer and a Gran Tursimo 4 on a handheld is going to seriously move some systems.

I put down 50 bones just the other day (which was the minimum Gamestop would take) to reserve my PSP. This thing is like a dream come true for me.

e.

The second one isn't going to sell (it's not Metal Gear Solid), unless of course consumers are incredibly dumb.

any chance we'll get a port of MGS3 for PSP down the line you think? that would rock.

If those dates are real that's pretty soon. I sure hope this really is something like the modern GTAs and not another classic style game. Handheld GTA and Realda are the only thing I'm seriously excited about this year.

All I gotta say is if they port RE4 to that bad boy, and do it JUSTICE? I'm buying one no matter what the price. You might as well call me a Sony whore now if there is a chance of that happening.

Weren't people just complainig about ports on NDS/PSP a few months ago? Now people want ports all of a sudden? :P

p.s. screw ports and remakes

You expect consistency from these clowns? :lol Of course there's nothing to say that this GTA won't be a unique game, but your point still has merit.

So is this a remake or brand new game?

Probably some spin-off in Liberty City, like the GBA game. It won't be a port. We'll see how well can a GBA team (Mobius/Rockstar Leeds) create a 3D free roaming game.

Firstly, I don't think the PSP is powerful enough to run the game like PS2 does and secondly, the UMD might not be able to hold the game at all.

Rockstar has already said that the game is set in Liberty City but has it's own storyline sperate from GTA3. It remains to be seen if it's a 3D free roaming game or a top down view as in the classic GTA games.

BTW, PSP games may or may not cost $50. Sony hasn't announced prices yet, and most people expect them to come in around $40.

Oh come on, two gigs should be fine.

Hell, GTA3 was only 1 GB IIRC. You'd be surprised how much space your PS2 games take. The thing that usually takes up the most space is cinematics (cg, fmv, whatever...not ingame cutscenes)

So Rockstar didn't want this on the Gamecube because the discs were too small... but they're releasing this on the psp which has similar disc space?

Rockstar never said that, they just don't like Nintendo with an obvious reason in their past. But GTA: SA would really not fit on a Gamecube disc anymore.

You're all also forgetting that the PSP has a smaller resolution and hence, they can probably get away with lower resolution textures with less detail, smaller models, and so on. I wouldn't remotely worry about GTA not being able to fit on a UMD, that's just silly. If anything, it might have less radio stations than GTASA but that can be made up by putting the MP3 radio station in the PSP version. ^_^

I'm not sure Sony would even allow this title to be top down. It's a launch or near-launch title which Sony is counting on to sell PSP's. The last thing they want is for casual gamers (who never played the top-down versions) to see the view and think "hey, PSP isn't powerful enough to do full 3D in a GTA game."

I'll laugh if they ported the GBA version....of course they won't, but it'd be damn funny just to see reactions

I agree completely. As much as we all love the top down GTAs, this is going to be pushed as THE PSP killer app. If anything it'll have to be as good as if not surpassing GTA3 in quality. Sony definitely wants to put the point across that the PSP is no less capable than the PS2, hence GT4 Mobile. GTA will be no different because Rockstar North has been a really good supporter of Sony's hardware so far.

I'd rather have the first GTA game unlockable. I was expecting it to be in GTA:SA...plus the game is free on PC, so why the hell not
