Considering whats going on everywhere right now in the "west" with all that censorship and ID verifications.....this might happen, yep.

1. Fuck this online ID verification nonsense
2. I'd love to see this happen to GTA Online players lol
3. Is this a legit source or fake social media outrage?

Assuming this is true...

I would love to see the stats on how many times an individual would get banned only to buy another copy and carry on.

I'll bring my pitchfork but it's mostly symbolic since I wouldn't touch GTA Online regardless.

I don't believe this, because I would say this would be implemented by the service provider like PS or Xbox, not the game.

Draconian government regulation always mask itself as protecting kids or people or some other lie.

I mean, at some point, there will be a massive, inexorable revolt, right?
This is getting silly.

That's illegal. Maybe they can push it in the US, but the EU is out of the question, and so is most of the world.

If this was ever real a huge part of the userbase would be screwed as it's a magnet for little kids they flock like moths to a flame for these kinds of "mature" games.

People at R* aren't stupid, they know more than a half of the GTAO player base are pre-teen edgelords buying expensive shark-cards so they can buy in-game flying bikes to torment evey roaming player in the game

What is the context of this? Looks like its a twitter post with no context or lead up at all. We also don't know what country this is from.
Isn't the UK in some crazy lockdown mode where they have cameras everywhere, and a license/id for breathing?

In the USA this battle was fault years ago, with ersb creation. Have we gone back to that again?

Don't get me wrong, I think kids playing GTA online or GTA at all is crazy. I remember when my son was 10 and dropping him over at a friends house. They had 3 boys all under 12 playing GTA5. Going into strip joints and shooting shit. I told the mom that he can't play that, she didn't get it and threw a fit ( a grown woman, well If you call some trashy single mom a grown woman). Obviously this lady wasn't parenting and letting the machines be her babysitter while she chatted up men online (probably doing OF today, lol).

Luckily my son understood. Why, because I was honest with him on this and most things. I let him know that at some point he could play those games, but that today wasn't the time as there were age innaprporiate stuff for a kid and that his friends mom was being "a bad mom". It also helped that I let him play other games with less adult content, but similar open world. He had the infamous games, lego city undercover on ps3. Plus on PC he had Gary's mod., and soon Minecraft and Roblox. A few years later I let him play GTA, when I though he was mature enough for it.

Seriously what is the solution with shit parents who don't properly parent their kids? It is why you can go into cod or whatnot and some 10 year old is screaming into the mic while rap music is basting in the background, ruining online gaming for all. I am not fond of id giving, but I am in my 40s I could care less if kids can't play gta online. As long as single player doesn't need these checks, but there is the slippery slope....

Imagine someday if all games require this, and then they get hacked so that now you can get doxxed with your real photo for anyone to see

No thanks Rockstar

Simple, anything with that shit I will not buy or use your product, period, no matter what. The world is moving towards a full population control that will fall apart, what matters to these companies is money, as we know.

Anybody taking bets on when the credit history will fully become the equivalent of the social score people hate China so much for? It is on that path IMHO… look at the payment processors and payment provider fun topics lately and see the trends…
China was the proof of concept for everywhere else. It was never intended to just stay in China.

If that means they will include casino games in GTA Online in my country, i would be ok with it, cuz for GTAV Online they removed all casino games from the game blaming my country gambling laws, yet games like Yakuza never had a problem including casino games and prime time TV in my country is filled with ads for online casinos and sports betting sites, so dunno how Rockstar found an issue adding things like Poker in they 18+ game.
Im not sending them a copy of my ID though.

70% of the GTA Online population will be absolutely decimated by this.
And thats not even an exagerated number. Everytime i went into a public lobby in GTA Online was filling with kids screeming and shouting. Reason i spent all my time in GTA Online in private lobbies just for co-op missions.
