GTA: San Andreas confirmed for Xbox 360

It is! People just found the obb files lol

I'm not surprised at all. This version of the game has 'quick Android port' written all over it. But at the cheap price they're selling it at, I guess this shouldn't be unexpected. It's still a serviceable port, just not a great one.

I'm not really bothered by this on the 360 but I would be irked if they replaced the current PC version with this Android port. It would really hurt the nice little modding community that SA has.

I guess with them charging so little for it, it's difficult to complain...

Isn't that the game plan? Save for adding controller support, isn't it going to feature all of the additions and omissions the Android port has? We don't know if the update is going to remove songs lost due to licensing.

I'm not sure. I would assume that it was just a patch to the PC port that makes a few changes/ omissions (some people did get the patch before it was locked), but now I wonder if Rockstar will replace the whole game with the Andoid port running under some compatibility layer. That would suck if true.

I would think the new version would be a seperate game hopefully priced the same as the 360 version. It doesn't make sense to stop selling the old version on Steam if it's just going to be a patch.

I played a little of it at a friend's house earlier. Tracks skipping, audio quality sounded yikes, physics felt weird, and a weird judder. Was hoping it wasn't just the mobile version, but it is :(. Also remember having way more people walking on the streets in the PS2/PC versions.

Definitely gonna go backup my steam copy now, thank god it's one of the few games that doesn't rely on steam drm.

The audio quality is messed up, the pedestrian count was gratly reduced. Rockstar should apologize and patch (lol?) this gme ASAP. This is embarassing.

That seems like it might be the case. The current version of SA has been removed from purchase on Steam and all GTA related compilation packs that included the game have been removed as well.

I can still install and run SA, but you might be right, they may add a new listing for this Android port and completely remove the option to purchase the original PC port altogether.

To be fair, the PS2 version also had horrid audio quality. The rest sounds inexcusable.

Holy shit. From Gamersyde's "The First 6 Minutes" video.

Yikes. Again, what a weird thing this port is, from the random announcement to the overall quality of it.

Yikes, I was literally one click away from buying it but I think I'll skip it. I already own several versions of the game without adding crappy port to the pile.

Apart from the audio disappearing a few times during the cut scenes it's a pretty good game.
I've already had my moneys worth I reckon :)

You should, it's most likely a one day sale.
Regular price is supposed to be $15.

I ate your bucket of (potential) lies and purchased it on a whim. After the event, I'm slightly disgusted with myself as my, normally, logical reasoning failed me and my sole reasons for the purchase were nostalgia and a low, low price. Time to take a shower.

I have been playing the Xbox Original version of SA on the 360 for years now. I just compared the two just now and it was night and day. Very nice to see the game in higher resolution.

Have we been able to confirm that all of these basic visual and textural enhancements are coming to the PC version, or will they have to be relied upon a modder to do? I know someone ported the assets of the mobile versions of III and VC to PC, which apparently are higher quality than the PC versions.

Audio cut out right as Carl starting talking with the cops in the very first intro screen. Can't wait to see how much better this gets.

Subtitles FTW!

I know the packages containing San Andreas were removed from Steam, but it looks like most retailers have also pulled San Andreas and any package containing it. Considering some retailers were selling packs containing GTA 1 and 2 for quite a while after they got pulled from Steam I'm interested to see what's going on with the Steam release.

LCS turns 10 next year and Rockstar recently renewed their "City Stories" trademark. Those are next in line.

I didn't see this until now, but wasn't there a rumor that the studio that's been porting GTA to phones is working on LCS? Granted, it still may not come to PC despite a phone version, so we'll see.

I figured as much, you're pretty on the ball when it comes to issues with footage, but I had to ask...

Man, to think I was even remotely excited for this. To say R* phoned it in would be a gross understatement.

Someone above linked to a video posted in 2010 doing the same thing.

That jerky police car motion during the intro is in both the original Xbox and PC versions of San Andreas iirc.

I specifically remember this. I didn't realize what people were commenting about with that gif, because that's happened in all of the GTAIII games during some scripted driving sequences.
