yeah they always made up a good reason for it being that way too. Bridge explosion damage in GTA3, Hurricane warning shut down bridges in Vice City, I dont remember San Andreas reasoning, i dont think it gave one... GTAIV was because of terrorist threats lol

Yeah, I think the complaints will be mostly centered around the sites that give it perfect scores (of which there are going to be many) because of the backlash that happened with GTA4. It's going to be one of the few review threads that doesn't focus on the low scores.

Everyones savoir Giant Bomb gave it a perfect score too. I thought it was incredible, yeah it lacked some features that SA had, but it still had alot of character.
I think it'll be the most unbearable thread we've had since some of the ones around E3 that made me quit reading this place for a few weeks.
Thankfully it'll just be that one thread at least. I'm hoping the mods keep the OT in line.

Don't purchase the game digitally in a country which treats it's digital customers worse than retail.
Games are marked higher in price on the digital service, re-sale is impossible, you need to pay to download them. Fuck that shit.

I'd never seen this before. Amazing.
I've never really understood the fascination and importance of a review. Personally I don't pay attention to any reviews, not video games, not movies, not resturants. I just don't get it. If you can't make up your mind about something you want through word of mouth, research, or desire, probably shouldn't be buying it in the first place.
Aside from industry incentives for meta scores can anyone explain why a review score is important?

How can you triple dip on a version likely to not exist a pc version is given but next gen console is as likely as a 360 version of san andreas was in 2005

The fact that they were asked about next-gen versions and didn't outright deny that it'd happen probably indicates that it will. And why wouldn't? Both the PS4 and Xbox One are very PC-like, so it's not going to take major resources away from them to do create those ports. It'd be easy money for them. And given that GTAV's budget is likely larger than anything the industry has seen before, I doubt they're interested in turning away money.

Anyone know if the ps store's 75% off sale applies to multiple rockstar games? I want to get la noire, red dead redemption, and midnight club. If they were all 75% off my total would be around 80 bucks, as in 20 bucks a game. As much as I want these games on the pc, I'm guessing rockstar will f everything up again and with 5 layers of drm/viruses to any pc game they release.

Personally, I think that title sounds corny as hell (yes, I know its a San Andreas reference). Thread titles should be short and sweet, "game of the year edition" or "well, you know how it is" are much better.
The review thread will be a nightmare. Lots of baseless moneyhat accusations and oh so hilarious Oscar Worthy jokes. Since that's a brand new joke that isn't worn out at all...

I've seen on a few occasions here on GAF that there's going to be a preload for the game on the PSN store on the 13th. Does anybody have any concrete proof of this? I tried googling just now, but found nothing other than this article from IGN stating specifically that there wouldn't be a preload at all, and of course, there was one for the EU PS store just a few days later.
So, is there or isn't there going to be a preload for the rest of us? I want to download the game onto my HDD, but I don't want to wait a few hours to start playing the game when I can just go to the store and pick up my copy to play immediately.
