Guild Wars 2 Press Beta [Prepurchase Is Live]

Got my confirmation, but I never get into selective closed betas. I always have to cheat and preorder or use some IGN Prime subscription or key giveaway to get into them.
 
Dammit, the minute I started watching the TB Guardian video is when the post about the beta sign up was posted. lol

Now it's busted for me :( Well, there's 48 hours to hit f5 I suppose :D

The simplest way to explain it is you'll happen upon stuff just through exploring or stuff will find its way to you. It's all very organic and requires no formal grouping at all outside of dungeons. See someone and help them out, there's absolutely zero detriments for either of you and you can just form ad hoc groups with people and do things together. Thanks for that. Okay, I get it and that sounds like a pretty good half-way house between solo-ing and sorting out groups.

Excited about this.
 
I just wish the Norn male running animation wasn't so slow. Being big doesn't mean you run in slowmo. I'll definately try out all the races though.
 
After 5 minutes of refreshing the last step I made it. Hope I can get in to this, I'm usually lucky when it comes to betas (except Diablo 3... Screw you Blizzard).

Thanks for the heads up that they did a system spec check. Did it on my home laptop instead of the pc here at work. lol
 
I wonder if we all should have listed Neogaf as our guild. Maybe we'd all get in if they want a pre-existing group of players who are used to coordinating with each other for large-scale encounter or WvW testing... which we're not, but we could lie through our teeth and fake it. Our "Strategy" could just be "okay guys, run all over and appear to act randomly, we'll beat them in the confusion!"

Thats what I did. I listed Neogaf as the guild.

That was the exact scenario I played in my head. If nothing else they will confuse us for some radical LGBT group and just accept everyone.

Mwhehe, I changed my post because I didn't think anyone would get the Brian Eno reference and that particular anagram of "Gaf" is kinda frowned on. Same thing though, but I got to sneak some GAF-isms in there instead.
 
I applied. I'm both really excited but also kind of annoyed. I've never, ever gotten into a closed beta like this, so I can't really expect to get into this one. I was kind of hoping dedicated GW1 players or even pre-orders would get priority.

For those not getting an e-mail just hit the resend notification button on the beta signup page. I waited for 10 min and didn't get anything, hit resend, got it instantly.

During long raid nights in Vanilla WoW, we'd have hour-long conversations using nothing but emotes.
