I am still bummed out that Slayer gets next to nothing in buffs. He gets to do more damage of Bite but damage isnt even a problem for him but I am still going to keep dandying with him in Rev 2.

Dizzy, Faust, Raven gets much more when they were good already. Sin barely got a slap on the wrist.

Yeah, Slayer has been weirdly untouched since Sign. I wonder if he's even the character with the least changes in Rev & Rev 2. I still like Slayer, but would really appreciate if he had gotten another move or two at some point to give him a little more versatility.

I've never played GG but am interested in getting Rev 2. That said, I'm thoroughly confused as to how I'm supposed to buy it on PS3.

All I see is Revelator for $20 and the Rev 2 upgrade for $20. Is it impossible to just buy Rev 2 for $40?

From what I can tell there is no 40 dollar version of rev 2 on ps3

Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 is coming to North America on 5/26/17 as a standalone physical and digital release on the PlayStation®4 system. REV 2 will also be available as a digital upgrade via the PlayStation™ Network for Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- on the PlayStation®4 system and PlayStation®3 system.

Mind you, if you go the rev 1 - rev 2 route you will need to buy dizzy and kum if you didnt get them when they first came out for free

Yeah, unfortunately the only option for PS3 owners is to buy GGXrd Revelator and Rev 2 upgrade package. You'll also need to purchase Dizzy and Kum Haehyun playable character DLCs ($7.99 each) if you want to play as them.

Wasn't Dizzy borderline unplayable before?

Raven got changed to make people use his special trait. It was pretty much ignored before, and he lost jump-cancel 6A.

You are misremembering then. Only Raven is obtainable this way and through ingame credits.

I bought the standalone version for PS4, as I only had Sign before. It gave me the option to import all progress, but I don't know if that was from Sign or Revelator as my previous game was a different region anyway.

Eu has their own patches so it's not 1:1 but you can play online with other people if that's what you ask.

The new items are a fun goofy thing, but probably have no real net impact on how good Faust is as a character, due to the extremely low probability of them being thrown and the debatable merit of most of them. I think they're an interesting wrinkle to his game plan but do not affect his general power level in any meaningful way. I honestly think Slayer's bite buff is more important than Faust's jackpot items (as fun as they may be).

When I click on download to system, it shows 4 bars going across and quickly disappears to the download to my PS4 option again. Also, when I try to access it from the PS4 system it shows that i purchased it, but I have no way to download it and repurchase again. Any suggestions?

The upgrade is activated in your old Rev install. IF you still can't select the new characters restart the console.

I just bought this today, and I'm really gonna give Guilty Gear a good ol' college try. Played a bit of Revelator but I was total garbage. I've gotten a bit better execution-wise since then, so I'm hoping I'll actually be able to get pretty decent with this.

The English voices are always lame and it's a lot of extra investment for a niche product.

You should support localization of fighters, English voices is a very minor feature for this genre. Hell, I always switch to JP if I can.

People here are really underselling Slayer's bite buff, for characters with low stun, bite while having 50% tension is pretty much the end of the round for them, fucking cannibal.

I forgot about the BlazBlue voices.

It seemed like there was an insane amount of unique before and in-match dialogue depending on character matchups.

Wait have you tried booting the game up yet? It looks like Rev 1 all the way until you get to the title screen

English translations altogether are pretty niche for this game, Baiken's intro and outro don't even have subtitles, a dub voice track is definitely too far out there.

This is not meaningful or anything but one of Answer's new equips in M.O.M (Unprecented Knowledge) can let you do ridiculous damage. It's effect is 'increases combo damage relative to the hit counter', which kinda turns damage proration on it's head.

Tried doing one of the higher hit combos I can do easily and ended up reaching 3506 damage. Class 5 B-type characters have the highest HP in the game at 3880 as a reference. I'm sure you can go even further with something like Raven's max excitement burst Getreuer but it might be a pain to set up ha. Besides that, Pot deactivated the poison on him somehow which should have added to it. I appreciate having a mode where you can try all sorts of dumb stuff.

Yeah M.O.M mode is hilarious one of the better single player modes in fighters imo

Just played a bit since getting the upgrade, and that new Story chapter was pretty nice!
It continues to imply/tease things for the next game, which is pretty cool, and some fun moments as well.

I have some difficulties with Baiken's counter timing, but her other moves seem easier to execute than in previous games. Didn't try Answer yet.
