What do you have?I'm in an acoustic phase right now, but there's rarely anything I feel like posting. I guess I could try and start a conversation.
I've seen Bluegrass strings but that's basically the opposite of what I'm looking for.Yes, try 80/20 strings. You could also try getting a set with lighter bass strings. I seem to recall that in the dim recesses of my brain.
I've tried this. It's amazing the difference in sound you can get by doing this.Try varying where you are strumming/picking/plucking all the way from the last frets of the neck to the bridge.
This is actually what I did the minute I got my guitar. I've played Ukulele for a few months before getting a guitar and that's what I liked doing. Within 5 minute I had a big blister on the outside of my thumb. I won't be doing that again. I did pick up some thumb picks that I'm really enjoying since it's similar in motion. Anyone here use them?Try strumming with the flesh of your thumb instead of a pick.
Is this in direct reference to the boominess or just a general thing? Do you not like them?Save your money for something other than a dreadnaught.
I've lowered the action a bit more and gotten a bit better in the past few days so the boominess is less of an issue, and eventually I'll try different strings, but I just got Rocksmith 2014 and a sound hole pickup with a 1/4" coupler I'm going to wait a bit before buying some strings so my wife doesn't kill me.
