holy shit, this is the greatest gundam game i've ever played. one mission i'm slicing people up with a beam saber, the next i find that i can erupting burning finger people. all in my increasingly stupid looking mobile suit. time to grind to get my kampfer so that my life will be complete

I've gotten pretty lucky with drops tonight since I got my game. I got a melee based Gundam with a bunch of 00 Qan[T] parts with Burning Gundam giving me Bakunetsu Burning Finger and Trans-Am with a Sekiha Tenkyoken burst attack. It's OP enough to allow me to fight 4 bounties in one match with no problems.

I've just started, but I have to say -- this is my favorite Gundam game so far. I'm really impressed with the graphics, the framework for the game, the variety, and how well it plays. I mainly got it so my nephew would have someone to co-op with, but I'm loving it.
Bandai Namco would be insane not to release it in the US ... I don't think you have to be familiar with Gundam to enjoy it at all. Everyone would get the whole concept of collecting toy parts to battle in a simulator ... it's just tons of added fan service if you are a Gundam fan.
Just my two cents, anyway.

Just started....I'm liking it a lot already coming from GB2. Feels so good!
Haha -- 3rd mission and the enemy player was a Kampfer team, and I got all the pieces but the core. I was like, "Oh man, I love the 0080 suits -- I want the Kampfer bad, this will be easy! I'll just replay that mission and get the core ..."
Little did I know, that's not how it works lol Literally, I got everything including - the chain mines - except the core.

Took em long enough to put in a proper GBF storyline. At least its good, damned shame its not animated though as the cast is fairly amusing.
In my opinion, it's a much smoother combat game than the Warriors games, with way more customization -- but the core is collecting pieces and creating your own suit. But, I find the combat very enjoyable. It's been a real surprise to me. It's a very polished game.

"Might" be closer to the Gundam Battle series. As you have to switch between your different weapons.
Just watch the gameplay videos faster than an explanation. As you should be able to figure it out from watching considering you have played other titles before.

Yeah usually they have it written with the product what languages are included. Try make sure about that.
As there was an earlier version released with only Chinese in it. Think that came out pretty close to the original JP one and not the April release one which has the localized English in it.
Question regarding this game's performance on Vita.
I hear it dips a bit but is still very playable. Has anyone here tried multiplayer with the vita version? Is that also playable?
I'd much rather play this on a handheld and I have some friends with vita's who might also be interested.

I haven't played multiplayer yet but I can confirm the following:
- The game looks like shit on Vita
- The game runs like shit on the Vita
- The game is portable on the Vita
What this means in practical terms:
- The shaders on the mechs especially in display mode look kinda crappy, almost PSP-ish in detail
- The game has no AA so it's jaggy as fuck everywhere, also makes it look like a PSP game
- The gameplay has bad framerate and sometimes when there's a ton of action happening it feels like frames are being skipped because I really #cantseeshit
- You can play this on the bed or when you're in the toilet, or when you're on a bus or train, good times
- The game looks like shit on Vita

Musha gundam. Not sure which one though? Since I think there are 2 in game. And that spike disc is one of those accessory attachments that gets unlocked later on as you progress in the story.

so i've convinced about 4 other people to buy this game (all of them have copies now) and am working on my latest victim .... NB really should have brought this over instead of that vita only game to die. Any recent news on the dlc besides the "News to come" thing?

Parts have a higher chance to drop with axes or certain sword's triangle attack.
It's best to grind out axes early for the Axe EX Axe Tornado and combo it with the whip's EX blackhole.
Drops also get better quality relative to your build grade(level?), so it's better to just run through story mode early on instead of grinding bounties for parts.
Oh so I should be grinding out Axes and whips? Let me start on that now.

Just ordered the english sub version. Though regardless of how fast it arrives, I'll need to wait at least a week and half before I get to play it since I got it shipped to my home address (I'm moving out of my current apartment once I graduate, so I don't want to risk shipping it here and having it arrive late)

dlc = Unknown but pray for Update only DLC like in GB2
MP = Play on your psn account that has plus... its that simple
Early access to barbatos mech = make a singapore account if you want, but you'll get the mech fairly soon into that you shouldnt bother since its in game anyways.

I love this game so damn much! I enjoy just making stuff even more than I did in GB2. I really wish you could shoot while riding the I. Justice backpack but that would be OP lol.

Yeah all thats needed now is more map variation and a bit more budget for the story mode. Mechanics are great so far with each game

I agree. So far I'm enjoying the story a lot more here, might help that I can actually understand it and that it's very Build Fighters in tone. I hope they keep leaning into that angle, at least for one more game.
Never really heard of this before, nor do I know anything about Gundam, but the pictures and gameplay videos make this look very tempting. Would my lack of Gundam knowledge hurt the core experience at all? Also, is the online any good? If so, is it fairly active? If I were to get this it'd be next month sometime, so I wouldn't want the online to be completely dead.

Generally the enjoyment comes out of building your own franken kit from various mobilesuits in the series. Though the gameplay is solid enough to make someone not as familiar a fan.
No idea about online but in general as with most niche online stuff can expect a dropoff as time passes, so might want to get on while the hype is hot.
Watch gundam build fighters if you can. While its not connected to the game the theme most def is. Esp the kitbash (combining various model kits to make a custom build) is. Plus the first GBF was pretty awesome.
