It has its flaws definitely, but it feels good because it's not like a typical gundam show while at the same time it has the aspects of a gundam show. And I like the characters, they personally felt more to them than your usual fujoshi bait you usually see in Gundam these days.

People talk about Domon Shining Fingering everyone, but he's not actually that invincible. Most of the time he gets schooled on important characters prior to the match. Hell, friggin' Saichi schooled him in their first match.

Maybe you misread what I said but I said I actually wouldn't mind the fights ending with Shining Finger if I thought the fight from beginning to end were actually well done, but I don't. Nothing about majority of the fights are captivating for me. No clue what fujoshi is and I like the characters but again, not really 50 episodes worth...

not familiar with gunpla or sd gundams, but are there ones in real life that can transform?

Yes, many. And yes, transforming is not an easy thing because gunpla are fragile enough without being able to transform as well. It's not like those Power Ranger mecha action figures that transform seemlessly. You actually have to take some of them apart at the joints and piece them together again.

In a lot of ways this series is brilliant on Bandai's part, because they get to do the semi-controversial stuff they want and the customers adore them for it. Bandai gets to have a large number of suits on the show because the fans want all their favorites, but they don't need to resort to plot contrivances in order to introduce kits to sell. Meanwhile fans get the silly battle show that they want and Bandai gets to sell a ton of plastic.

I guess the well's not unlimited, but for once it's gross consumerism that I'm more than happy to participate in.

New episode tonight!

I wonder if the show will poke fun at the rivals like the last show or go full srs

new Ral voice is fine but kinda need getting used to

most of them aren't fights but really banter with some yelling, like reaching out my reason to your reason and some martial arts philo stuff

fujoshi is the female audience who likes yaoi

There's something so weird about Fumina showing up with just a hoodie and a sports bra, even though the swim team is wearing something equally silly.

Also, Yuuma's reaction to the underwater-only strategy was hilarious

Decent episode. I was sad that the team with Bryarlant lost, though. Wonder what Yuki's (that was Yuki, right?) new role is.

I had the same reaction. It would be such a strange coincidence if all their matches can be fought underwater.

"No, it's based on the Re-GZ from Char's Counterattack". lol

I liked the episode, especially the whole
running in space
thing. Freaking cool.
The Winning Gundam looks totally excellent. Does the model itself transform too?
Ugh, this show makes me lose money every time a new episode is on.

Episode 5

Ral new VA is pretty different. WIll take a lot of time to get used.

Okay episode with some character development and showing the probable female Meijin.

Kinda strange talking about this so late, but why doesn't Bandai uplaod 1080p quality versions of their episodes?

The Winning Gundam looks totally excellent. Does the model itself transform too?

Yeah, the kit itself transforms as well.

I'm really going to miss Ral's VA.

It's an apparent difference.

Yeah, I noticed the change immediately as well, even though I thought the change was next episode.

Tournament finally starts! Really excited for the upcoming episodes though I hope Sekai does something else then OHK punches.

Whoa I didn't even recognize him! Had to go back to check but I think you're right.

Episode 5

That was a pretty average episode. Maybe even below average as far as Build Fighters go. The battles weren't very interesting, the rest of the stuff felt like a rehash of the same character stuff we've seen in the last four episodes, and the animation wasn't particularly good either. Oh well. At least the music was still awesome. Lol.

Best part of this was seeing my boy Spiegel win. Sad that it was just a cameo kind of thing, but at least it was there and it didn't lose in the first round. Good enough for me.

Episode 5

Ral is throwing me completely off. Animation was a little weird at times this episode.

Solid nonetheless. Sekai is definitely punching his way to a championship.

Just a thought though. If Sei and Reji fought the new guys who would be their third?

Aila.

That whole team seemed to be mostly close range so if it does pop back up I don't see it lasting very long. Still nice to see the Spiegel though.

That underwater team... so dumb. Just stay away from the water.
Gyanko needs to invest in a bra, yo. She's been grief-eating since the last match. Luckily, she lost it in the next shot set-up, lol. What I'm saying is... inconsistent art.

Not a fan of gimmick teams because then it feels like i'm watching yugioh or beyblade or some crap. It's better if teams just had actual personalities that defined them, not whether or not they like to fight underwater though. Still, an average episode and I agree with everyone else that Ral's new voice is going to take some getting used to.

Art was pretty bad this episode. Very unhype. I hope they're just saving the budget for fights people actually care about.

This was a surprisingly weak episode, even for TRY. I have to hand it to the exceedingly bad artwork.

her new SD unit is support type, and built by herself!

shoots the guy with beam rifle.

sniper rushes off does his own thing.

punching dude punches dudes.

I felt like they were trying to show how much they improved and can coordinate as a team... but I guess not?

I'm actually most annoyed at water team guy showing up in swimgear. That's just really stupid and makes him look like a joke character.

It's okay because Fuma is in her sports thing and Red is in his karate robe. Just so that you don't forget what these characters do.

Eh, honestly this was a throwaway episode. Nothing all that interesting or excting happened. Gyanko was the the only real positive here.

Ral change didn't seem quote as noticeable as i thought but it might be because he had only a few lines in it. It's not as drastic as Iroh after Mako passed away.

Slightly weak episode because it didn't do that much but it did advance the story a little bit. We get a little bit more of Fumina's background, we get to see the team prep for the Prelims and, and it sets up the opponents to come. I really liked that they made the point that Sekai's MA was useless without gravity and I really like the solution he came to in this episode to adapt for it. Glad the team thought it through, lol.

I thought last week's battle looked unusually good so not surprising that the animation this week was...not.

Right off the bat can't say I liked Ral's new voice. Sounds way too serious so far. But it's only been one episode, so we'll see.

Episode 5

Bad episode was bad. Animation was awful, story was plodding in a way that I'm not Try can afford at this point, and fight wasn't even great. At least we got a bit of Fumina's backstory. It's pretty standard, but world fighter lady seems like she could be interesting. Looks like we have to deal with Fumina's awful battle costume for the foreseeable future, so that's disappointing.

At least this episode had some good mecha choices. Stargazer being in there was a great surprise. Who's ever picking the models this season is much better than last season. Re-GZ, Airmaster, Stargazer and Hyaku-Shiki are better than 90% of the suits from last season. Hope they keep it up!

Another gundam from G-Unit series....only to be destroyed by the Free! boys. Nothing too amazing this ep, besides the soundtrack which got me hyped for the battles.

Hyaku-Shiki was in last season for like 30 seconds!
