I wonder what that gundam at the end is. Looks like a weird mix of Astraea and 1.5 gundam. Really hard to tell though.

I really wanna build kits so badly after watching this show

What do you guys think Fumina is lacking, precisely? I'm getting the impression that it's something lame like "you're just relying on Yuuma's 420mlgn0scopez and Sekai's screaming fists".

I think it's the fact that she depends on others rather than relying on her own self.

I want this to happen but that whole bit where she can't control the rifle she rigged up (and the way her sawblade got shut down) makes me think that she's just going to streamline her build to better carry her team.

As for Fumina her flaw is that she focuses on her team so much she's not strong enough for herself. She needs to balance herself when it comes to her team and herself in combat.

Yeah I think this is what it is. Also judging by the spoiler of her suits mid-season upgrade (my guess anyway)
to me it looks like the star winning loses the ability to become a fist for Sekai and extra rifle bit for Yuu, instead transforms into a HG size unit for herself. Won't know for sure until we see it in the show.

Episode 12

Wow, really, really good episode! I wonder what it says about the series when this training arc is already so much more interesting than the tournament which was before it. Lol. The SD battle was sooooooooo good. I love the SD battles in Build Fighters, and this one was done pretty well. The animation in both training matches had some pretty good effects and motion too. Lightning under Tatsuya looked so much cooler than it ever was before. I don't really want to see the results of Sekai "repairing" Build Burning though. Good thing he ran into ~mysterious chick~ before he broke anything. :P

In other news, I got Beargguy-F and Winning Gundam! Only built Babygguy so far, will probably post pics in the Gunpla thread when I make more progress.
Someone also got me a RG Zeta for Christmas, so I look forward to breaking another leg!!!!

Not enough space mainly.

Can't fit them inside your box?

I though her using her original MS was fine but idk... Her entire character is relying on other people and supporting them. It's not necessarily a weakness imo.

dunno man, I think it's definitely a flaw if she's not a legit threat on her own. She's gonna turn into the rajon rondo of gbf at this rate.

Sometimes I wonder if expectations for her were simply too high early on. Seems like every other team has had a scrub or two dragging them down with one star shining more brightly than the others throughout. What'll matter is how she's handled going forward against the best of the best where a team may no longer have any sort of weak link.

Well her rival is a potential future Mejin, so she's gonna have to step up eventually if they plan for that to actually work.

She's already the female Meijin. Kawaguchi is part of the title.

She's not quite referred to as Mejin the 3rd or 4th. Basically she's kinda there but not without the normal succession it doesn't seem like she's quite it.

Seems like she's sort of sharing it the prestige as part of the family but not quite it.

Considering how team based shows work, this is more or less what her weakness is. While supporting her team is great, she's still the weak link and needs to be able to hold her own in a fight to be able to support them. She has the most important role on the team in-universe because she's the mid-range support and the leader/strategist (at least supposedly, lol).

Has she ever managed to leverage the leadership role all that much so far past being club president? Everyone, myself included, had her down as how you've described her but I'm wondering if that's colored perception.. She's demonstrated a high degree of improvisation and adaptability throughout but it feels like she hasn't even acknowledged that about herself to any meaningful degree.

Maybe this is where Lady Kawaguchi's encounter is going to come into play since Fumina's skill ceiling has felt largely unchanged throughout the show, typically taking advantage of a situation in a timely manner. She really needs to start using her head more as there's no shame being the brains behind the brawn. Sekai keeps growing and Meijin Kawaguchi broke Yuuma's level cap but she's been left feeling stagnant.

Episode 12

How is it that this show has finally gotten good? Like, kind of really good. Seems like they're finally introducing characters we should have started seeing 4-5 episodes ago. Oh well. At least it's finally gotten there. World Tournament competition already seem nuts, if we assume both Kawaguchi's are there. Finally the competition is going to seem credible. I imagine the World Tournament is going to be a huge greatest hits of all the last season characters. Can't wait to see nationals and, hopefully eventually, a full arc in the World Tournament.

Master Grade Winning Gundam.

Make it so, Bandai.

God, that sounds so good. The SD version is already a super neat little kit. Surprised how far modern SDs have come. Would love to see a MG Winning just to see what bandai would do with a MG SD kit.

I feel like we won't even get to the World Tournament in this series. They'll have to either compress the Nationals or the World Tournament. Unless they spend entire episodes on battles, but that means budget woes.

I've been wondering about this too. I don't know how long they are going to spend at the training camp but it must be at least another two episodes I would guess. They could easily spend the rest of the season on the Nationals alone. Are they saving the World Tournament for a third season? The way this series continues to sell gunpla kits by the buttload I doubt they are going to end it with only two seasons.

Probably another season, but they may rush through a lot of fights. I don't think that would give them appropriate time to introduce new characters and build up new rivalries for the World Tournament. Or maybe the story just isn't being written to go that far and it'll just end after the Nationals. They may want new characters in the next season for new Gunpla.

Oh right, the first BF didn't have Nationals right, it was straight towards world tournament that contained people from the same nation even.

Another season would explain why their new Gunpla don't look significantly different. Saving the new design for another season, like with 00.

i guess gunpla really grew as a sport/entertainment during the timeskip.

Also, we know the tourney they won is u-19, does that mean the national is as well?

Is this confirmed to be 24-26 episodes or will it run 49 like mostly other Gundam shows? I could see the first 24 the building up of the team going through Nationals and the other half prepping and doing the World Tournament. Also like G Gundam if you think about it

I'm actually getting a bad feeling that they're going to cap off the series with a movie rather than a third season.

Don't really see this getting a movie of any sort honestly. It's a TV show for kids and Gundam fans to encourage them to buy more model kits. It doesn't sell particularly well on its own either. Doesn't make commercial sense to give it more budget and fund extra marketing for a theatrical release. They have Gundam the Origin for the next 2-3 years anyway.
