The problem with this season is team try frauds. Fumina gets a pass because winning is pretty cool. Yuuma and sekai are scrubs. The real heroes of the show are minato sakai and the tryon 3 team. Fuck the writing staff for making them job so hard world unempoyment rates dropped 5% and depriving the viewers of the final battle we deserved. Tryon 3 would have rekt gunpla academy's shit so hard, no matter how many repair bots or gn hax they pulled, super robot sprit would trumph in the end. Atleast thats how it should have been.

If this was Super Robot Build Fighters I would agree, but it's Gundam.
I don't mind Super Robot Spirit but it should be "fuck yeah" Super Robot Spirit and not "fuck off" Super Robot Spirit.
Sekai's brand of Super Robot Spirit gets a hearty "fuck off" from me. Sakai's spirit is definitely the "fuck yeah" kind.

By far, hands down, beyond a shadow of doubt, THE worst thing about this season is Sekai never shutting the fuck up during a fight because he has to scream every damn move he does, dude might as well start saying shit like "JINGEN HOAH SCHOOL: SECRET ART OF TURNING MY HEAD TO LOOK BEHIND ME"
What makes it worse is that he just barely has a handful of moves so he repeats the names of some moves multiple times in a fight, just punch him you jabroni.

In G Gundam they had their named special moves they yelled but they still had plenty of attacks they just did. Sekai barely ever does a non-special-shout-the-name attack, every move he makes is the Jigen Hoah something.

I kind of like Sekai when he's just doing Super Robot stuff like causing ridiculous Phoenixes to appear and Taste the Rainbow Mode Activate.
In fact I think the fight against Junya has all the same problems the fight against the Tryon-3 has (minus the Denial Gundam being about to win). It would've been an amazing fight if Junya had mattered.
The thing that GBFT doesn't get about Super Robot shows is that the biggest and baddest showdowns always mattered. Nobody remembers Kouji Kabuto vs Enbanjuju deru deru because who gives a shit that fight never fucking mattered. Everybody remembers Kouji Kabuto vs Hell King Gordon because Dr. Hell is the motherfucker who ruined Kouji's life. Everybody remembers vs Great General and vs Great Emperor of Darkness because those fights were built up to and had significant consequences.
Master Asia didn't just fall out of thin air to challenge Domon. We didn't hear about Kyouji and the Devil Gundam seconds before Domon fought them. Getter Robo didn't fight Emperor Gore before the Getter team had felt significant emotional trauma at his hands.
But GBFT seems hell-bent on having major emotional battles without the investment necessary to make them matter. We should've been building up to Junya and Sakai all season as much as we have been building up to Wilfrid. Yuuma should've been an active participant in the battle against the Tryon-3, not just a guy who was barely there and somehow won. We should've been shown Sekai's relationship with Junya in more detail over the course of the show.
Instead we wasted two fucking episodes on "I'm so mad I didn't get accepted to Gunpla Gakuen" shitheels and another episode on "WE ARE FROM SCHOOLS WITH NAMES" assholes during Summer Camp and for fuck's sake we spent time watching Team All Zakus.
Man no way. Gundam Build Fighters? Sure. Gundam Build Fighters Try? No way.
Build Fighters Try is a show that like, I dunno, Gundam SEED fans deserve.
I fully endorse this comparison.

It's not really the same but both of them were robbed badly.
Ash had no chance of winning against that broken team of legendary Pokémon no matter how good his team is, in fact it's amazing he managed to take two of them out, which no-one else managed to do against that guy.
Tryon 3 lost against something it should've won against but because of what the plot demanded it had no chance of winning or we can't have our Try Fighters vs. Gunpla Academy final battle

Did some detailing and threw on some top coat to Amazing Red Warrior awhile back. Will probably spend a bit more time doing the metallic bits later when I get back from the states next month. Zaku Amazing will be next up.

I don't know if I'd call it badly paced myself, but it does have this thing where they do a Domon episode, then Chibodee episode, then George episode, Sai episode, Argo episode...then repeat that pattern over and over. It stands out more on rewatch and is kind of annoying at times.
He's their ace!

It does feel like a 26 episode show spread across 50 episodes sometimes. I think it's fortunate that it aired daily instead of weekly when it was first broadcast on cartoon network, because a lot of people wouldn't be as nostalgic for it if they waited a week for 20 minutes of filler before domon fingers an ethnic stereotype.
It's a very rewatchable and binge-able show, though. The high points and manly feels don't get old.

It only happened twice (first 5 then second 5), and I'd argue it actually helps world building and character. We get to know the peculiar 5 characters and their struggle in the next 5, and even then we get info like the DG Cells.
But the stability!
