Welcome to the image light HALO 2 PC matchmaking thread. As most already know, yet cringe to acknowledge, HALO 2 X-Box LIVE (X-Box/360) service has been discontinued as of April 15th, 2009. The only other alternative to play this classic is via the PC Version, which uses the Games for Windows LIVE service.
Common Q&A's (sadly):
Q: Do I need X-Box LIVE Gold to play, like on X-Box?
A: No. The only perks of a gold membership is access to gold servers and a different server browser.
Q: Can I play this on Windows XP?
A: Officially, no. However there are quite a few hacks out there that have been proven to work. A quick search on Google and YouTube should have you up in minutes.
Q: Can I use my original 360 headset to talk?
A: Yes, it plugs into your 360 controller and works in the same manner as 360. You can even cross game/platform chat while logged into HALO 2 PC.
Q: I'm somewhat new to HALO 2, but I'm getting raped! What is going on?
A: This is HALO 2, not dummified Halo 3. Watch these and enjoy the depth.
