I commend Tieno for trying, but the screen shots just aren't that good. It's hard to get them off a video like this. I just finished watching the video about five minutes ago. I must say it looks spectacular. Not Gears of War quality, but I would say it's up there with Lost Planet. The textures still need work and there are some minor things here and there. But the lighting is awesome and the graphics overall are great. Hold judgment until you see the actual 7 min vid, not that YouTube shit.
 
This blows, by the time I get home in 3 hours, the bungie ninjas are going to have killed all of you and I'll only be left with your impressions of the higher res videos instead of seeing them for myself..... :'(

Come you have been here long enough to know no game is safe. I think it looks great but I am more of a SP fan and can't wait to see what it looks like.
 
I just noticed that you can "veto" the map or game hin the pregame lobby by pressing X. So does that mean that if you get enough people in matchmaking to veto a certain gametype or map, matchmaking will select a new one?

Yeah, I'm trying to find sharp frames, but there's a lot of interlacing or something.
 
I would rather him get the most lamest tag EVAR for a day, then get banned.

Not only is no game safe, but Halo in particular is dumped on at GAF. I expected that. Just not in the sheer volume. Probably a correlation to the 1000+ Jr's just added, going by the proportion of innane comments coming from them.

Just saw the video:

Outside area with full sunlight looks waaaayyyy better than the inside stuff.
The big red laser is ****ing awesome! But you only get a tiny glimpse of it
The mongoose looks like it's fun to drive
the sniper gun with night cam vision looks awesome

but other than that, this build needs a lot of work. Especially the gunfights, I don't think a particle system is in place yet but if it is in place it's pretty weak

Because people say the Halo 3 looks like a Hi-Res Halo 2. I used this shot to show that Halo 2 running on a PC and Hi-Res with lots of AA looks much worse than Halo 3. Saying Halo 3 looks like a Hi-Res Halo 2 is idiotic and any one saying so deserves a 1 week ban.

we all know that the direct-feed hi-def vids of the final game are going to look HOT but it's not there yet. also, i said that it looked like halo 2 but that has more to do with the quality of the video.

don't put me on ignore ghaleon :(
 
I can't figure out if the people complaining are even looking at the same screens as I am.

Maybe they look amazing to me cause I've played the game so much and know how it looks in real life. Where as they are just comparing screen shots.

Well and they are looking at them through their testicles. That's never easy.
 
Torrent is doing great, i am dling 80kb/sec, and uploading 20kB. Juding by the screenshot's pretty exciting, I am just wishing there is the equivalent of Halo 1 pistol ownage.

I hate to see the first (?) one, but I am totally unimpressed. I think I'll wait for the 720p videos, but so far I find it really dull.
 
People flip it when it is a hyped game...some of the effects and metallic surfaces definitely look nice...but it certainly isn't above nice yet...I suppose hype for game creates certain opinion

You know... people can be underwhelmed by the pics, everyone is allowed an opinion. But suggesting people who think the pics look good are brain-addled by hype? **** off, man.
 
Holy shit, I just realized that next-gen Halo is here...

The sand, the water, the ground textures, the decorators = wowzers

The maps in the Halo 3 poublic beta will probably look even better and more polished.
 
I can't wait for the beta. It looks pretty good. I'm so glad I got in the rule of 3.

It's already clear that this is much more than a Halo 2 rehash. Even little things like the perspective, the weapon angle and the HUD appear to be tweaked.
