Halo 3 Beta Video

Graphically I think it doesn't look good imo. But the video is low res and it's only alpha.

Looks pretty good I guess. Bumped up polys. Better lighting. Better geometry. Like someone said above, pretty evolutionary. It just looks way too familiar to get me all that excited. Some new environments would be nice.
 
Neither bad nor amazing (there's other games to be released this year beating the BETA in graphics by quite a margin).

We need better quality videos but it's nice to finally see the grass in action and I can't wait to see the water simulation.

I expect that this video will put an end to the silly posts claiming MGS 4 got low res textures, low polygon models and all the other weird downgrade talk seen in the PS3 game threads. :)
 
I declare this thread awesome just for letting me fill up my Ignore list with everyone who says it looks like Halo 2. It just got a lot bigger.

Know what else just got a lot bigger after seeing those pics? Woo!
 
I gotta say, although I can 100% understand the "Halo 2 HD" comments when it comes to some of the scenary outside, that shot that Tieno just posted thats within the building looks frigging baddass. You're doing a good job by the way, don't see anyone else saying it.

These are ulta low resolution shots with super high compression grabbed from like a youtube video. Im sorry to say, if you can judge that its significantly better than Halo 2 in those shots, then you must have some magical powers. Don't insult others who don't see what your imagination sees, because THAT is pretty despicable and pretty ****ing stupid. You sound like a raving lunatic.

Come on now. This game will be freaking fantastic no doubt, but those shots (and most past shots) are not the greatest looking things in the world. Yes, yes, alpha, beta, gamma, delta build. I will eat my hat if the final build is significantly better than the public beta. Graphically disappointing (only because of what Bungie have provided in the past), but still very much highly anticipated.
 
:lol he blacks out the teams names but forgets that when a person kills another, their GT is displayed. And if he sees a team mate his GT is displayed too.

That's just as f*cking stupid as saying it looks just like Halo 2.

It looks good but not great, it definitely looks better then Halo 2 you clowns. From what I can tell from the low res video, it looks about on par with Perfect Dark Zero, only with art that doesn't want to make you gouge out your eyes.

Two things that are right on the money are lighting and level design.

Textures are largely either bland or dogshit.

It's almost like you're looking at a beta.

I play Halo 2 every day, and see Zanzibar quite a bit, but I can tell even from these shitty pics that it blows Zanzibar out of the water. Looks like my comment struck a few nerves, I can't help you're blind to the obvious, it does not look like Halo 2, give me a break. Same style, yes of course, but the overall detail, not even close to being the same.

Actually, you can't see anything in the particular screenshot he's jerking himself off over. The other shots you can actually get a pretty good idea of what the game looks like. Good try, though.

Anyway, I'm curious if the multiplayer graphics are an indication of the overall graphics, so also in singleplayer (just like in Gears). Or that the multiplayer graphics are much less good (like Rainbow Six and GRAW etc. )

I thought the beta was supposed to feature the final graphics and art assets of the game. This doesn't look bad IMO but I can't see too much improvement over the alpha stuff.

But everyone keeps saying "it's only beta" - doesn't that mean the game will actually look like this more or less?
