Yeah, for as much negativity that this forum dishes out towards Halo, the leaked threads go from 0-200 posts within a matter of mere minutes. Retarded.

It's almost like the series is good or something.

i wish these people leaked a video of them actually playing a slayer match, not just walking around the map.

I'd love to know what the leaker is thinking right now. Imagine: you get to play the beta, and you think "I'm going to tape this and leak it to become teh heroz of teh interwebs!" You know that's risky, though, so you spend a couple hours going through and blacking out everything you think could be used to trace it back to you.

Sadly, you're an idiot, and just after leaking it you see strangers all over the 'Net have been able to find clues left all over your vid. So now you just wait, knowing your phone is going to ring any... second... now...

I just kept right click > save as'ing the link to the 7 minute vid over and over. It started downloaed on like the 10 try and is now downloading at 500KB/s.

They don't control the board, and GAF has a fairly long history of not pandering to demands to take down things IIRC..

Anyway, nearly there on the first posted link..it's been up and down like a yoyo.
 
Someone needs to post the Rapidshare version of that, stat!

Game looks immense, even if the quality is horrible, the graphics look really really good! I can't wait! :D
 
Looks good. Though it's been banded about quite a bit I think that some people are going to be disappointed that this is 'evolutionary, not revolutionary' in terms of grahics. Though I really like the subtle lighting and the like, people are going to moan, regardless. Even when they see the sheild, which looked amazing, IMHO.

I was talking to a work mate who said he expected a graphics 'overhaul'. No idea what he meant but I know he's going to bitch at this as well. When the (non GAF related) general videogaming public gets a hold of this most will be impressed but there is going to be that section that will come in and say 'looks like HALO2'. Which if course, it doesn't.

I think GTA 4 will get exactly the same reaction when it's fully revealed. People seem to be expecting something revolutionary rather than expanding on what's come before. Will it make any difference to either titles performance....? Nope.



Five pages in and next to no trolling... this is nice. If only PS3 and Wii threads were this way....

I wasn't expecting much out of the graphics after Halo 2, and I'm still interested in the game for non-graphics reasons, but I'm genuinely surprised that some people are actually impressed by what they see. And yes, you can make SOME judgements on the graphics even from a crappy Youtube video. The architecture is incredibly bland, for one.

This is kinda why I didn't make this thread as soon as I saw it, nor mention the "better" quality full version - I love Bungie, and I'd imagine they're kinda pissed by this right now...

And I feel even worse for the leaker of his vid - if you think that there were clues to get the guy fired in the first 2 mins a.k.a. the YouTube version, if you've seen the full version, you'd think the guy got fired 15 minutes ago - it's THAT easy to find out who he is, and you don't even need to work at Bungie to find out...

I have to say that the vid is so damn awesome, and shows so damn much - Bungie really love to hide things, wow...

I didn't think so, that's your opinion. But I think the architecture is very nice.

True enough, but I was thinking more directly of run-ins GAF has had with PR people over media they wanted pulled (like Tecmo fairly recently), which might be a closer comparison. I'm sure if Bungie or MS really started playing hardball they could force action, but it wouldn't make them particularly popular to threaten our dear GAF..

architecture being bland is HALO. if they added detail it wouldnt.
