Butthole fishhooking is totally in, right guys?
Here! Here!op_ivy said:any unintended abuse of a games glitches is cheating in my book. you can side-skirt that anyway you want, but that doesnt change the fact of what you are doing is wrong.

I dont use it because tbh I cant pull it, and when I play H2 I try to have fun and hardly ever try to figure out the best spots in a map or tricks like those. However, I have noticed that using them doesnt give you an unfair advantage, but only levels things up. Almost 90% of people use it. It is almost a neccessary skill. I really cant do it, but I wish I could. I am a 24 in TS and sometimes I feel like I could have reached 30 if I was to use such tricks and the noob combo. Still, I feel proud of the fact that I manage to keep my level without employing any of these things.Stinkles said:This is what's cheating: Using something you know gives you an unfair advantage.
It is very plain.

Aeropause: What made you decide to mod your Xbox to gain an unfair advantage in games like Halo 2?
Schmuck5000: Modding is not an unfair advantage. There is just as much chance that there will be a modder on the other team. I am there to even things out. Halo 2 is beginning to get old, us modders are just making it more funner.
Aeropause: Do you get some kind of good feeling when a game is over and everyone is the room is calling you every cuss word known to man?
Schmuck5000: I tend to ignore those people, they bitch and morn about how I cheated but they could have modded their box just like mine. If you want to start complaining to me them dont bother I have better things to do.
PedroLumpy said:I believe Stinkles once posted an 'interview' (I use the term mildly loosly) he did with a Halo cheater. The logic used by the hacker was mind blowing. One gem if I recall correctly was that "Everyone can download <whatever> hack to their Xbox! It's their fault for not using it!"
As the saying goes, Logic to a fool sounds foolish.
EDIT Found the thread
Here
So it's actually done by someone else, Stinkles was the one who posted it.
Here's what I was thinking about. Aeropause is our interviewee, and Schmuck5000 is the cheater
Depends on when it is posted. I've debated starting one, but I think it should wait until a few days before the beta starts.op_ivy said:easy. i expect 1,000+ BEFORE the beta even goes live
urk said:Yup, it's not in the instruction manual, anywhere on the official site, or noted in the game in any context. The developer never intended you to skip reload animations, double up attacks, or jump twenty times as high as everyone else. You use these exploits because you aren't skilled enough otherwise, or because all the "pros" are using them, or because you don't feel they give you an unfair advantage, but the reality is you suck and you make the game less fun for legitimate players who just want to have fun or have a fair match without having to comb the net looking for magic button combinations or secret exploits.
How anyone can spin that into the realm of fair gameplay is beyond me. If winning a video game is that important to you, it's time to put the controller down and back away from your television. It's therapy time, Croyt.

Red: Hey man, you totally just BXR'd me!
Blue: Did not.
Red: Dammit!

Heck, it will probably still hit 1,000 posts even then. :lol
To be fair, I ripped on you because of your posting history in other threads, after that post.Borys said:I made ONE post here on page 19, not earlier, edited it 15 minutes later yet I am labelled as the biggest troll in THIS particular thread.

I can quote dozen of people that posted trash countless times in THIS thread and got away with it.
Bad timing on my part I guess. And I usually even do not post in Halo 3 threads :/

MLG does not allow glitches like superbouncing, etc., but BXBs, BXRs, Double Shots, etc. are allowed.
Team Hardcore isn't a playlist specifically for MLG fans.MaX_PL said:hey stinkles are you guys updating the Team Hardcore playlist with MLGs current gametypes?
Ivory Tower stopped being hardcore months ago...

:lolKarg said:Thats not true, superbouncing and standby are different forms of cheating. BXB and its fellow glitches were skill based if you could actually pull them off.
It's pretty simple though.Ramirez said:I can't do BXR at all
It's a button glitch not intended for the gameplay. Super-bouncing is also a glitch that wasn't meant to be included. It's in the physics engine.brokenwatch said:Superbouncing is cheating obviously. But I thought BXR was put in intentionally as a skill you were supposed to master. Like a headshot. Or hammer-on/pull-off in GH2. If it is cheating I would like to see a link to a Bungie FAQ or something on it.
GhaleonEB said:I've also learned that off-camera video is a pretty terrible way to see games, especially next-gen, HD games. So many videos as last year's E3 left me thinking games looked just okay from that kind of footage, only to be blown away from the direct-feed stuff. I've also learned that when a developer has a pedigree of putting out stellar graphics, they usually live up to it.

This is totally accurate. BXR is just canceling out frame animations (much like fighting game enthusiasts do) and superjump is an inherent physics exploit.Striker said:It's a button glitch not intended for the gameplay. I don't get it why some MLG fanboys or whoever uses the button combos think that it's okay to do that but find super-bouncing unfair. It really boggles my mind.
Many moderators on the B.net forums have said time and time again that button combos are considered cheating in Matchmaking.
Zeal said:This explains why Bungie was never able to patch either. Sloppy.

God, I agree so much with you.Gigglepoo said:I'm glad my attention span isn't long enough to be affected by cheaters. I played Halo 2 every day, for hours a day, for a month. Back when it was pure. I looked up a few months later and found the community was complaining about standbys and wall glitches and a million other problems. Cheaters ruin everything. Better enjoy the Beta and first few weeks after H3 comes out because everything will be different when cheaters figure out how to ruin everyone else's fun.
brokenwatch said:I'm not an MLG fanboy if that's what you're trying to imply. I am terrible at the game. I'm just looking for an official statement that this is cheating somewhere. To me it does not seem like cheating, but that's just my opinion. If there is a FAQ that states it is, hook me up.
