Halo 3 Beta Video

I would like to hear who got caught and what the penalty was. Maybe clever PR?
The gamertag of the guy who leaked it suddenly got deleted a few hours after this came out. I suspect so did his employment with Microsoft.

Edit: yeah, what he said.

Seems as if only xFalzY is the only one that got in trouble. I say this because his gamertag was the only one deleted. As far as the definition of "in trouble", I'm not sure. I would guess if he worked for Microsoft, he got fired. I would also guess he is banned by Bungie from playing any version of Halo online.

I don't see why anyone else in that game would have gotten banned. More than likely, those other people had no idea he was recording the game.

I know. I was just explaining the "who" to the poster that asked the question, as well as covering all bases.:D
But hey, you never know, he could have known someone that he was playing with and they could have been in cahoots.
I'm giving this xFalzY guy too much credit, I'll stop now lol

may 11th? shit, i already requested off the 16th and 17th, its too late for that day too :(

Oh, I don't know what's going to happen. I just found the "invite" in my mailbox this morning. There will be Halo 3 at this event, but that does not mean new information will come out that day. I honestly doubt NDAs will be signed (I have a feeling all information revealed there will be documented in Bungie's pre-Beta FAQ), but I couldn't tell you one way or the other now.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie lets journalists get their hands on Halo 3 just to start massive hype leading into the beta. Why not? I'm just going for the free food (there will be free food, right?).

It's guys like you who give the gaming media a bad name. Legitimate gaming journalists hold out for free booze. :)

I first watched the youtube video. I was not impressed. then I watched that larger video, and the game actually looks pretty impressive, looks better than shadowrun IMO. Still looks worse than resistance.

well i thought that too, but it's probably a match between press in NY and press in San Fran... didn't they do the same thing with Halo 2 or something. I could have sworn someone did something like that once.
That event was for Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. It was the first of its kind and yeah it kicked ass. Spies vs Mercenaries. West Coast against East coast. I am not sure if Halo 2 had a similar event but the one that comes to mind is the one done by Ubi for that game.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not, but a few don't seem to get what's so cool about this sequence. Go and watch the shot on the higher quality vid. Not only do the splashes look leaps and bounds better than Waverace, but the appear to be physics driven. Look at the Master Chief's arm, the water is rising from the tires, hitting the armor, and being scattered properly, the direction and composition of the water changing as it contact another object.

Now, they could be simulating the physics, but either way, it looks really nice and shows that even in the Beta state, Bungie has worked some nice effects into this engine. The final game is going to be a treat.

FAWK THERE IS TEXTURE POP UP!
I just noticed it from 1:13 to 1:17 in the green crate, a decal pops up. Please Bungie you swore on your mother this was fixed, dont let me down!

Yup, noticed that on first viewing. It's pretty minor though, especially considering that this is a beta. Nothing like Halo 2.

Bungie should release a single player teaser or something, to calm the frontlines. Its not fun anymore, reading all those blog updates, about how this looks great, and that looks great. Just show it.

It's funny, I don't drink ever. But these press events are usually centered around alcohol (instead of, you know, games). I was at an event last week. Some publisher was announcing huge news for their company (you guys wouldn't care about the news and I'm not going to say who it was), but every minute or so (literally) they would interrupt their own presentation to remind people to stick around until 8:30 because four bottles of really good Vodka were going to be served. "Everyone has to do a shot!" I was told. Man, journalism is hard work.

I abstained

You know, the Halo 2 HD argument somehow seems wrong. I started playing Halo 2 on PC today (1280x1024, so close enough to 720p :P), and yeah, I gotta say. Even that tiny shitty quality video has WAY more detail in it than this does. This screenshot I made from the tutorial should illustrate the point. This is of course with settings maxed and 4x FSAA.

(And yeah yeah yeah, I know this point has been made by about a thousand people in this thread, but I just wanted to post a bit about Halo 2 without actually opening an entire new thread and polluting the forum that way :P)
