Same deal with the TJs! I haven't played with Trasher/Dude in weeks, they hate me, I know it! :(

I still love you, just have zero desire to play halo. School started to ramp up and I'm not to keen on Bungie's game types anymore.

So what you're saying is, you'll be back when there's a Team Hardcore playlist? :D

I see it's time to replace that Eagle in your avatar.

Haha yea, my friend made the avatar for me, waitin' on him. :p I swear I've gotten the absolute worst teammates in every social match since I hit 50, so it's took me quite a while.

For the love of God... Take the objective crap out of Lone Wolves. Halo players are too stupid to figure out (on their own) how to play those game types properly.

Or just split lone wolves into two playlists, one for slayer type matches and one for objective type matches

Nah...makes too much sense

Off topic, but are you getting COD4? I'd like to find a good group to play with regularly.

(And I decided I'm going to try not playing WoW for a while. I spend far, far too much time playing it.)

I'm getting that too.. sign me up.

Or team hammers!

Customs.

1) BR starts.
2) BRs on maps are swapped with ARs. Some ARs added on certain maps.
3) Motion sensor appears for five seconds after respawn only.
4) Overshield is amped to 3x's to better replicate the previous games.
5) Guardian's flags have been swapped around to replicate Lockout's 1-Flag difficulty.
6) Classic has been added with 'touch return.'
7) Snowbound has been made more balanced (work in progress).
8) Last Resort plays more similarly to Zanzibar, balancing the skewed weapon/equipment distribution.

I think the occassional SWAT would work in the Team Tactical play list to mix things up a bit. I haven't played A TON of Tactical myself but I definitely think it's a worthwhile addition to the Matchmaking mix.

So I spent some time in team doubles last night and have decided Epitaph is a great 2 vs 2 map. I think its a total cluster fuck of a map for slayer or even 4 vs 4. But with 2 vs. 2 it has some really great encounters and strategies. Much less getting shot in the back on 2 vs 2 which is near constant on slayer or against a larger team.

But I still think the map could do without the shield doors entirely, as its made up of 90 degree turns offering plenty of cover as it is. And banking grenades in and out of the narrow walkways would have been plenty of fun without the shield doors.

So, do you guys think this is the spot to post game variants and forge creations, or should we get a separate thread going for that kind of stuff? I think it would be cool to have a place to throw up different customizations for review. We could critique, make suggestions, and get some really sweet gametypes out of it.

I think this place would be great, seeing how little traffic this particular thread gets.

I guess that's the reservation. If somebody wanted to put a map up for testing and needed a bunch of players, I'm not so sure this forum would work. It's dead.

Pretty much...I'd blame some of it on being 3 A.M. though. :p Making your first game online against level 47+'s isn't a good idea either for that matter.

Forgive me, but at higher levels in double team, it really is a terrible map. It degenerates into camping by the shield doors (which have to be one of the worst inventions to add to a Halo map). It's actually worse than Snowbound for camping; at least the bases are fairly accessable on Snowbound so there is a chance to kill the other team (and with nothing so powerful as the Hammer).

Quick question...

I'm close to getting my last achievement (sword triple kill). I was wondering if I could toggle the samurai sword off, or will it be stuck to my back forever? I don't really like the look of it to be honest.

Oh, nice. Now it's time to swing away, Living Dead playlist here I come.

I know can't wait. Even if it's just for a day...It'll be one day that we can just play and have fun and get away from some people's non-stop way too serious and competitive mindset. Competitiveness is great but...Some people take it way too far with the screaming.

Infection here I come! Hopefully I can rope my Overkill and Mongoose Mowdown tomorrow too.

I'm starting to loathe the shield doors too.
They were fun to fuck around with for a minute, but now they're starting to really bug me.
If a level had one shield door it wouldnt be such a big deal, but there are just too many of them on most levels that have them.
(did you catch the 2nd half of my original post BTW?)

Need some help. Took a photo of my first overkill but it is not showing up in my Hi-Res Screenshots. I was able to upload it into file share, but need to move it over to my service record gallery so I can make it my trophy shot on b.net. Anyway to do this?

You'll just have to wait it out, I think. It should show up eventually.

Ok. I swore there was a work around to get it from my File Share into the Hi-Res Screenshots.

BTW, getting an overkill = awesomeness.

I uploaded an overkill pic that took out two Warthogs with one laser shot last week that still hasn't shown up on my b.net profile...

Anyway, what look sensitivity is everyone using? I'm at 5 and am toying with the idea of moving it down.

I'm playing on default (is it 3? maybe).

I'm thinking of moving up to 4. I'm not a great aim, so I've kept it low but it really is hampering my turning ability.

I really wish you could change your sensitivity for certain weapons, I'd love for my Sniper/Shotgun/Sword to be about 6-7, but the rest of my aiming would go to shit that high.

I've got mine on 5, and I still struggle to get the sniper on someone when they're close...really I just suck altogether with 3's snipe. I can have my games with it, see my intense slayer vid where I get a guy's head that's barely poking out in the laser tower. But on the whole, I can't hit anything consistently. :(

Ok, done with playing the haloween playlist for the night. spent 2 hours longer playing then I planed on. :)

I think I saw three or four gametype variants. my only real complaint is that it is way to hard to kill the zombies sometimes. especially on the gametypes where they are invisible. They should have some where the zombies have no or half shields. Kept getting joined up with commander, brigadiers and such--people way better then me in other playlists--so that might have tarnished my experience some I guess but they all seemed to dislike the camo types as well.

But close range sniping scenarios are (should) be few and far between. I'd rather have a low-sens if I'm sniping because I shouldn't have to turn on a dime.

True, but they seem to happen to me alot, especially on Narrows and that damn hump area in the middle. :p

The Infection playlist is really good stupid fun, I almost defended myself on the Froman walkway with a turret, got 5 guys and had my shotty out, turned around and the last zombie was already airborn and he got me. :(

Infections pretty damn fun. Not too fond of the invisible zombie variants though, those are pretty one-sided.

Visible zombies with swords (whatever variant thats called) was the most fun IMO.

So I'm in Team Slayer last night and we're kicking this teams ass then suddenly the connection for everyone turns to complete shit and they come back and win. Everyone had 1 red bar except one dude on their team who had 2 bars but everyone was just jumping around, you were constantly killed by someone you couldn't even see. So I guess cheating is back.

Sounds like standby. Nothing Bungie can do save ban the offenders once they've outed themselves.

It's WAY less prevalent this time out. In the early days of Halo 2, cheating was the norm. I saw a lot of standby, tons of dummying, and even quite a bit of gamesharkering.

I'd pay a monthly fee for a guaranteed no cheats gaming experience...

I know alot of other "straight" gamers who would do the same...

Do you mean modding?

The good part about Halo 3 is that, since Halo 2 Bungie has learned alot about cheating and detecting it, so now i Halo 3 they should have a lot easier time finding the cheaters. Also, if you are caught cheating, your entire console is banned from Matchmaking, not just you gamertag. In Halo 2 the cheaters would just get a new XBL account, either paid for or 2 month trial, and keep on cheating. Now you have to buy an entirely new 360 to keep on cheating (and that one will get banned as well. So stopping and deterring cheaters should be better (although there will still be morons who cheat, but hopefully they'll get caught and dealt with quickly).

Yeah, cheating in Halo 2 was really out of hand at one point. The most cheating I've ever seen in any game, period. And of course, Halo 3 will get it's share of cheaters but it's MUCH less of a problem. There was a point in Halo 2 when seriously ever other game you got into, you got standbyed or glitched or cheated in some manner. But Halo 2 addressed a lot of those things as time went on and Bungie carried what they learned over to Halo 3.

My living dead impressions so far:

1. It's a fun playlist but it's annoying that most people are not playing it in the spirit it was meant to be played. For instance when you play creeping death a lot of people go to the infected to be killed, so they can rack up a high kill counts fatten up the ol' K/D ratio, and finish in the upper ranks. The ranking is borked it seems it goes by kills, I would like to see people who last longer as humans win.

2.People already cheated / glitched. I was a game in the pit, a couple of guys somehow glitched into the little hole by the side the ramp. They went inside and we couldn't kill them with the sword.

3. It's way to easy to betray people by accident in this mode. I was betrayed, and in turned betrayed plenty of people with the laser, and rockets. by accident of course.

4. As a party it takes forever to find a game, it sped up considerably when I went solo.

5. The way the game picks the infected has to be tightened up. I started out as the infected twice in one game, filled to the brim with thirteen people.

It's a fun playlist and I hope they keep it and change it to a social, and not a ranked playlist. Play it while you can.

I had never played infection before until today. Meh...

I know it's blasphemy in such a thread but I preferred the zombie mode in Perfect Dark for all the faults that game had. It was a little more strategic. In Halo it just seems like a free for all.

I enjoy the barricaded up levels more as a variant than the gametype...

I'd like to see this. You have it in your File Share?

I'm using 4 as my sensitivity. Same as Halo 2.
