Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn - Part 4 [Available To Watch]

I'd say the show is not just pretty good, it's exceptionally good. Besides not having Downes as MCs voice actor (he's got something extremely calm and reassuring in his voice even while giving commands unlike the voice actor in this show) and some props/armor looking like plastic, it is easily on par with any big budget TV show. You get some typical teen drama, for TV standards well enough crafted action sequence and great suspense (
cloaked elite scene
).

But this show also cemented my view of "Halo" not being a good idea for a movie. A movie around the Halo universe though would work excellently.

Fuck that was awesome

I've been thinking this for a while too.

I am loving the series but I did think the interactions between the human cadets and the Covenant inside the Academy were a little akward.

Man that was great!

Only negative point is it's making me more pumped for a Halo series on HBO or similar than Halo 4!

The Elite stabbing the dude from Supernatural then lifting him up was badass and extremely well done!

The only thing that's bugging the crap out of me is him requesting to be called "Master Chief". This takes place almost immediately after they receive their Mjolnir armor. I'm almost positive John had not attained the rank of Master Chief at this point. He was just Squad Leader, and a little over 14 years old.

WOW! That was AMAZING!

That cloaked Elite scene was shot like a horror then BOOM! Bad Ass Appearance of MC.

LOVED IT!

That bugged me, too.

Yeah that bugged me a bit too but only because someone telling you to call them MASTER CHIEF just sounds corny lol.
I was sure he was gonna say 'call me John'.

This episode was soooooo good.
The Elites have been handled perfectly. They are really intimidating and you can just tell that they view humans as vermin.

Every time Chief was on screen I had a shit eating grin on my face. I was so worried that he would look corny with some actor in a suit but it looks great.

I still think a Halo film should be CGI though. The CGI in that Fincher trailer was great. A whole movie like that would blow my mind.
MS should just bite the bullet and fund it themselves.

Agreed with the part aboutthe movie but "Master Chief" is his rank and those cadets should be usi g that.

Yeah, you know, these are much better than I expected. Really looking forward to Friday's because of them (amongst well other reasons of course).

Can't wait for the release.

I'd imagine the only reason MC requested the students to call him 'Master Chief' was for people watching who might not be totally familiar with his real name/rank at that point in time.

Him having a different rank would confuse people who don't follow as closely as most of us.

Half joke / Half truth

The implication is that any enlisted serviceman who has earned the rank of Master Chief would most definitely be telling everyone to call them "Master Chief".

Ah, thought he was implying that John had obtained the rank of Master Chief at the age of 15.

Thanks for the context.

Pretty uninformed review. Not knowing the who or why about MC's voice actor... Not noticing the fact that
Mehaffe was gunned down
in front of lasky or hearing him tell the others... Etc.

Poor review...

Agreed, that was review written by someone who wanted to get the first review out the door by watching the episode on their iPhone. Terrible.

Incredible episode, and I understand the emphasis on the cadets but would have loved to see the fall of some officers to drive the "we're fucked" point home.

Couldn't smile any bigger seeing the tripple-kill OP pistol.

It is his rank and cadets should use that vice his first name. I have been wondering why John 117 is still a Master Chief while every spartan 3 including Jorge (spartan 2) of Noble are officers.

Honestly although it was one of the reasons I got the LE, I will just be getting the Bluray version for 17 bucks.

A 500mb hour and a half video is bound to have terrible IQ...
