It must just show different for everyone. It's 8:40 central time and the countdown shows 13 hours and 20 minutes for me, so 10am central/8am pst.

Most likely what it is. I just don't trust running disc games in a vertical position.
Well if it's launched and you are sitting on the menu I imagine you are set to go.

Well that sucks. Got into the beta through being a dashboard preview member thing but I never actually got around to playing due too school. Now when I launch the beta it tells me that I need a valid MCC license to play it. Hopefully they make it available to all like they did with the Destiny beta. Hopefully.

I mean it was promised as part of the MCC package and I could see a lot of people getting upset if it turns out you didn't actually need to buy MCC to play the beta, especially considering MCC's disastrous launch. I personally wouldn't care, but I can pretty much guarantee that some others would.
A second beta that is a public preview of the final content and performance would make sense. It would be nice seeing the game running at final resolution since this beta is 720p but that's a ton of work to do a second test after having one that has 7 maps, 2 new game modes and a slice of the weapons.
As it stands, I'm happy to even have a chance to play this beta for the next 3 weeks.

Maybe if they had pulled off the MCC launch, yeah. But as is, there's a ton of pretty angry fans out there who would be even more upset if it turns out that not even the beta was exclusive to them.
Plus, the way they keep emphasizing "arena" beta suggests that there may be a BTB beta somewhere down the line, which would benefit from a larger population. So they'd probably make that open.
I'm thinking there will be some sort of beta for whatever is following up Spartan Ops. That mode was broken because of lag for me and my buddies on the 360 and I haven't had a chance to play them since the update to MCC but I would expect 343 to try and follow that up with a more fleshed out suite of things to do and reasons to want to play it.
There's still a lot we don't know about Halo 5, and all of 2015 will just be a giant ad campaign for the game.

With me it said 14 and a half hours a while ago. That came out to 10am EST (I am on East Coast US). It seems like the countdown is random then if it is showing different things for different people.

I dled the latest patch today, came back just now and it's at 95% and seems like it's just staying there. Wasn't there a pre-load for 5 beta? Is it being dled too and that's why it stays at 95%? I'd hate to have to restart my dl, I've poor dl speed.
Cross posting from the other thread, but I just want to make sure mine updated from the Preview Beta...my file is 10.2gb (which others have said is their file size after patch) but when I launch it I am still getting the "preview period has ended" message...is this what everyone else who was in the preview is getting after the update?
Let's try something really quick, follow my gamertag on smart glass, I'll launch the beta, and see if you can see me in it on smart glass. From there you van pull game details and maybe download.

Do you have a physical or digital copy of MCC? Maybe put the MCC disc in the Xbox if you have a physical copy and try again.
Edit: actually mine is just saying the early preview had ended and come back on the 29th now. Seems like they were doing some server stuff earlier and it wasn't connecting to get that message.

Not sure why it's blacked out for you. I went into the Halo Channel, skimmed through all the Nightfall episodes and unlocked all the rewards. Went into MCC and I was able to press the tab.
Try the Nightfall method.
