Halo 5 Multiplayer Coverage! (no campaign spoilers)

Only downside for me is that my fiancée is getting a knee replacement Tuesday, so I'll only have an hour or two Monday night to play. She's more important though.

Hopefully I'll get some time later in the week to play with everyone!

I see plenty of players picking up BR and DMRs for mid-long range engagement and keeping the pistol as a replacement close quarters weapon.

Which is perfect... Finally, the weapons balancing encourages situational use of the entire Arsenal, instead of spawning everyone with a one size fits all...

Finally to be honest seeing that makes me very happy :D

P.S Now we need to see the Mark V helmet and we're good to go! 343 pls

Each one has a unique challenge attached to it that rewards extra XP if you complete the challenge during the match.

The one I know off the top of my head is for assists. Basically, you activate it for a match and get bonus XP for finishing in the top 50% for Assists. It also says you can get extra bonus XP for finishing closer to the top.

It gives a bigger reward, with conditions. Spartan Kills (the one I saw anyway) gives you a big XP boost but only if you're in the top 50% in terms of spartan kills.

Thanks for explaining. I saw them for the first time today. lol

It's like it's Saturday (press basically don't work on Saturday) and very few people are playing an as yet unreleased game.

It's also only 10am on the US west coast where the testers and staff who're "padding" are located.

I will gladly help pad out the online user base as a non-pro :D

Holm is really fun to watch, I didn't know he was the guy who made that hilarious YT video at a press event a few weeks ago, lol.

I love his off the wall comments and how excited he gets when he discovers something new or pulls off cool shit. Case in point, that sniper triple from the tower. Puts a smile on my face, very entertaining

So I am confused, if I almost take out legendary boss, lets say 98% of his health is gone. And I get killed and other team comes in and takes the kill. I get nothing?

5 out of the 7 or so I have watched lately are streaming at 720p 60fps, and you can tell when lag is a factor in something even at 30.

Most matches I have watched have been great for ping but there has been the odd one or two where things died after a delay or grenades appeared late, but it's been few and far between.

This could change a lot once all the public enter with their potato routers however.

Little one off anomalies in an otherwise smooth game most probably are caused by the streamers connection.

best thing about h0lm(which is also sadly why isn't more popular) is that he doesn't spend half the fuckin stream talking to the chat or have giant wub-wub dubsteps whenever someone subscribes "BUFFALOANUS1234 THANK FOR THE SUBSCRIBE LETS GET SOME SUBHYPE IN THE CHAT GUYZ"

I wasn't a big believer in WZ initially, but the AI actually looks decent enough to kill people, and I like the dynamic of fighting real people while also trying to take out the AI. I think it's going to need more maps sooner rather than later though. It also seems like the perfect mode to play when you're alone and just want to not care about your rank, heh.

Yeah, not sure I like that. Especially on a loadout weapon that you don't lose when you die.

Warzone is filled with awesomely crazy shit. Holm had a warthog that fired explosive rounds yesterday that was just bonkers. Shit like this just makes the req system exciting.

So after H0lmb0ms last game, the post match page said he had 4 REQ packs to open, is that just from that one game? He went 75- 16 but still, that's pretty generous if so!

Leveling up, completing challenges rewards REQ packs too, not just from buying with credits/money.

I know Frank, but some press people (me lol) and few others are probably die hard Halo fans and was just hoping for more :)

ps. Totally out of the blue, I hold a grudge against Major Nelson for not carrying me in Warzone yesterday :P

Unless I'm just completely misinformed with how loadouts work then I don't have an issue with a powerful gun like the DMR Bayonet being an unlimited use card. Hell having powerful loadout guns probably helps balance out the game for those that aren't spending money on packs to unlock a bunch of good limited use cards.

The DMR bayonet is an unlimited use card but you can't access it until later in the game right? Meaning you have to be at a minimum level of 6 or 7 to access it... Then when you reach that level you can spawn with it whenever... ?

You're either doing well, ahead of the pack and have earned the right to stronger guns/abilities than others... and most everyone will have access to these more powerful loadout guns around the same time. I don't see an issue with that.

And teams are matched and balanced based on overall skill. The game mode itself can also reward desperate adventurists if a winning team gets too cocky.

Is the 30fps animation only a campaign issue? I'm not seeing it in multi

Yeah that's fine if that's how it works... when it was referred to as a loadout weapon, I thought that meant it can be brought out at any time..
