The team here at United Front Games has been working on a unified interface that spans all four Halo games and ties them together into one cohesive experience. This means that you’ll see each Halo game side-by-side as you select your favourite missions, and you can play ranked competitive playlists that seamlessly span multiple Halo titles without having to “switch” Halo titles! We’re pretty stoked to be involved with the Halo franchise alongside several other talented studios, and we’re all working hard to bring this massive title to you this holiday season.

If something seems almost too good to be true than the master chief collection probably is.

So what everyone is saying is....
I'm not missing much by having my Xbone stolen.

I imagine at this point that the Halo 5 beta is resolutely more stable than the dismantled, smoking wreckage that is Halo CE, Halo 2, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 all sitting in one house without a roof while fire rains from the sky. I'd advocate them releasing the H5 beta right this second if it was functioning matchmaking wise. Then they fix MCC in time for Crimbo. I'm not even that bothered about h5 but I'd like some form of halo to play on the Xbox one that doesn't turn its nose up at me when I try to get a game going with three friends.
An irl friend is giving me shit for badgering him to buy an Xbox one and MCC. I've been telling him it's going to be fixed "soon", every other day for the last week and half. I'm starting to look like a right Cee You En Tee

Did 343i develope anything related to MCC, looks like they outsourced everything and then ductaped the parts hoping it would work.
hint: it doesn't.
Nice clip. "This is why I endure."
This is the issue with the MCC front and center.
I'm fairly certain that if they launched the Halo 5 beta in whatever state is current in RIGHT NOW, it would run smoother and more consistently than MCC. I think that's the worst issue with the MCC is that 343i's reputation is basically permanently tarnished despite the fact that they're more than capable of launching game they personally developed just fine.
Dat H5 Beta can't come soon enough now it seems...
Wonder if 343 is gonna post an update regarding the effectiveness of the patch and any timetable for future fixes

responsible for quality assurance, design, infrastructure, and mixing it all together.
Pass me his details, I know exactly what he should get you for Christmas.
The patch improved matchmaking search times for some players, but we are aware there are still persistent issues for others. We are working around the clock to address these issues. We thank you for your continued patience and support.Wonder if 343 is gonna post an update regarding the effectiveness of the patch and any timetable for future fixes
Yeah they need to do something the get the heat off of them.Dat H5 Beta can't come soon enough now it seems...
I'll do it for you: "poor" and "eventually." Seriously though, who cares what they post. Until they show something that indicates and degree of competence in regard to the management, communication, and repair of this product, there's no reason to listen to what they have to say.
.
Umm I care?
They're clearly working hard to fix it and I doubt anyone at 343 is happy this happened. They have been communicating progress, they gave us progress, but apparantley this game is buggier than was imagined. I doubt its something like "Yeah johnny just needs to rewrite some code and We'll have it fixed by monday!"
It would be nice if there was slightly more transparency. Like what this one bug was that cascaded down and rekt the entire game.
I think the studio is stretched way too thin. Maybe its pressure from MS to pump out more Halo shit but they REALLY need to tone it down. Everyone was fine with a Halo game every few years and a book here and there.
But now they got the insane package that is Halo MCC, still working on Halo 5, and that Spartan Strike Mobile game. Still churning out comics, books, and toys. Making the Halo Channel and making time consuming videos of pointless shit like map walkthroughs... Making Halo Nightfall and that other Halo movie or series or whatever spielberg is doing.
And who knows what they're working on that isn't even announced yet.

Really, Halo 5 should be delayed until 2016. I imagine right now 343 is probably split between Halo 5 work and fixing MCC. Put Halo 5 on the shelf for 6 months, let 343 focus on just fixing Master Chief Collection. Halo 5 will sell perfectly fine if it's not in the November launch window, Microsoft, hell it might sell better that way. Also putting Halo 5 on the shelf temporarily will probably give more people confidence about Halo 5's quality - because pooling one dev team between fixing one game and making another is only going to hurt both.
MCC will stay broken forever before this happens.
but it doesn't release until Feb which isn't ideal for what I need
Oh, I agree. But right now delaying Halo 5 seems like the right thing to do. MCC's bad launch will do more damage to the Halo franchise and to the XB1 in general than Halo 5 will be able to repair.
It makes me a little sad that I never see Stinkles around here lately. He hasn't even tweeted since the 13th. It's really a shame that people treat him as if he were personally responsible for this mess. Would be nice to get updates from him now.
I doubt the same people who worked on nightfall have very much to do with the games.Exactly.
Who knew that if you subcontracted almost everything out that you might run into unforeseen problems with quality and schedules? Oh, only everybody with even the vaguest awareness of how businesses work? Huh.
It's really starting to bother me that they sunk so much time and effort into Nightfall when they should have very obviously put more attention into, you know, their videa game business. Iceland is pretty, but...
I think the main reason he isn't around and talking much lately is because he's helping with the MCC fixes.
I've posted my fair share of bullshit about this game. I just don't understand why people keel trying MM when they know it doesn't work.
It's a good idea, but I have a suspicion that the H5 beta shares a lot of the matchmaking code with MCC. Releasing it now could just add to the list of Halo games that are difficult to find matches for.

No it doesn't. I played Halo 2 with a team of 4. Those same people can't play together. Working? Fuck nahHe's probably mopping up the tears of the people that have to work overtime and/or fucked up.
But it does work (sometimes). I have been getting a bunch of games today. Yesterday I had nearly zero luck. It's basically hit or miss.
Not to be too stalkery, but he still posts in off-topic. I think there's just such a barrage of anger when he shows up that he's just avoiding Halo threads for the most part.
I get that there is an outrage, but it appears that the outrage has already served its purpose now that 343 has vowed to continue releasing patches and working non-stop. It's at the point where some forums have turned into heated, angry echo chambers. The negativity is exhausting.
I've posted my fair share of bullshit about this game. I just don't understand why people keel trying MM when they know it doesn't work. Why even bother anymore, just wait until it actually works. Can't even be mad anymore. We're in for a long journey to a working game here, better to just accept it at this stage and wait.
