Sure you can't? Instarespawn is not in objective modes. Is it baked into slayer modes?

Cauldron and Land Grab are pretty good, haven't played any of the other SpOps missions.
The main problem is, as has been said often enough, the infinite respawns. It's basically firefight, but with a set limit of enemies.
I also hate how there is no resolution to the missions, no short ingame cutscene or anything. Just fade to black.
I realize it's free, but I honestly would've preferred firefight (ODST style) so far, and I have a hard time imagining myself paying for season 2 or 3 unless new gameplay elements are introduced or the production value in general is amped up drastically.
Edit: To say something positive about MP, the short load times are fantastic. Mandatory install ftw.

It's not hard to see that the embarrassing shit-fest in here doesn't/shouldn't garner any respect from developers; in fact they're probably pissed back at us, or they just don't care. You can't love a developer when they're doing it right, then hate them when they're doing it wrong. Try to be objective, and if there's nothing they can do, its probably time to move on.

I fudged around with the respawn settings for like half an hour last night, couldn't do it. Googled the problem and no one else can either. The option in the menu makes me think it may be a bug, but I'm not holding my breath.
ok. had a few instances when i swear i've hit guys with a short charge and they have survived. must be in my head, lag, or i missed (possibly all 3)
Or Overshield. Direct hits on non-overshielded guys will kill them always. Hitting just next to them might not kill them.

...You're the only one I've seen being uncivil. I don't see anyone legitimately railing the game without merit. But apparently you're seeing a lot of people making ridiculous demands while foaming at the mouth, all I see is you complaining about complaining.

I completely disagree with you. I love Capture the Flag on Ragnarok.
The loadouts allow vehicles to be fun instead of overwhelming (see: plasma pistol and plasma grenades). The DMR and other long-range weapons feel right at home in that map. Laying down team shots on flag carriers or picking up Flagnum kills feels great. Why is it running and praying, as the flag carrier? Get a team. You have a great gun with your flag. Your melee is instant-kill. You practically have a power weapon, and only at the sacrifice of your sprint, armor abilities and 'nades.

The instant respawn thing might actually be a bug that's in need of fixing.
Saying that a developer is actively attacking a faction of the community is the definition of hyperbole and an ignorant way to make a critique against the game. I don't like a lot of the changes that this game has brought forth, forging and gametype options chief among them. However, I don't believe for a second that there is a "out to get me" mentality from this developer to hamper anyone's enjoyment of the game.
Eh, more or less. I can kill people a lot easier than I thought would be the case when I have the flag, though.

I feel really inconsistent, skill wise, when I play this game. On game, I completely dominate and go +15 and the next, I can't get any kills. I always considered myself a fairly good Halo player but in Halo 4, I don't know what to think. It feels like during the bad games, every opponent can 5-shot me with ease.

Weird to see people saying this. I am a very poor Halo player but I find myself doing well the majority of the time in Halo 4. I am joining matches by myself a lot though so perhaps they're matching me with other bad players idk.

You're not getting that because you're obviously not a part of one. I can't imagine the game being the way it is now being viable for MLG, but if you want to go even deeper than that how about all the people who loved race and had communities built around that? That's pretty much gone because they took out the race gametype.
I don't get what they put in for the sake of taking these things out. Was race really taking up that much space on the disc or something?

Loadouts really add infinite possibilities for griefing.
I love my KOTH/Domination layout for storming the Hill/Base: BR, Boltshot, PromVision, Frag Grenade, Resupply, Explosive Power (or whatever the perk that makes grenades stronger is called).
Being able to spam extra strong grenades with pinpoint accuracy thanks to PV never gets old. For defending bases, there's also a good one: AR, Magnum, Camo, AA Efficiency, Sensor.
Not so much fun when you're on the receiving side tho.
The best thing is, basically every AA is either broken or worthless.
Broken: PV, Jetpack, Regen Field, Camo
Worthless: Thruster
Only Shield is neither, although I would say it's closer to being underpowered.
Edit: And fuck being matched up with full teams when going in alone. I can't count how often I've been among the best three players and still lost by a landslide due to the incompetent fuckwads on my team.

It seemed like the first four missions of Episode 1 were reused campaign spaces played in reverse. Am I bugging or was that not the case? They seemed awfully familiar.

My k/d is about 1.4 but I can't get exact figures cause waypoint.
It works though. If people stand up to the complainers, then people stand up to the complainer complainers, an infinite loop happens and nobody knows what the fuck is going on and people start to chill out again.

Yep I know that feel. I play a lot of pro-slayer, so some of it is random chance when people get the drop on me from behind. But still, it is frustrating wondering if I'm playing horrible or if it's something else out of my control. Still having fun, though.

RIP Halo is a bit much. This game has the potential to be amazing. If they remove crap like instant respawns, perks, (some, if not all) AAs, and ordnance in any form, this game can be great.
Although removing ordnance is highly unlikely.
I live in the wealthiest and most populated country directly adjacent to my state capital. Since the Double XP has started I have seen a total of 4 full size bags of Doritos. Only 4. This is between 2 Walmarts, a Meijer, 4 Krogers, and 2 Marsh groceries (all within 5 miles of my home).

Do you really think they are going to fix a lot of the crap in this game? They take forever to fix shit historically and even when they do they are fixes that noone asked for or care about compared to bigger issues that go unanswered.
I'll just keep H4 but so excited for Blops2. Going to play til I hit the top of the ladders. We'll have to dong together.
I have what I think could be a better solution to what global ordnance is now. I posted it in the last OT.
And PV needs to get nerfed or removed. It's just too overpowered.

Historically? 343 didn't care about Reach partly because they took over a long time after it had been out...but Halo 4 is their game. I don't think they'll get rid of new features like ordance and perks, but I should hope they'll work on a lot of balance issues.
