Ahahaha, as if this game is worth a bowel movement. Please.
Choked harder than Tashi when that mantis was bending over in front of his throbbing railgun. For shame.
Solace is one of my favorite maps in the entire franchise and I'm way more of a big team person. Weird.
Idea to diversify the sandbox a bit: add a separate weapon property per faction. So, something like this.
UNSC
+ 150% damage to Health
+ Higher Base Ammo Sizes
+ Magazines and Clips
+ Loadout Weapons are Hitscan
- 50% damage to Shields
- Lower Damage per Shot (compared to Plasma)
- Require Reloads
Covenant
+ 150% Damage to Shields
+ Higher Damage Per Shot (compared to kinetic weapons)
+ Batteries, excluding Carbine
+ Loadout Weapons slow enemies down a la Halo CE Plasma Rifle
- 50% Damage to Health
- Lower Magazine Sizes
- No reloads required, but overheating drains additional battery
Forerunner / Promethean:
See UNSC for magazine-fed weapons, Covenant for battery-operated
What do you guys think about a Promethean Grapple Beam similar to the one out of Metroid being added to the sandbox, just being offensive in nature? It'd basically be for pulling in enemies, latching on to vehicles to either slow them down or launch yourself onto them, yanking people out of Banshee cockpits, pulling distant power weapons closer to you, stuff like that.
I also don't understand the complaints about having a larger sandbox with multiple weapons fulfilling the same role. As long as they're balanced and diverse enough to keep gameplay fun but predictable (see: Reach DMR and Needle Rifle or Rocket Launcher and Plasma Launcher), I'm all for it. It's not like (Certain Affinity notwithstanding) they have to put every weapon on the map, they'd just be more specialized. Let me put it this way: you're at a dinner table with a fork, spoon, and knife. Sure, sometimes you may not need a utensil and some may even be applicable to the same food, but is it really so bad that you were given all three just in case? Who knows, maybe when the leftover cake's in a bowl of milk, it's actually easier to use a spoon than a fork.
