-I thought you can still watch movies and play single player games without online?
-They have not even confirmed what the pricing for live is yet?
You're right and he is just predicting.

I was being sarcastic/pessimistic. EDIT also, referred to game dedis, not Live servers
Also, online connection every 24h. Not exactly "without online". And i don't watch films on Xbox usually, PC suits me just fine.
EDIT seriously, i wouldn't be surprised if Live sub would be raised a bit.

But could you imagine the E3 conference if they come out and show 6-8 AAA games that look absolutely phenomenal and then end their conference with something like "All of that and more. Oh, and...Xbox Live is going to come free with all Xbox Ones."
The pandemonium. :lol
Oh okay, well I watch blu-ray movies and other things all the time. I honestly think they will lower the price for live and give a discount on Xbox live gold bundles for families on a single Xbox One.
People keep saying either Halo 2 Anniversary can't come out because of the 9th year anniversary thing, or 2014 belongs to Halo 5 and they won't release two in one year.
But what about launching Halo 2 Anniversary in early January of 2014? Get in on that Christmas cash, while also being out during the 10th anniversary year.
The kinect video after that showed it works in a completely dark room is pretty awesome too.
Major Nelson's blog on used games:
"We know there is some confusion around used games on Xbox One and wanted to provide a bit of clarification on exactly what weve confirmed today. While there have been many potential scenarios discussed, today we have only confirmed that we designed Xbox One to enable our customers to trade in and resell games at retail.
Beyond that, we have not confirmed any specific scenarios."
You did!
Didn't get overlooked, but it's common practice to berate what you hate far more than to give praise for things like that. Should be cool if it does what they claim. One big thing that came from the reveal that most everyone over looks is dedicated severs for all MP games. I dont recall Sony saying anything about this. So if Sony goes with p2p xbl will have a big advantage and finally be worth the fee.

What about Littlebigplanet, The Last Guardian and countless other Sony IP?
Also really? So even as a UK citizen (apparently) you're going to be more than pleased to put up with the sheer devesation this system is going to deliver? No used games, mandatory online and Kinect etc?
There is no way the combination of second rate iterations of Microsoft's IP with their terrible consumer relationships is going to have me choose their system over the PS4 and certainly not the Wii U.

It was in the wired article.Uh, wat? I don't remember them saying anything about dedicated servers for XBL games. What they said was they were expanding the amount of Xbox live servers. That isn't the same as dedis for games.
Me and my Bro share games but have seperate consoles. It's a reason for us both to not want it.
Pretty much waiting on this and the line up of games.
I agree on all of them but Forza. They've made great games and done very well at interacting with the community.
I have kids so I have 2 consoles so they can play Minecreaft or whatever and I can game in the other room. Maybe they address this in a new family plan?
I am also surprised there is not more outrage over XBL arcade games not being BC. That is one thing Apple does right. So all those arcade games that I have no physical media just go bye bye.
People are more distracted by worse things. And if the system wasn't bc with 360 disk based games, it obviously couldn't be bc with Arcade games...I am also surprised there is not more outrage over XBL arcade games not being BC. Is there no way to see if you've finished a level with all skulls on? Even on Waypoint?
...? No, that's the Xbox One I believe. Where did you read that?So 360 should be getting the friends list limit pushed up to 1000 soon right?
Yes, in your stats, campaign section.
...? No, that's the Xbox One I believe. Where did you read that?
I find the section but no mention of LASO =\
Waypoint doesnt mark your LASO plays as LASO just Legendary if you want to see the skulls you used on the recent mission, You can see it on the console waypoint app.
which is kinda stupid
Xbox snap Waypoint app (loading... loading... this app requires an update)Waypoint doesnt mark your LASO plays as LASO just Legendary if you want to see the skulls you used on the recent mission, You can see it on the console waypoint app.

Our GTs carry over though. So if I have over 100 friends on Xbox One, I would have over 100 on 360.
Oh, you named the backpedal quote, cool.
To suggest I shouldn't name any Team Ico projects is absurd, they are the staple of Sony's repertoire.
Today, I am depressed over the future of gaming. I currently do not feel that I fit into the target audience of any platform (PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PC), and that fucking sucks. I've been a core gamer since I was 8. Now what? I'm sure this will change, I'm probably in one the 5 stages of grief or whatever right now. But yeah, fucking sucks.
True, but the reason they said they haven't done this previously is some 360 games break if the friends list is over 100.*Our GTs carry over though. So if I have over 100 friends on Xbox One, I would have over 100 on 360.
I'll probably be using the Skype chat all the fucking time too.
Staple:
Noun
A piece of bent metal or wire pushed through something or clipped over it as a fastening, in particular.
A main or important element of something, esp. of a diet: "bread, milk, and other staples".
A single, unreleased game in the current generation doesn't even begin to meet that criteria today. Maybe back in the PS2 days when they released two acclaimed games.
A staple would be killzone, god of war, or ratchet and clank.
Why not? PC and PS4 (no comment on WiiU) seem to be suiting you, if you're core gamer.
Or what is it you're looking for?
The more I read the more I wonder what MS expected. I can't imagine they thought the reaction would be this bad. I'm guessing they never planned to talk about the 2nd hand plan & daily verification yesterday?
True, but the reason they said they haven't done this previously is some 360 games break if the friends list is over 100.*
*according to yesterday's Giant Bombcast
There are a few solutions that involve you only seeing 100. e.g. You can only have friends who started on 360s and only 100 of these
I met Mr. Spielberg very briefly several years ago at E3. You have to know this about me, in my previous political career I worked with some incredibly powerful people, so I don't intimidate easily. However, he was the first person I ever encountered where I was actually afraid to make eye contact. I knew if for some bizarre reason he didn't like the way I looked, he could say the words and I would be looking for another job.
Fortunately he was very nice (I basically just said hello and he went on to his next meeting) and I am entirely too paranoid.
I'm sure Frank has better stories. Naturally, I am very excited that we announced the TV series, and looking forward to hearing what everyone thinks about the rest of the Xbox One goodies from the rest of Microsoft at E3. True story, I didn't actually know the final name of the system until it was announced publicly.
I imagine that Xbox One will be a separate Live subscription tied to your gamertag. I bet the premium is higher, too, since we're getting more friend slots and dedis.
I mean with everything else we've seen, can't you see that happening?
I've never like Sony, hate the PS controllers, and really hate the PS UI. They could win me over, but I can't see myself playing competitive games on the platform.
PC sounds like a good fit, but the expense, maintenance, using Windows, setting it up in my office and living room, etc, doesn't sound appealing at all. I've been an Xbox lover since 2001, but I currently feel betrayed.
We need way more information and I really need to see what Halo is doing. Halo will probably get me to buy a Xbox One even if its just for campaigns.
I want the ability to have a keyboard and mouse peripheral and licensing from Riot for League of Legends: Xbox Edition.

Wired.com said:Perhaps most intriguing, however, is that Xbox One gives game developers the ability to access Microsofts Azure cloud computing platform. That leads to a few obvious and immediate applications: All your downloaded and installed games and achievements are synced to the cloud and can be accessed and played without interruption on any Xbox One you sign in to; stable, dedicated servers for every multiplayer game rather than the notoriously fragile practice of hosting matches on one participants console; even multiplayer matches that can grow to 64, even 128 participants, rather than the usual limit of 16 or 32.
But other possibilities also come to mind.
I know you got the answer re: DVI converter but you will need an audio source, DVI is just video. You can run Optical to your TV, Receiver or sound card if you have that.
"Never liked Sony" is kinda bad reason. What does the history matter? (Unless it is about trustworthiness, of course, then i understand)
I have no history with Sony consoles, and i really dislike the PS controllers (DS4 seems to have fixed my complaints though, namely the ergonomics), and they've never had any exclusive games that would interest me (so far) but as a gamer, their console seems to be very appealing. And the extra features are very gamer-centric (screenshots, video, streaming). So, i can see myself jumping to that boat.
Assuming it gets interesting games.
EDIT PS UI, PS3 UI or the prototypical PS4 UI? Regardless, if you're gamer, you're spending time with games, no the UI.
PC... I see. I understand. I'll add tweaking settings etc. to the pile, along with driver updates and whatever issues that may occur.
Uncomparable flexibility though, if one is willing to get everything to work.
How is no liking Sony not an issue? It is for me, which is why I said it. I'm not cool with how they handled their security breach a few years back and that they allowed it to happen in the first place. There's a number of other thing, but yeah, i just don't like them. It'll make it hard for me to want a PS4. This isn't exactly the place for this though.
Really curious to know when will hear about more Halo games. I still feel we will at E3, or something is very wrong.
