Is it not a context thing? i.e. Grade A based on the data they have other connections in Ireland.I found my results interesting compared to yours. Somehow, mine is Grade A whilst yours is Grade B. Ping makes that much of a difference? Who knew?

Ah that might be it. I thought they'd have a universal set of criteria. Like, I would have thought my connection would be Grade A in the US aswell and that way I could easily tell where I stand in terms of the connection I have instead of on a country by country basis. Either way, I miss my Dublin connection
That's sad, considering US ISPs can get away an average speed half their advertised "up to" numbers.

Quick networking question: Does having other wireless devices turned on affect the result of the speedtest? Is the test only focusing on the speed my laptop is getting?
Also he pinged <50 miles and you pinged 100 miles. Might have something to do with it. Although usually closer gets you a smaller ping, but some test servers are just slower than others. My recommended * test server is Toronto and that pings way higher than if I do Chicago or somewhere US even though its farther. Proabably something to do with international interaction.
If you need a good overall view you should ping a bunch of different places and see how well your internet does, not just to one place.

I'd only allow it back with some changes.
Also, this newer router supports having both a 2Ghz and a 5Ghz network. Nothing around here (laptops, printer, 360s, PS3) can see the 5GHz network. Now I'm starting to wonder wtf has 5GHz networking on it.

Google might not give everyone the same speed, or even competitive pricing.

I'm noticing a trend here, the slower the connection, the lower the ping. No wonder why Reach's matchmaking acts up.

A more accurate test would test over a longer period and drop the first 10ish seconds.
But even then, It depends on what you are doing. Up to a certain point, if you are browsing the web, Ping can be more important.
