BJ in Halo 3 IS godly, but in Reach certain AAs are gimped so I switched to default.

Throw nades with X is retarded, but I think crouch jumping with B is doable unless you're in combat. I hope there's an alternate "default" with sprint on B and crouch back on left stick.

That's from the beta, when the pistol was actually good. The pistol was far and away my highest TOD in the beta, then they went and changed it.

That's an odd post to bring up though, all it contained was me saying the AR wasn't a good weapon, and it wasn't AT ALL in the beta, it was terrible. It's only slightly less terrible in the final game.

I remember defending Reach at launch, even telling people to move on, they did, I did, everyone did. :P

That said, I just find it pointless to air out these long lists of how the game is destroyed before you even play it. The game may be the worst game ever, but when we have people who hate Reach saying it's great, and the vids actually look good as well, I find the lists to be a little pointless prior to playing it yourself.

That's not a bad idea actually. Seems more natural for such an important part of the sandbox.
 
I wish I knew why my teammates were taking the other team's flag back to their base while I was chasing down the guy with our flag to get it back. SMH, people are so bad at video games.

I think the root of this problem is many of you guys got approved and instantly started posting in an established community. You didn't take any time to get your feet wet on NeoGAF, and it also seems like you aren't familiar with the flow within HaloGAF.

Without getting pissy, which would be fun but I won't do it, I would seriously recommend spending some more time posting in other sections of the site, and lurk HaloGAF as often as possible. Hell, drop a line if there's something you really feel would be welcome. But I will certainly say a lot of things a few of you have been posting is not.

Ok but in my situation, this is all blown out of proportion. Click on my profile and read all my posts then and see if anything I've posted is out of line. My posts have been full of discussion and info, was that too much? I've been lurking here for a while and what the last few posts are suggesting to be like aren't what I've been seeing everyone else be like..

Please, someone PM me an example of how I was out of line.

To be fair, I still get confused by the CTF waypoints sometimes, even though I've played a bazillion hours of Reach and am totally leet.

Pro tip: As a newcomer to this awesome community you gotta slow your roll a lil bit. Dax learned this the hard way, but now he's a boss in Halo-GAF. Post a little bit, let people get to know your face (avatar) and then gradually you can start posting more once you get a feel for things. Try and contribute to the topic at hand rather than starting a new one at first. Don't try too hard for people to like you, that'll come naturally as time goes on.

Well they were like hiding in our base with the flag and I said "I'm about to get these guys over here with our flag" and then I see them walking across the rocket spawn area on Countdown towards the other base. I don't get it. lol
 
Take my advice new juniors: as a guy who started posting in this community, got myself banned for a month by it in, no shit, 48 hours, came back and became just one of the guys (who whines a lot) you want to not say much of anything until people are comfortable with your presence.

Exactly. "Reach is its own game. It's still Halo, but it's not Halo 4." I'm glad it's not Halo 4 either. From the beginning I've said I wanted a different Halo experience and that was what I got in the Beta. I'm sure however that whatever 343I does with their Halo (4?) entry it will be amazing and will floor us. But for now, I wanted something different, because I grew tired of what I've come to expect of Halo as a franchise. I didn't want a repeat, I didn't want Halo 3.5 and I got what I wanted. The best part about it, is that it does stands alone and since it is its own game, it makes perfect sense that these changes and new elements were made/brought to the table.

Hydranockz was secretly Plywood all this time?

I always hate when I look back at my posts. This is another one of those times.

I'll say plain and simple, I was wrong. I know I was wrong, in fact every post after launch from me complaining about certain facets of the game show how wrong I was.

That said, I did want a different Halo, but Reach post launch was not that Halo.

HaloGAF isn't a club. We're all on GAF. It can feel disruptive to have a flood of new posters in what's become a secluded group here, but I think that's a good thing. Not defending his posts in specific, just the general sentiment expressed in the bold. A lot of folks join GAF for certain areas of discussion, including HaloGAF. I think we should welcome everyone.

lol I won't bring any more old shit up, I was scanning that thread during my lunch break today and just thought it was funny.

I think looking back at the beta, my favorite part was the return of a glorious hit-scan primary weapon and getting to use it... even with bloom. So crispy and nice compared to the Halo 3 BR.

Although, in retrospect, that was before it was really abused, and Im like oh ok, cool. Sometimes it takes time to see what works and what doesn't, and hell, I have had fun destroying ghosts with AL. Still, I want that shit gone.

Never really liked invis though, keep that to powerups.. I wish it was a powerup in Halo 4, with something else stealth like for an AA.

Oh wow, I never did see that...and you're right, the sound quality sounds fucking good! Man, the lightrifle looks nice, if that is a starting weapon I may want it over BR, although it seems its bullets go out to the sides rather than up, making the head shot more difficult. Hm.

I hope a few more weapons in Halo 4 have 'alternate firing modes' like the lightrifle or propipe. Maybe automatic weapon with scope that shoots in bursts when scoped?

The new Warthog looks so damn good ugh. The handling looks absolutely fantastic as well.

Wish I could see a little rotating side by side comparison to the Halo 3 or Reach Hog. Seems quite different, especially on the rear.

I get that. I simply think experiencing the rest of GAF will help people understand how to post. Hell, I was scared to death to post in here even 6 months after being approved, because I knew how you guys functioned. It took time, and it definitely took (me at least) a little while to grasp how to slip into a group like this. I could use many others of the Juniors as great examples too, I mean look at Zoso and even sltPoison. Both immediately came across the right way, without knowing either of them ahead of time. It's all about perception.
 
That last page got me wanting to learn claw for shits and giggles. How else am I supposed to break Uncaged with Bumper Jumper?

The claw is pretty useful! The original DUKE controller was too big for my hands at the time so I used to claw back then because my pointer finger easily touched the buttons at the time hahah

Yeah, I'm really liking the handling of it now. The guy playing sucks at driving but it looks much more grounded and won't flip when it runs over a pebble anymore.
