I'm confused are these damage boost stuff powerups you pick up on the map or perks?

When you get enough points to get an Ordinance Drop you can pick between boosts or weapons. Honestly getting Ordinance Drops will not happen that often in a game so you wont see everyone glowing red, blue or green all over the place.

Red = Damage Boost
Blue = Speed Boost
Green = Overshield

cheers.
they come with/as weapon drops, right?
will they activate on pickup or by pressing a button? if the latter: can you de- and re-activate them?

that answers my fist question and raises another: Ordinance Drops are "unlocked" by score or kills? also, if they're that hard to obtain i'm suddenly having doubts about Infinity Slayer being the more noob-friendly game mode. doubling the damage of the guys that pwn the other team already enough to unlock the scarce drops makes it sound like i'm gonna need a lot of beer before playing it.

and that just brought up another question: in other games, points scored during a kill-streak bonus don't count towards another killstreak: do kills/points made utilizing damage boost (for example) count towards the next ordnance drop?

How are those any different from something like Camo/OS? I think they're pretty slick additions and would've been a perfect addition to move the franchise forward with the classic playlists by having them as pickups.

More offensive boosts in my opinion, in the past even if someone had camo OS they were still moving and killing as fast as you. They just had an upperhand in awareness-longevity.

Damage boost made the BR a 3sk. For the person that was asking, they are ordnance drops.

cheers.

Once you call in ordnance, you simply walk over to the power up and it activates. You cannot deactivate or reactivate it.

Every ordnance option comes with a weapon, or grenades, or the choice of a power up.

Ahh figured it was the damage boost you didn't like.. Yeh I felt very uneasy about that until I saw it in action. Thinking about it though, doesn't seem like it'll be too bad when mixing in all the other new additions.

Now's all we need is a SUPER JUMP Boost!
No we don't but that would be kinda funny lol

Ordinance Drops are obtained by getting points, you get points for doing pretty much anything but you have to build up a decent amount of points still though to get one. Didn't pay a whole lot of attention to the system when playing because of the build up time between each drop. Hell even that 23/3 game I pulled I only had about 2 drops the entire time.

Iirc, Kevin said that they progressively become harder to obtain. Getting 4 ordnance drops during a match is extremely rare.

For this reason I was thinking they should make the ordnance drop meter appear for a few seconds at certain increments like every 25% instead of displaying it during the whole match.

Its funny that you say that actually, its fixed now but you could obtain that with speed+backwards thrust. Me and biggy got insane distances by doing that lol

lmfao wish I could've seen that :b

speed+backwards thrust towards Banshee + highjack = Mind blown.

That might be why I couldn't pay attention to how the system worked. Good to know but all I know is that after the first drop you have to work for the 2nd and work REALLY hard for a 3rd.

Yup 3sk

Hopefully these "modifiers" stay in Infinity Slayer only with Ordnance drops. I would be fine if they were in select playlist but not across all of MM.

Keep in-mind that these are random. You will not always get Damage boost in your drop.

Basically I think its just gimmicky and dumb and I think its catering to the lowest common denominator of ADD riddled youngens who don't have the faintest idea what a out BR is and have no civility.

None of the other Halo's needed crap like this. They should be focusing on awesome core gameplay and not just adjusting settings of what they think we want the gameplay to be.

Also playlists... Hire Me. Seriously Your shit you have currently sucks a fat one. You need help. This isn't my opinion this is a fact.

As a competitive player I actually like these being in the game. I don't like so much how you acquire them but its much better compared to how reach completely ditched power ups. Power ups are a big part of halo.

I hear what your saying but imagine someone decent getting this in a ranked playlist(assuming there is). I'm all for social to have them but let's keep them out of ranked playlist.

Well let me rephrase that, let's keep damage boost out of ranked playlist and add OS/Camo as power-ups. This is all assuming that what we've seen so far in gameplay footage will be strictly in Infinity Slayer only.

I worry about what impact the ability to call in a power up will have on objective games.

Imagine 1 flag, about to enter enemy base and call in OS or damage boost.

Neutral Assault, both teams push for the bomb, whoever grabs it calls in a speed boost and races to the other team's base.

I just think these would be really frustrating to be on the receiving end of as they're so cheap and there's no straight counter to them.

When power ups were on the map it meant they could be mostly kept away from objective points, but now playerc can call them in whenever they like.

No they can't because they're not always going to get a damage or speed boost in a drop. Don't really see what people are freaking out about.

How long do the power-ups last for? If it's, like, 30 seconds then again it's a non-issue.

I've seen your username as the Leader to the Waypoint group on HaloUnity. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Also, where is the Railgun anyways? Maybe it was too badass to be in the build.

Yet another example of 343 showing stuff off then never expanding on it, leaving fans to speculate for months, before a magazine brings us false information. We finally will get to see how it works from a shaky-over-the-shoulder-cam at PAX.

I want to ask you all a question.

How would you make BTB fun again?

Make good maps, make DMR 2x scope, improve movement and remove AAs.

You're welcome.

Pro tip, stream on twitch :)

I did try, couldn't get it to work correctly.

Livestream - start streaming program, press Shift F1 to stream game, done

Anyway, seems like it works

I'll do Twitch once I start streaming the 360. It seems easier to stream via Twitch via cap devices, while Livestream is way easy to stream PC games.

It's a logical evolution of Reach. From what I have seen Halo 4 plays almost exactly like it. They have just copied and pasted Halo Reach code into the Halo 4 engine and added a few tweaks here and there. There is nothing that indicates a step back to a core Halo experience.

This game is dumbed down for another audience.

I assume this is a troll post, because you obviously missed 343 saying the game is completely rebuilt.

Some quick thoughts:

  • H2 Vehicle Health Structure, vehicles should not be papier-mâché
  • Better balanced vehicle weapon strength, they should be strong but not overpowered like Banshee, Scorpion and Gauss Hog can be in Reach
  • H2 Style Maps, especially ones that are like Containment and Waterworks where the map is very wide yet you can get to the other base very quickly and there are many avenues to get there.
  • There should also be a fair amount of cover from Point A to Point B unlike in Reach where BTB maps tend to be mostly wide expanses. Under no circumstance should a player be able to shoot someone across the map(base to base.) This would be mostly due to map design not allowing that not necessarily weapon range.
  • Should be mostly Objective and no BTB Snipers/Weapon Specific Gametypes

I think this should be edited and posted in the "Call of Duty" threads.

YES.

I will also add, objective ganetypes that are native to the maps.

For instance if it's made for 1 flag/1 bomb, I don't want to see neutral bomb in it or slayer.

- No fall damage
- Mancannons. Lots of mancannons.

I'm booting up the fiction panel to watch. Also, I thought J10 had rescinded the Flood? I guess not.

I remember Frankie saying that every map was made with a specific gametype in mind, has it been mentioned what gametypes the maps we've seen so far were intended to be for?

No mentions yet. Longbow is BTB map... that's about it.
Adrift looked symmetrical so i'd assume it is for two-sided objectives and neutral objectives.

From the gameplays I didn't think Adrift looked like a great TS map. Seemed to play better as a FFA map.

Longbow as BTB and Haven as a more classic Team Slayer map?

So, if I catched it correctly, they had to train in amilitary base for the FuD Live Action series?
I didn't knew, that they are doing this for a Live Action series, too. I thought it's only for really big movies. Also, she said, that some of them puked and that she cried. That's really dedication and it should be respected.

The beginning is bad, IMO, the good part begins about 0:32. Still didn't listened to both sparkast's, whenever I try to download them, iTunes says no.
