Just ended a BF3 stream. It was really fun, because some guys who watched the stream actually played with me. However, the last game a admin acted like an idiot. Kept moving me, for no reason. I invited him to a party and he invited me back and when I asked why the hell he is moving me, he just said, "because I can". Seriously? Can't believe, that DICE is supporting those idiots...

Until DICE decides to implement an option for me to choose either Official DICE servers or User servers before I even enter Matchmaking or the server browser, my play time on that game is going to stay considerably low.

Frankie, will Waypoint be able to play All Terminals (Halo:CEA, ?, Halo 3, Halo 4, etc.) in the future?

A random person posted his theory of each terminals codes represents its own Timeline.

Edit: 343I could call it, "The Domain".

He is not been sarcastic, I think 343 stated something along the lines, but just because a map was made with an specific gametype in mind, doesn't mean other gametypes are not going to work on the maps.

I support 343 initiative of making maps with specific gametypes in mind, now I know i will have a map for every objective type, including oddball.

While that is true, I don't think making maps that work well for SPECIFIC gametypes in mind instead of making a great map then fitting gametypes around it is the best way to go about it. Just look at what Bungie did with Invasion in Reach.. They created Spire and Boneyard specifically for Invasion which completely dumped on BTB because those maps were nothing more than subpar for any other gametypes. Hopefully this is just a case of semantics and people over-analyzing what was said.

Relic was made specifically for 1-Flag/1-Bomb. Worked wonderfully for them.
Turf was made specifically for Territories. Worked wonderfully for that gametype.

This would probably solve the problem for me.

If I was DICE, I wouldn't give players full control of their server. I would give them permission to customize the server, like choosing weapons for this specific server. Even if you want to spawn with a Shotgun for example, the game wouldn't allow you to. I hate the idea of banning weapons in general, but getting kicked/banned or moved for no reasons is just ridiculous.

Being booted from servers without notice or explanation is the bane of my life. If I am not meeting some invisible criteria for play, DON'T MAKE THE SERVER PUBLIC.

Raaaaaaaaaaaaage. One of the main non couchy reasons I prefer Console online to PC. I am not getting into a fight about which is better, they both have rage inducing components, but anonymous, inexplicable booting takes the cake.

(not talking about BF3, talking about PC MP generally)

Wow nice.. I didn't even know what was going on, it seemed like the game was normal then I could take a couple of shots and didn't die.. then nobody else was moving anymore..

I need better Internet damn

But GGs the Rats Nest game was especially awesome..

Good point, but it seems like the team who made great maps disappeared after Halo 2 lol, so I'm walking into these new maps cautiously - It wasn't since Halo 2 that people would collectively agree that most maps are great while playing the latest Halo game at the time (ie: Before Halo 3, many people praised Halo 2 maps throughout it's life, whereas in Halo 3/Reach many people disliked the maps at the time of playing them).

That being said, if Haven, Adrift and Longbow are any indication of the quality of the rest of the upcoming maps, then I'm sure there's nothing to worry about :]

Sir, I agree with you 100%. It's just a stupid idea in general. Only the makers of the game should have control about kicking and banning people from their game. There are always people, which are using it for their advantage.

Me neither. :)

343 guilty spark
is a human

He only says master chief is forerunner, never human.

343 guilty spark says the chief is the child of his makers... From guilty sparks point of view, his two makers are didact (for making him a monitor) and the librarian - this could mean didact is imprinted on master chief (which librarian does)

Says "why would you hesitate to do what you've already done?"

Also "Last time, you asked me, if it was my choice, would I do it? Having had considerable time to ponder your query, my answer has not changed. There is no choice. We must activate the ring." <--- this links master chief to 343 to some time... But it needs explanation

Only 2 known people pre halo fired a halo ring. Didact is one of them

What if Master Chief went back in time a couple hundred thousand years, and activiated the Halo Array, and when 343GS told him "Why would you hesitate to do what you have already done?", he was being literal?

I don't know if they'd do it that literally.

Him having the Geas of the Didact is far enough, heh.

Going on 2 days without power...

In Texas.

In summer.

It seems like America doesn't know how to fix power shortages :p We were in our hotel somewhere near the Canadian border in the north west of the US and we had a power shortage for 9 hours after a little rain. Not as long as yours though do I shouldn't really complain. But still, the longest I've been without power in Holland is about 2 hours.

A massive tree in our neighbors yard fell on the power lines and they were laying in the street. They've got them back up, but the power is still off. Guessing they turned it off themselves to wait until their finished stringing everything back up and making the final connections.

But damn it's hot.

That's because America, land of earthquakes, tornadoes, flash floods, droughts, hurricanes, ice storms and god knows what else, often thinks it's a fantastic idea to run power lines overground and not bury the lines.

I can't even imagine how hot it is in Austin right now. I'm in NYC currently and I'm sweating my balls off already :p

You two are being silly. Sure, there are times when admins can be pricks, but there are plenty Official EA/DICE servers you can join.

Yeah our neighborhood met not long ago to discuss burying the lines (at our expense) because this shit always happens.

Half a million dollars for our street alone.

Yup. Halo 2's map set featured a lot of objective focused maps that worked very well on them (Zanzibar, Headlong, Relic, Terminal, Turf). I'd like to see a return to that kind of focus.

Symmetric maps often work well for both symmetric team games (CTF/Assault ) as well as Slayer. I really hope we don't see one-sided game types on symmetric maps much, they very rarely work out.

I don't want to go on a full America bashing but that didn't seem like such a smart idea to me too. Plus it looks pretty ugly as well.

But at least you guys have freedom.

America is bad at long term infrastructure - because short term infrastructure is a profit center for some interests. You will see this in large cities - we have a construction monopoly of sorts in some places - here in Seattle there's one main road construction company, completely in bed with the city - does shoddy road repairs, charges a ton, repairs fail - they get the contract to repair, rinse repeat.

Neighborhoods with buried lines enjoy better views, power supply, and higher property values. And yet we keep putting up more power/cabe/telephone wires. Looks horrible.

I mean, just look at how stupid this is:

That's not even unusual. San Francisco and Seattle are two particulalry ugly examples of this.

Yeah but then what about if something happens underground and the power disconnects. You can't see where the power line is broken/corrupt/whatever. Commence digging up entire neighborhoods.

I would think having the power lines under public roads and be accessible by going down the man holes would be a good idea.

I have no knowledge of how things work in countries where they bury the power lines, but do you really think that's what happens any time there's an outage? As with above ground lines, they surely build relays that enable them to identify where outages are.

Yup. They open an access hatch, replace a conduit. There are plenty of parts of America where this is the norm, but our infrastructure is pretty terrible. Wiring and plumbing are incredibly antiquated here, even modern construction code contains some crazy old fashioned crap.

Most Americans are killed by axe murderers, more even than cardiac arrest or traffic acccidents, because the circuit breakers trip all the time and are located in a haunted basement. True fact.

Also our roads are TERRIBLE. Like, lowest bidder garbage. Once saw a comparison between how an autobahn is made, versus a US interstate. One is indestructible and basically pays for itself, the other is like a blacktop pedicure done by a shaky retard.

In some ways it's easy to think the UK is behind the times but examples like that are a real opener.

America needs to catch up. Start by importing roundabouts and we'll talk.

This. I miss the days that the competitive players/gametypes had no choice to work with anything else other than what they were forced to work with in terms of the maps. Halo 1 had only a couple symmetrical maps that were sometimes used for competitive play, yet it's regarded as the most skillful Halo game overall (same goes for Halo 2 to an extent). Watching TS/OB on asymmetrical maps was so fun back in the day! Holding power positions on the map in TS never felt too broken because the killtimes were faster, so a properly coordinated strategy could overcome a dominant team!

I blame the bird activists lobbying congress.
Where else would the birds live if wires were all underground?
