If it was SWAT Boardwalk, then you probably did. I did terrible; your team were expert campers. Several took to camping in the plants, and my R/G colorblindness prevented me from seeing them. I did the spawn/die/spawn/die loop a dozen times.
Won't be dabbling in MP again for a while. Appreciated the invite, Kittens. But a party can only help so much. Reach multiplayer is not good.
yeah SWAT is such a horrible hit and miss game type.

It's bad enough shooting into people's domes in regular Halo and watching them not die off your final shot. SWAT is like that but even worse since they can just take you out.

I like SWAT most of the time. Fun when people are running around, horrible when it becomes hide and seek.

I don't blame you. I said this 1,000 times tonight, but I'm still compelled to type it here: there were less than 30,000 people on Reach. Is the general Halo population getting tired of the lackluster gameplay and playlists in the game?
If that's not it than what major games releases have hit that would knock it down to well under half of what it was averaging Fri-Sun?

Idea for HaloGAF that everyone wants but ultimately never comes to fruition #48374828282818: The Game of HaloGAF®: It Only Does Bitching! board game with Halo 4 E3 build medals as stickers/board pieces/etc.
Some examples of cards/etc:
-A zoojoo posted! OT expands exponentially!
-A zoojoo posted! [Multi-Quote Ultra Rare Variant] OT expands normally. Junior stability level reset to 0. (Operates on a -10 to 10 scale; -10 forces Hard Reset, banning all juniors in play. 10 advances them all to members.)
-HaloGAF Project WIP. Introduces a new variable that develops over the course of the game; odds of complete development are 1 in 10. Complete development lets everyone take a shot of tequila and boosts the global Morale stat.
-Oddball Swordbase: any and all Griefers (essentially global Trap Cards) are switched to affecting the user only.
-ERDBERHL SERDBEHRS: Every user has to draw a Griefer card.
-VETO: simple "skip your turn" card. This can be a good or bad thing.
-HaloGAF's Reckoning: Acts as five Spoilers at once. 10 Spoilers active in-game at once force all players to roll a die, with the lowest number getting their entire Active Roster banned.
-Admin's Reckoning: Acts as 10 spoilers active immediately. Banned risk is upped to Permabanned.
-Grav Lift: You give one of your cards to any person you please.
-Man Cannon: Same as Grav Lift, but the card's effects only apply to the gifted player, even if the card was otherwise global. Man Cannon + Reckoning is a technique known as "Bish Slapping."

First NFL preseason game was tonight, although I doubt it could have made that much of an impact.

I personally haven't really played Reach in a couple weeks, outside of a handful of matches. I have single player games I need to finish, and I'm readdicted to Battlefield 3.

There were 100,000 on last night when I played. I doubt 70% of the playerbase just decided to call it quits.
I was on earlier today and it was stuck on about 25k and stayed exactly the same for the 2 hours I was on so it could just be the population counter being off.
Same here. I'm pretty much buying Halo 4 for the campaign. Still haven't decided on whether to get the LE, though.

New leaks? Railgun looks pretty interesting, hopefully next time 343 shows the game off we can get a better look at it in action. I still think it could have looked better from the first person perspective though.. Same with the sniper. Also, gun and vehicle textures are a bit meh, but I think the vehicle stuff is buggy due to it being in beta.

I don't care about ranks as long as there are some semi-competitive playlists that aren't MLG but aren't a ridiculous CHEESE fest either.

Played a KotH on Countdown the other day, soon as the fucking hill is outside jetpackers are just on top of the lights out there nading and doming. That's the kind of shit that just makes me furious with armor abilities.

If Halo 4 isn't better than Reach (strictly in terms of MP) I'm probably going to just drift on to another franchise/video game.
I expect it to be a great game, but if it doesn't at least address the problems I have with Reach, than that's it for me.
I'm genuinely worried about this... If Halo 4 ends up being a flop, I don't know what I'm going to do with my xbox. Maybe sell it for some nice PC parts.
Halo Reach sucks but everyone still plays it.
Worst case scenario, Halo 4 is terrible and we keep playing it anyway. The world will be in a perfect place.

I won't be able to do that this time. Only reasons I play Reach are because 4 is coming and I can play with people from GAF. I completely stopped playing Reach for the last few months before I started posting in this thread.
That's my exact perception of multiplayer so far. I still believe, though.
A new expansion comes out for BF3 in September/December, I guess I'll just stick to it if I don't like Halo 4's MP. Surely it'll be better, I mean, major guys on the dev team are involved in several communities. You would think they can offer something that satisfies competitive players as well as your garden variety derp.
I can't handle 2 Reach-quality games in a row. It used to be that Reach, even in its terribleness, didn't really have much competition. I played it because there was pretty much nothing else.
Then came along Gears 3 and Battlefield 3 lol. If 4's multiplayer isn't better than Reach's, I'll definitely find a new home. Although I don't know if that'd be the case for many others.
Nah, you'll hang in there. We'll all be sitting in front of our tvs on Nov 6th with our boners stabbing us in the chin racing through campaign so we can play MP together. If we realize it sucks, we'll go on GAF, complain a bit, forget about how bad it is, get back on Halo 4, rinse and repeat.

This is not true. Go through the first few Reach OTs and take a quick count of all the people that posted heavily in the beginning and then just gave up. Even the Halo Community OTs contain random posts from people just checking in to say they don't play Reach anymore but are hopeful for Halo 4.
If Halo 4 misses the mark a decent chunk of HaloGAF will just move on.
