As far as which game I'm most excited to PLAY, it's FAR and AWAY Halo 4.
I know what I'm getting if I play Black Ops 2.
Halo 4, without a much better way of me putting it, is a shot in the dark.
There was no public beta, I haven't played it at any conferences, so for me, I'm worried. The more I hear about the game, the more it excites me, but in the anxious, unsure, fingers crossed and hoping for the best kinda way.
I hope 343i and everyone else NAILS the damn game and I can't put it down. The things that keep me hooked on multiplayer haven't been announced yet, or have only been hinted at, so as the sleeps prolong and we get closer and closer to that fateful day, my worry also increases along with my excitement.
Now that Black Ops 2 has catered so much to the competitive community, the deciding factor is going to be if Halo 4 is more exciting to watch even with the CoDcast mode and it lacking an ease-of-use way to stream compeititions. Can Halo 4 hold on to its audience long enough on the competitive scene? Is the gameplay going to be addictive with the ranking system? Is there even a ranking system?
Another thing that worries me now, but excited me at first, was that maps were tailored to gametypes... Well in Halo 4 we've only seen a few gametypes and they revolve around slayer. We've seen new ways Oddball and Flag would be played, but nothing else.
That's bizarre to me.
You know you can shoot a pistol and run the flag, but why and how was this decision made? Is this for ALL CTF modes, is it an Armor Mod, what's the deal? They showed the clip and shut their mouths.
So I guess I'm more excited to play Halo 4 because it IS going to be a brand new gaming experience, but every Halo game has changed so much from the original formula. I understand the need to evolve, but I also feel like I have this need to know.
I know less about Halo 4 than I do about Black Ops 2 gameplay wise, that leads to more excitement, but also more uneasy anxiousness towards multiplayer.
If Halo 4 has some KILLER new objective game modes that highlight and push the use of these Armor Mods and Abilities, I could see myself loving the game to death. The strategies, the meta game, and the addictive drive to win will be there.
But if the new game modes are similar styles of Team Slayer and FFA, well, it'll get stale. If there's no TRUE USE of an Armor Ability or Mod than to just "cater to my style of play" well then I'd be inclined to go with CoD.
The formula they have used works, the modes they've added make me salivate as someone who loves creating content, and their reimagining of the class system and dedication to the hardcore community is something I can't shut out.
I've just been expressing these frustrations much less eloquently via my salty posts, but I want this forum, Frankie, David, and everyone else who sees my posts and thinks "what the hell is up this guys ass" to know that there's a decently well thought out reason for it and it isn't baseless hate.
The armor looks freaking sick. I'm a sucker for collecting and decking out my Spartan. I geeked about that in Halo: Reach. I love it. I'm a serious woman when it comes to shopping for Spartan Armor. That's something I'm really looking forward too. Then you add weapon skins and armor skins... megusta.jpg
There's a lot I'm looking forward too, but I'm content with those things. I don't see those things as needing any criticism, so I also don't see as frequent a need to go out of my way to praise those things as well.
What I'm concerned about I'm much more inclined to be vocal about, so while the majority of my posts recently have been with a negative connotation, it's not because I hate 343 or Halo 4 or anything really.
It's just something I see that I wish I either knew more about or wish would have been done slightly differently.
tl;dr
I ate a burger for lunch that was amazing.
