But if biggy watches my play in that game he will just start throwing up again...so it's probably best if he doesn't see it.
Good Games biggy, biggy's stomach, ExWife, and Prinz.
Don't worry - when I record it, it'll be from my viewpoint
OoT is better than WW but not by much. WW is hurt by its endgame and the fact that two (or is it three) of its dungeons were cut in developmentHonestly you're not missing out much. Having been on a Zelda splurge this year and playing through LttP - Wind Waker, I'm so far in the middle of WW and can say OoT is the worst of the 3D Zeldas so far.
So anyone planning on going to FanExpo? I'll be there on Saturday with some friends, so if anyone wants to meet up and play some Halo 4 that would be cool.
Is it bad that I've never played SM64?
While I haven't played through WW in its entirety yet to comment on that, I can say the opposite hurts OoT. There are just so many dungeons that it becomes a tedious blur. Nowadays in particular if you don't have the nostalgia for it, the things like Link's movement speed or the pause before menus pop up really stack up the annoyance in it as well.OoT is better than WW but not by much. OoT is still worth playing on its own, and it's a great set up for Majora's Mask
Come to Michigan and get me, I have candy.
You'll see what I mean as you get through it. I kinda agree on OoT, I wish I could skip the Shadow Temple every time, I dislike it more than the Water Temple. WW is still great though. While I haven't played through WW in its entirety yet to comment on that, I can say the opposite hurts OoT. There are just so many dungeons that it becomes a tedious blur. I tried out a friend's 3DS version briefly and they spruced up that element, but playing the original version is a slog.
Majora's is fantastic though.
Hook, line, and sinker.
Some ass backwards thinking, but whatever, lol.
Really because when I played it on gamecube I basically had to force myself to play it.When I played OoT again on the 3DS I found the whole experience as infallible as it was originally. It's an impeccable game, one of the best there is.
The only 2D Zelda I've played through is LttP but I'll agree that it blows away the 3D ones. In particular I enjoy not having a fucking musical instrument that I have to input combos and watch an animation for at a regular basis.2D Zelda is where the true beauty of the franchise lies. Zelda 1, Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, Minish Cap -- all better than any of the 3D titles.
Up until today when joojoo signed up. Time to buy a xenforo license. It's worked just fine for over a decade. ;-)

to anyone who might care, I really recommend Dust Elysian Tail on xbla, brilliant metroidvania-esque game with awesome
combat and overall engrossing experience with a ton of care for every detail, don't let the anthropomorphic characters turn you off
Wrong. A Link To The Past is the best.Windwaker is best Zelda.
OOT doesn't really have any big problems, and Navi's annoyance factor is overstated, but every other game does something better.
MM has the save system, which is the only thing preventing it from being the best.
TP has the empty world and bizarre character design, but the dungeons are great.
SS is sadly outclassed at everything by the other games.
Yup. It recently took the top spot on my list, dethroning Link's Awakening.Wrong. A Link To The Past is the best.

Windwaker is best Zelda.
That's a shame. But yeah you definitely get used to it and stop losing track of him the more you know and master his moves. Playing on Though or higher (where one or two hit deaths can happen often out of nowhere) really makes you focus on what you're doing and the combat really shines. It's visually gorgeous and controls well, but - as I thought the case would be from the videos - the combat is too flashy for me. I keep losing track of what's going on amidst all the screen distortion, slashes and other effects. I'm sure you can get used to it but I have a hard time with games that go OP on stuff like that. I was looking forward to it, too.

But Connery isn't the best Bond.Link to the Past is to Zelda as Sean Connery is to Bond.
End of argument.
Couldn't agree more.Link to the Past is to Zelda as Sean Connery is to Bond.

I tried the demo too and agreed that it was a bit overtalkative, in fact the less a game can convey to me with words the better. Though what do you define as "too much furry weirdness"? Just the fact that the characters themselves are anthropomorphized animals?I tried the demo and only lasted a few minutes.
WAY too much furry weirdness for me and also way too much text talking. Way cool look but unfortunately I just couldn't get passed the weirdness.
Really because when I played it on gamecube I basically had to force myself to play it.

Thread on gaming side about the current crop of matchmaking based XP grinding multiplayer shooters.
I don't normally agree with TheSeks but this post was interesting and something I always thought would be beneficial overall in Halo. As great as stat tracking was on Bungie and now HXO it undeniably attributes to some shitty player practices.
*yawn*
Get rid of stats and I don't pick up a halo game again

With how terrible the Waypoint site is they might as well have already gotten rid of stats.
Although, they did bring on that new UI guy. What had he worked on? CoD Elite?
The belief that just server lists would work well for console gamers is erroneous. I imagine you could have a successful hybrid, but JUST lists would be fallow and frustrating. And it's not like they're a cavalcade of laughs in PC land.

You can still be competitive without stats. In fact, I'd say they do really little other than outlining your basics like spreads and weapon use. Analyzing replays is a much better tool for that. The stats in this case not being an advocation for abolishing a ranking system.*yawn*

I play a competitive game to be competitive. Like sports, statistics is how you gauge your skill and identify areas of improvement.
I don't play to be cordial. Or social for that matter.
I agree that having solely lists wouldn't work in the current console setup, since it's difficult to work around the fact that there's still a P2P host involved and what powers you imbue on them could be potentially awful in abusability. I mean, you give people on Steam the chance to use any image they want as an avatar and you see rare sightings of bad content. You give people a very limited option of icons to combine in Halo 3 and they still find a way to make a penis out of it.The belief that just server lists would work well for console gamers is erroneous. I'd love to have Waypoint, and built into the UI of the game. Some really nifty smart glass stuff would be great to see, too. Hopefully that's out before or near launch.

WW is the only 3D Zelda I really like. All the others have some sort of unforgivable flaw(s) that make it hard for me to enjoy. Barren over worlds, annoying babysitter sidekicks, crappy camera controls, etc.
