- Graphics need tweaking. Jaggies? still? And that ghosting is bordering on distracting

EDIT: So the servers are down?

This is GAF, next question.blurredvision said:Why do you guys care about the ratings so much? It's only a 2 week beta.

I play on a 42 inch hd tv and I can honestly say I have no idea what the fuck you are complaining about.
If you are gonna bitch about something, bitch (discuss) about gameplay. At least that has some benefit to the finished product.
DrBo42 said:Sword Base + Everyone on enemy team with Armor Lock = Complete fucking disaster. :lol WTF? I've literally had up to 2 minute stalemates with an enemy player because we both have armor lock and are using it back and forth.
Anyway yeah the jaggies and ghosting are bad but the gunplay feels pretty good. If I didn't see SPARTAN armor everywhere and that typical Halo environment art style, I'd be surprised it's a Halo game. It feels...different. Loadouts are great overall, like the new weapons, especially the DMR but this armor lock shit needs to be tweaked.
Agree. I've noticed very few IQ issues on my 32" set. Much, much better than Halo 3 (though I was never really bothered by the graphics in that game).Lead Based Paint said:God are you guys fucking serious? How hard are you looking for these "graphic flaws".

Mr. B Natural said:Yeah, it's not like Reach has an issue with 1 vs 1 battles lasting too long. Again, the main point of the armor lock is to hope that a third party comes and in and finishes off the job you started. Armor lock = "someone come in with full health and finish off this guy with his shield half down and focusing on me, please!" It's not exciting or fun, it's just silly. Thanks to the slowness of this game and the longevity of battles, there is already plenty of "opportunist gameplay" without the need of armor lock.
DrBo42 said:Eh? I don't usually bitch about graphics in games. If you stand still and switch to your pistol, watch your arms/pistol closely. It looks like the game is dropping frames but it's ghosting. At least on my TV that's what's happening.

I can't stand playing games with less than 10 people![]()
FunkyMunkey said:Why is there motion blur on the arms and guns in first-person? Isn't the blur supposed to be for far away surfaces when spinning/moving?
It's so distracting and unnecessary.
Not everything on screen. It should be based on distance.

eso76 said:motion blur has nothing to do with distance, though.
It should (and it is) based on how fast one object is moving across the screen. This is what happens in halo reach AND in Crysis.
If anything, things closer to the camera will indeed show more motion blur, since they will appear to move faster.
the bigger your tv, the bigger the iq problems. playing on a 42" lcd and the ghosting is horrible.GhaleonEB said:Agree. I've noticed very few IQ issues on my 32" set. Much, much better than Halo 3 (though I was never really bothered by the graphics in that game).

:lol I used to be a tester and I do editing work, so even slight stuff will catch my eye. I'm sorry. Overall I think the game looks good, but there are some weird things going on. Not saying it's a huge deal(although strange for such a high profile title), but it's there. Gameplay is fun so far so I guess that's all that matters in a beta.Lead Based Paint said:Why the hell are you watching your arms and the pistol? You should be looking for people to use those arms and pistol on. Its a silly thing to complain about.

Hold the Melee button when you attack from the back. I took down a guy lifting off with a jetpack that way. Jumped on his back, smacked his head against the ground. :lolMeus Renaissance said:Question. Sorry if its been asked loads of times.
But how do you do them context based melees?
