What's the point of bothering with skill weapons like the pistol and DMR when I can just chuck a grenade at someone when they have less than full shields and kill them instantly? Nah, like Dax said, I think that the damage dealt by guns is legitimate. One grenade shouldn't kill you if you have full shields with red health, though. Halo 3 had it perfect with a grenade knocking out your shields fully if you had full shields and killing you if you had less than half shields left. The damage done per-second by the laser rifle thing feels about right. If I can keep my reticule on your face for 2 seconds, you should be dead. Pistol should be 4 shots along with the DMR. That way, the nades aren't as overpowered and the game actually has some form of excitement to it.

A 1700 is just a really good game. It could be against peasants or it could be against pros, but the Rating doesn't have any interest in the Opponent Quality, it is a flat measurement of a game.

So, I agree that the nades are OP when playing the game. I just disagree with the solution to nerf them. Firefights in this game last too long and get dull because of it. To me, the guns should be as scary as the nades. Right now, it's pea shooter versus nade spam.
Due to the longevity of firefights and the weakness of regular weapons, power weapons are even more powreful than ever. Again, increasing damage done by regular weapons will calm that down a bit.
