Oh hey. Just me and my fusion core friend here.

What's that? You guys don't like fusion cores? You've made him mad! OH SHI-

Very interesting discovery I found at the dead end of an Invasion game that we lost.

Anyway, managed to finally go through my saved films and upload the best just for you guys. Wasn't able to put them all in my fileshare, so I just put them all on Youtube for easy access.

Best Spawn Ever.

No, you have to detonate it very close to them. Most of the kills in the Videos that have been posted are direct impact. I rarely ever bounce it, I toss those bitches into people's faces and detonate.

It's very very satisfying when you take out moving targets like Jetpack guys with a well timed explosive.

Oh god, they actually are keeping the fusion cores to end the Invasion matches? Or is that just placeholder? :lol :lol

They are used to kill Elites at the end. Its supposed to simulate the bombing the ass off the Covenant when Spartans win. :lol

I know, it's just that Bungie at one time talked about how they used a lot of Fusion Cores to simulate that, and that they might or might not have changed it.

I think the "fill the map with them and kill everything, including your Xbox" method was better than just one, though. :lol :lol

They should just have a load of CPU Spartans/ODST's come out of Camo and assassinate the surviving Elites. :D

Has anyone else experienced any problems watching saved films in the theater? Every time i try to watch a film at some point it freezes and I get kicked out. Anyone else experience this?

I don't even know if it's possible, but it might be cool if the Phantoms could actually put some suppression fire on the Spartans for each phase.

I think I worked out why I enjoy Invasion more than the other gametypes.

The map is large enough to not notice the stupid melee and grenade changes.
Seriously.. why couldn't they keep old melee

Might help balance the teams if the phantom hovering over the platform in phase 3 stopped the Spartans from camping the platform.

It would be cool if they did that but that the Spartans could also take them down. They have so much Anti Vehicle stuff, it would make more sense to give them a few more targets.

Hell, I would love Bungie to add some NPC soldiers to the mix. Just to spice things up. :D

I noticed a red fusion core too the other day, my elite respawned like the exact moment the spartan ships fly over to kill them at the end of invasion and one of those cores was right behind me, I don't remember if it blew up or had invisible explosions but I guess that the game uses them to kill the elites at the end of the round somehow.

Oops I see it's been said already.

Played a bunch of Invasion matches today.

I still love the gametype, but it's becoming more and more apparently just how much the deck is stacked against the Covenant. At each phase of the game, the loadouts for the Spartans are superior to those of the Covenant. Invasion Slayer feels especially unbalanced.

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the game will be tweaked before launch. I love the idea - it just needs to be rebalanced. Personally, I feel like removing the shotgun loadout would help a lot. I hesitate to say that the shotgun is overpowered, but it definitely feels overpowered as a weapon you can spawn with.

Bring it! :D

On the subject of the grenade launcher, does the grenade have to travel through the air a certain distance before it arms. I swear I shoot right at guys at close range and the grenade bounces right through them and explodes behind them.

Oh, and whats the best youtube channel to search for Halo: Reach strategies and techniques?

I wonder if the voice indicator (icon by name, or displayed name) is messed up for the beta. I've gotten Trash Talking feedback, and I haven't had my mic on.

Eh, its frustrating, but I clean up on assists. I always have twice as many assists as anyone else in the game

I had a game of slayer pro earlier tonight where i used mostly the DMR and ended with 14 assists :lol

I seem to just have a problem with the DMR and being able to finish people off before they escape or get behind cover, i don't know if it's just me being rubbish or if it's the length of time that it takes to accurately 5 shot someone.

Also my arena rank has still not shown up in-game or in my profile, isn't the requirement to getting ranked just that you need to play 3 arena matches on 3 different days in a season? I had done that after the games i played last night and i still don't see it (it's been over 24 hrs since that point).

I would enjoy some sort of mode where npcs were thrown in. Maybe some sort of L4D/Firefight hybrid. Am I asking for too much? :lol I probably am. I can dream can't I? Oh please let Network Test 1 be some epic NPC + multiplayer mode!

AI wouldnt be able to keep up and would probably just get in the way, I am looking forward to Firefight though. :D

(Seriously, I would feel sorry for the poor guy who gets AI on his team, he would be better off alone!)

Well the AI would mainly be fodder for everyone. Killing AI wouldn't exactly net you the same points as killing a human player.

The left side of the Elite spawn in vanilla invasion is beyond ridiculous. It is a straight shot with virtually no cover. I have spawn killed and been spawn killed here. You have no choice on the matter. If the games wants to spawn you on the left, it does.

There is a piece of cover near the Spartan base that, for whatever reason, is turned sideways. This is like a 600 lb man trying to hide behind a telephone pole. More cover could definitely be added to the left, imo.

It has nothing to do with what you're actually saying, it's just because some sore loser decided to give you bad feedback. I do it all the time. Makes me feel good about myself.

And a massive "LOL" at Bungie for their quitting ban. Halo is serious business, apparently. Nothing's gonna stop people from quitting, especially if you're being forced to play a shitty gametype on a shitty map. I guess MW2 has spoiled me, but jeez, at least give me the option of backing out if the pregame lobby. Because when I inevitably quit, my former teammates are the players who suffer most, not me. Or get with the times and include join-in-progress, cause there's no way I'm staying for Stockpile on Swordbase.

Well then they will be banned, so they can have fun waiting 15-30 minutes between matches.

My Stats are such a travesty, but I will have played my 400th game by tonight. If you put an Xbox in an apartment with 4 dudes during finals this is what happens, it's a great stress release after studying. The beta also works as a great excuse to procrastinate.

My only two critisims about Invasion are:
  • The computer territories during the first phase of Invasion needs to be labled (Maybe A and B). It's so hard to tell your battle bros which territory needs more attention.
  • It's also unnecessarily difficult to figure out the difference between friendly or enemy vehicles. I might of read this was a bug and it's being fixed but I'm not entirely sure. Almost every time I see a friendly banshee I always think its an enemy

found where they keep the weapons on invasion...

I had the laser thing, by the time I charged it the Banshee was right in my face

See, I feel the opposite, quitters can burn in hell for all I care, they ruin good matches and make playing on your own quite frustrating.
Happy to see Bungie finally attempt to properly address this.

I'll start offering lessons if you really need 'em. It's gonna cost you, though.

What's he doing that is so hard? Aiming at people standing still and charging straight at you isn't hard. Get a DMR and poop on him from miles across the map and see how much of a savant he is. :lol
Somebody sounds like they don't got skillz for a weapon. Jealous much?

Not a massive fan of invasion OR Boneyard to be honest.

Such a mess of a map. All over the place. For such a big map, it has almost ZERO open space, I don't even know how that's possible.

I really hope the Retail game has a Valhalla/Blood Gulch type map. Invasion REALLY needs it.

Headhunter is definitely the discovery of this game. Amazingly fun mode, and team Headhunter needs a run in the BETA STAT!!!

I look forward to your next insight.

Quitters are not good with Halo, a team based game.

I hate you and hope you enjoy your ban(s).

Quitters are the scum of the earth and deserve every punishment possible.

And join-in-progress is a shitty solution. All it leads to is getting thrown into a game when the other team has an insurmountable lead with all the power weapons and good positions. One of the big reasons I stopped playing MW2 a long time ago.

first I thought the quitter ban was an useless idea, but this convinces me otherwise.

I know this is complicated for most, but if you stay in the game AFTER the first game is over, you get to start fresh. As long as the game you joined half-way through doesn't count for your w/l ratio, it's a better and the ONLY solution to quitters in games.

^ If you stop and think for half a second, you will realize that it IS a useless idea that will not work.

The best part of the quitting ban? When you get pooped on and ragequit you're gonna get banned from matchmaking for awhile :lol
