I don't understand how armor lock is beneficial. Once u activate couldn't they just plant a nade at your feet and time it to explode when u come out of AL?

I only played a few quick games as I'm supposed to be working but I must agree with Ghaleon regarding the jumping. I'm what I would consider a Halo game jumper. It all stemed from all of the shortcuts from Lockout since Halo2. The way you jump in Reach feels like gravity is amplied 1.5x and your jump is so much shorter and the way down is so much faster. This will take a lot of getting used to on my part.

Also trying to learn that melee is now on the right thumper isn't working for me. I'm too used to the B button being the melee. I'm too old to change... :lol

That's what I've done multiple times already. But it sucks when one of his teammates comes in and finishes you off while you hang around.

I don't hate the game. I'm simply jarred at how different it feels to play. Gun play aside - which I think is very weak - I may grow on it, and even love it. I'm mostly just shocked at how different it is and not sure what to think yet.

good for team games, good for vehicle encounters, good for balancing the odds (it will take out enemies shields if they're close enough)

Are you out of your ever-loving mind? Halo 3 destroys Halo 2. I'm hoping the jump from Halo 3 to Reach provides at least as much improvement as the jump from Halo 2 to Halo 3.

Exactly. People were terrified that this ability would be overpowered, but it was pretty clear from the start that the fact that it renders you immobile means its no more useful than a bubble-shield all things considered.

Great ability in team modes though. If you have back up, armor lock is probably great.

I felt the same way at first, but it has grown on me immensely already. I think you just need wait for adjustment.
