DMR has a small recital on it's first shot (or with no bloom)

I wouldn't say that I'm not a fan. I'm just really hyper-sensitive to all of the issues that the game has and it's difficult to see past them and just enjoy it.

And yeah, I played some damn good people over this past weekend. My brother actually beat Pistola in a game of Covy Slayer. Out-Needled him like 3 times.

Finally got a game in, but now I have to go to work :lol

I did pretty well though. I don't even know what map I was on -- aesthetically, it looked like Zanzibar. I just chose the Scout each time to get accustomed to it. It was 4 on 4 slayer. I died 4 times and killed 10 people, so I think I did pretty well for my first time. ^_^

Crud, apparently 2 of my 3 arena games that I did okay in (1650, 1550, 1525) didn't count, and they're not on bungie.net.

You don't get it. It's not the one shot kill = death that I'm curious about, its the fact that in any given situation or context, whether I am flying or jumping or running, the opponent gets a headshot. What are the odds of that? I've never seen accuracy like that. I must have died 11 times and 10 times I was killed with a headshot from DISTANCE

So, are these server issues preventing people from actually getting into a game? Or is it all back-end, stats-related stuff that's getting all clogged up?

'cause I was just thinking about hopping on for a few games. Want to try out the Arena... With a party!... *winknudge*... *throws blunt objects at Trasher 'n' Nutter*

It's a little bit of both. You can play by yourself but it won't count the stats. If you try to play with a party it will either let you play and not count or it won't let you play at all.
 
Man, I'm having a lot more fun than in Halo 3. AA are fucking awesome. :D

The game look so much better than H3 too. Finally some king of aniso filtering. The motion Blur is really nice too. Nice work Bungie, I wil play this game in multiplayer.
 
None of my arena games are posting. I've played like 10 and it still says I've only played 2. Sad face. I'm consistent, at least, always between 1500-1600.

Yeah, this is why the achivement is so impressive imo, they've added lots of new effects and technology and yet they haven't cut a single feature from Halo 3, and they didn't sacrifice the resolution/framerate/af/aa to do it. What more could people have been expecting? They've answered everyone's complaints with Halo 3, kept all that was good and then added more on top.

Onto the actual game, I'm pretty pleased so far. Really like the headhunter game type, I'm pleased the auto aiming melee is gone (though maybe it shouldn't have been nerfed quite as much) and the loadouts seem to work quite well. Grenades need nerfing though.

Reach is a much more precision driven game than any other title in the series. The DMR and Pistol are very accurate from across the map. On the flip side, there is less auto-aim, it takes longer to whittle shields down (though that's not an issue on SWAT) and there's the recticule bloom.

Bottom line is, if you're playing SWAT you can get donged on from across the map with the Pistol and DMR. Which is kind of what SWAT is all about, so I'd put that one in the plus column.


394,989 unique players at 2:00. Ramping up pretty fast now.
 
FUCK. Turns out downloading it using someone elses account isn't good enough, and now I'm being forced to download the public beta using my account to play it.

That's 1.15gb of my 20gb quota WASTED for 4 games. Just what I get for playing early :(

Am I able to copy someones beta files using a USB and booting those files through ODST?

I've been having some fun with the game, I have some good games and some pretty awful ones, but it's fun.

GT is JUDDERMANG if anyone wants to party up when the servers get fixed.

It's hitscan. So it's not hard to line up the headshot, even on a sprinter. Keep at it.

I love the pistol in SWAT. It's such a perfect secondary for when you're in a close battle and your Donger runs out of ammo.

Once you get your 3 games in things will get better.

Eg. 1500, 1550, 1200 are what you get for the first 3 matches. Average is 1416. However if your 4th match was 1600 then your rating would be 1550.
 
And the frustration begins! Can not land any kills or getting killed by the same guy over and over again but can not see why. I am missing a bit feedback, because I am doing the same stuff as he does but I die faster.

May be not related to the Beta now ofc.
 
Played a couple of matches and after the 4th the game was saving stats and crashed, now back to data pending download.
 
I'm surprised how dodge and the covy sniper seem like they are right out of UT. Nades are a bit powerful and the covy sniper doesnt need to be a sniper, just get rid of the zoom.

Still looking for people to play with! :D
 
Is there a way for normal people to launch the game right from the dashboard, or will I have to load up ODST everytime I want to play Reach? And if not,
can I get a code
