Say I opened up the casing of the PS2 controller--how hard would it be to get to the face buttons? Has anyone here done it?

I have, its real easy. Just don't lose them.

Not that I recall, no. I lost my L1 button for like 2 months. That sucked.

The DS2 is actually pretty hard to put together properly after opening it (compared to all previous controllers I've tinkered with). The shoulder buttons have a tendency to misalign when you close the thing, giving the buttons a mute feel. I usually have to try more times than my patience can handle before they all align properly... It's worth it though.

Tell it that the Dualshock 3 is just around the corner, that it's not nearly as comfortable as the GCN or XBox-S, and that quite frankly, it's an old man just two more diaper changes away from a nursing home, SO SHAPE THE HELL UP!
