Has anybody else noticed this? (DS)

Formerly 'GMUNYIFan'
I've been using the Nintendo DS alarm clock feature for the past week or so, and every time I set it and tell it to begin it says "Would you like the Rumble feature to accompany the alarm?" The first time I saw it I said to myself, Holy shit this thing has rumble on it? Well I've come to notice that it does NOT in fact rumble when the alarm goes off......so why is that little message there? My system is in great shape....please tell me that my DS is not broken and that none of urs rumble either.

Are you sure it says that? I've used my ds for an alarm clock before as well and don't recall it asking me that... I'll look more closely next time.

Well considering I quoted the entire question word for word, and I started a thread because of it.....I'm pretty sure it says that.

i've never seen that message. The only thing message i get after going to the alarm is the one asking if i want to turn the alarm on now.

you have the best DS in the world and I would like to buy it from you for 1600

A quick google search reveals that you have a flash cart inserted. There's an ability for later carts to rumble, so it knows that ahead of time.

While on the subject of DS "secrets", holding L, R, and select and then pressing start resets some games back to the title screen. This works with Mario 64.

You have a blank flash card inserted. Old news. \

Got a flash card.....but it ain't blank. So apparently for you it's NEW news. Flash cart doesn't need to be blank in order for this to happen. Some good dev stuff on the card atm.

Isn't that the same as the GBA's soft reset? Or did that involved holding A+B too? I remember accidentally resetting my GBA trying to button mash my way through the credits of Advance Wars, after FINALLY clearing The Final Battle, and resetting my system, thus making me clear it a second time :(

Odd. Mine says "What the hell are you using me as your alarm for? Afford a clock, cheapskate!"

No flash cart, though. Weird.

i know it's a joke but that's like saying "why use a PSP as a music player?" i have the means, and when the DS is nearby, it does the job.

I actually prefer my DS to my alarm clock. Music doesn't always work to wake me up, so I use the horrid beep on my clock normally, while the DS actually has a relatively pleasant sound that slowly increases in volume. Snooze also requires opening the DS, so I am less likely to use it, and the snooze increments are 7 minutes instead of the usual 10 on every alarm clock I have used. Plus, it's more likely that I'll have a DS on me than a portable alarm when I travel.

I actually have used the DS more for its alarm fuction than for DS games (at least since I finished Mario).

How do you get it to snooze? What model do you have?
