I wish Atlus didn't artificially create demand for it's products by discontinuing their products so quickly. Not that i'd buy these games, but it seems to me to just be a gimmick. I know their position is "Well hey if you trade it in you'll get full credit for it" which is a pretty dumb stance if you ask me...

We probably wouldn't see these games in the U.S. at all, if this business model wasn't so safe.

PSP version is the definitive one. They added a new side story and some other goodies.

wow i love this thread! Buy Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness everyone, its great. Laugh at the story, become attached to the characters, dive into the ocean of gameplay. But just a little at first. Don't want to get agoraphobic looking down too soon and seeing how much there is out there.

I am slow at these things but I still trip up on new gameplay wrinkles after pushing on 600 hours of play across D1 / D2 and AoD, still so much satisfaction there. One of the few games which makes me envious when I hear people about to experience it for the first time

the game's been discontinued since around early december or mid-late november, if I recall right. I picked up a used copy as soon as I found one after I found out.

What's interesting is that they totally redid Etna's voice recordings (and for the better).

atlus must of done a reprint when they closed down their shop last month and switched to amazon.

I thought about this thread earlier this week when I saw about 20 copies at my local Best Buy, and later that day saw 5 new copies on the wall at Gamestop.

Out of print? Really? It may be, but it certainly isn't hard to find.

pretty sure it was reprinted seeing as how amazon was out of stock for weeks and then the game suddenly became available at amazon again once atlus started using them as their online store.

I agree. 20 copies showing up at a Best Buy definitely sounds like a reprint.
