Private prisons have become the new growth industry. You will construct and run an efficient rehabilitation facility with nothing but money on your mind. There's no escaping under your watchful eye as you oversee every detail of prison life. Start from the ground up placing the very walls and fences that will house and contain your prisoners. Choose from multiple isolated environments and get to work. Begin with a low security prison and build it up to a maximum security facility for the world's most dangerous criminals. Expertly staff your prison with wardens, guards, cooks, and rehabilitation experts. Carefully balance your budget, maintain prisoner morale, and minimize the potential for financial meltdown. Determine the overall security level of your lockdown, but beware! Too harsh a prison will create a dangerous environment and could spark prisoner riots. Too lenient an approach will result in rampant gang activity. In Prison Tycoon, crime doesn't pay... but justice does!

you have spoken and the industry has listened!

Features:

* Manage prisoner sentences from time off for good behavior to rehabilitation training

* Hire and control your prison staff

* Set up and run prison industries

* Influence prisoner morale by creating inmate activities, breaking up fights, and handling gang problems

* Establish your facility's reputation as the ultimate correctional institution

...the game "too browns" demanded!

But no denying prisoners food and privileges when they won't assassinate another inmate for you?

No "hot instant coffee substitute" where your guards get to sleep with female inmates (making sure they avoid cleverly placed razor blades while doing so?)

No sending the 19 year old black car thief to the side of the exercise yard where the Aryan Brotherhood hangs out because of his "excessive sass?"

hmmmm.... christ... I think you just sold this game to me. :D

"Do you promise to tell a jury everything you told me tonight?"

"Just give me that chance."

*signals the sniper*

but what will you do when the brother of an inmate comes to your prison, the brother that just so happens to have DESIGNED THE PRISON!

"Nobody can break out of here!"

scofield001.jpg

"You can if you built the place!"

Lmao, I still don't get them getting the goahead with that one :lol

Seems fox would approve anything

:lol I thought the same thing. A recent preview explained though that a recent business partner designed the prison, and he saw the blueprints.

That is a suprisingly good idea. Perhaps the next GTA game could revolve around escaping prisons... *rubs chin intelligently*

Is this the guy for that short lived FOX TV show, John Doe?

Don't know, but he's Drake from Blade Trinity and he's in the new Prison Break show on Fox called... Prison Break.

EDIT: just checked yeah he was also in John Doe, but don't forget he was also in the incredible Jet Li/Mel Gibson co-produced(IIRC) Invincible! I have a soft spot for the mini-series even though it was really.... bad.

That show will be so lame, I have no idea how they're going to stretch it for more than 4 episodes, unless each episode is about 10 minutes long.

As for Prison Tycoon, no rapes and no bribes? No sale.

too bad they're not on HBO, they could do what OZ did and just fill the other 40 minutes with manrape.

hmmmmm... manrape....

(T_T)

You know, I had any idea for a Sim Prison a while back... guess quite a few folks had that idea! I personally think there's potential. Hell, there's a popular prison show, right?

It would be interesting to build a very homely prison but with very fascist rules.

"Tea time everyone!"
"Oh..Hector..you don't like to drink tea?"
"Oh..that's..too bad.."
"Bubba..go stick your penis in that man."

"...and put hot tea on your dick."

it's a fictional setting...

"private prisons have become a new growth industry"

Nice to see racial hypocrisy lives on through your bigoted post
I'm gonna be honest and admit I'm not too sure what you mean.
If you're saying that I don't know self-proclaimed rednecks who, by their ways of speech, probably would plunk down money on a game to let them live out their fantasies of being abusive to prisoners of other races (I don't know what Prison Tycoon is capable of, and it's probably not, but even if someone gets the idea in their head that it's capable and buys the game with those desires, that's bad enough in my mind) then you're wrong. I grew up in an area inhabited with people I'm not proud to have known in my life, that's all.

it should state... "Private prisons have been the cornerstone industry of America..."

OK, I think the game is funny, but how could you possibly be a Tycoon? Prisons are run by the government.

you can purchase stock in prisons...

Private Prisons
Another player in the matrix of interests referred to as the prison industrial complex is the fast-growing and powerful private prison industry which now controls around 10 percent of all U.S. prison beds. Though private jailers are generally profitable, they don't lower the costs of incarceration for state governments. What savings are achieved through corner cutting—that is: removing all amenities and services and hiring unqualified guards —is usually absorbed by the company as profit. Already this modus operandi of the bottom line is showing itself to be detrimental for the long-term profitability of some big private jailers, as we will see below.
Through assiduous cultivation of state officials, the private jailers are increasingly active in shaping criminal justice policy, but their partnerships with state governments also face problems. Recent events have unveiled private jailers as cheats, liars and major political liabilities.
The biggest of the most recent blemishes on the private gulag's image was the mass escape at Corrections Corporation of America's Youngstown, Ohio, prison. That joint—supposed to be a medium security lockup—was a hyper-violent overcrowded facility illegally packed with maximum security inmates from D.C.

hmmm not as fantasy as it would seem...
