Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

Update : Got Dreamy Theatre 2nd working + 46/46 Songs unlocked, AND it works on my US PSN account in case I get trophies :)

:D

unlocked on all difficulties ? the game won't unlock the difficulties for you when you complete the songs.
Just saying in case you want to try for the extreme difficulty trophy.

NOW they are, I'm actually still playing PJD2 just to get the last few costumes paid for. They're all unlocked, I just can't afford em all yet :)

There's a few Weekly Diva Station updates I can't fully make sense of, but here's a quick one: a few more store bonuses were revealed today. Per miyuki, the artwork in the bonuses suggest at a few songs that have not been announced yet:

  • "Yubikiri" by scop
  • "Blackjack" by yucha-P
  • "Knife" by rerulili
As always, this should not be taken as a guarantee these songs are present in the game.

Star, any news about that big controller being compatible with the new game? Still want to buy one and the prices are only going up D:

I've heard absolutely nothing on that front.

If it doesn't work, there's a chance we can make it work, though it might involve swapping out the touch panel entirely. We're not going to know what will be involved, if anything, until the game comes out.

Interesting.
This week's Famitsu reveals Yubikiri and Clover Club are in the game. So I would imagine your hunch for Blackjack and Knife is correct too.

Yes please, I love to play Blackjack.

Anyone know if there is a YouTube playlist with the soundtrack or so?

I hope Clover Club isn't in... That song got stuck in my head after playing it on DT2

So Diva F2 for Vita, they added that native res will be applied to some modes but not all, oh well...
IMO they can at least improve UI and such.

Well judging from the demo, Vita F 2nd definitely looks better than the first. Not sure about native res, but lighting is definitely improved, and there appears to be some focus blur effect going on in Romeo & Cinderella, which I don't remember seeing in the previous game.

I'm in the UK and ordered Project Diva F from an eBay seller, After about 5 weeks it still hasn't arrived. Got a full refund today with no hassle thankfully.
I was looking around and couldn't find a copy anywhere until I realized it was in stock on Amazon UK. Sold by Amazon too, not fulfilled or a 3rd party seller. Is it common for them to move stock from US to UK? Either way, if anyone wants a boxed version in the UK for slightly less than the SEN Store asking price here's the link.

So I bought Miku Miku Hockey 2.0 and played with it for a bit.

For those wondering, it's an AR game of table hockey for PS Vita, featuring Hatsune Miku. The original version of the game was a free PS+ game exclusive to members. This new version 2.0 can be purchased by anyone (but PS+ members get a 50% discount).

Different modes are: Spectacle (Miku plays against Mikudayo), Practice (you play against Miku for 5 points), Adhoc (local multiplayer, obviously), and settings where you can spend points into stats (not sure how they come into play), and change Miku's costume. You get a bunch of costumes unlocked as you play the game, each one comes with its own trophy.

Technical-wise the game is a mess, the audio keeps stuttering. It's cute (it uses the same MMD model as in some of those Mitchie M videos), but definitely not worth 1050 yen. And probably not worth making a new thread about it either.

Back from Katsucon (with a not-quite-working-right DIVA controller after being set up in the game room, but that's another story), here are some Weekly Diva Station updates I missed:

2/17 - Happy Birthday, KAITO! The customary wallpaper has been uploaded; click through to the article for more resolution options:

2/14 - Finally announcing the Rin/Len mini controller from Hori. No mention of the bigger controller as far as I can tell, but the article reiterates the controller is Horistore exclusive and limited quantity, unlike the previous controller.

2/13 - Finished module for DECORATOR and new song announcements, though we already knew about the songs from the usual Famitsu leaks.

Here's the finished module for DECORATOR:

And the images for Yubikiri and Clover Club (click through to article for full size images):

I recently (finally) bought Project Diva F and I'm pretty amazed by it.
It's pretty hard and I wish the Lag Input option was more like the one in Rock Band or Guitar Hero, but oh well...

Currently working on creating a video for Childish War by Giga-P. I really love the editor in this game. So many possibilities and so easy to use!

Is the second game confirmed for a western release yet?

Sakura no Ame and Blackjack confirmed this week.
Wow, Sakura no Ame in after all? That's huge! The song has been completely MIA since the first game on PSP, not even making it into the Dreamy Theater expansion.

Has anyone been counting how many songs that is that are confirmed/semi-confirmed? Do we have the entire list now?

No, not yet. They're focused on releasing f for Vita first before they evaluate the viability of releasing F 2nd here.

When I bugged SEGA about further DLC pricing info on their forum I got this:

If you pick up a $20 card, you'll be able to afford all the available DLC at launch. (Extra Songs + Snow Miku + Extra Characters) Hope this helps!

So yay for that!

The existing DLC adds up to $5.98, so that means the extra songs can be at most $14.02. That's a fair bit less expensive than the 3000 yen price tag they demand in Japan.

Then it's probably $9.99. I don't think anyone expected this to be close to the Japanese pricing. That would have been almost as much as the price of the full game.

So far it's exactly half and half new songs vs PSP remakes.

Real quick this morning:

3/6 Weekly Diva Station update: at the last minute, a live streaming event, MATSURI DA DIVA, was announced. It will take place on niconico at 3/9 6:00 PM (Japan time).

Also, I just happened to notice these images on the @pjd_sega account:

I'm not sure why the DP values are different between the two images, but I think this is the best look at the new help/challenge item system in F 2nd so far. As we knew, multiple help or challenge items can be used at once - up to three, it seems. The bottom left seems to indicate what effect the selected combination of items will have on your DP earnings. We can also read the names of the items available. The challenge items shown are:
  • Shy Target
  • Cool Master S
  • High Speed
  • Micro Notes (?)
  • Panic

  • Shy Target

  • Panic
There's a description of some of them on Impress Watch's write up of the event:
http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20140310_638834.html

Challenge items:
Panic - the notes fly on to the screen from crazy directions.
Micro notes - the notes are smaller
High speed - the notes fly on much quicker

Help items:
Safety judge - the timing on hitting notes is more relaxed
Recovery - if your song energy gauge hits 0 it will be refreshed once

Don't think there were any song revelations that I could see, but the setlist for the music performances was:

Part 1: The singers behind the vocaloids
ピアノ×フォルテ×スキャンダル - meiko's real singer
ヒカリ - meiko's real singer
千年の独奏歌 - kaito's real singer
on the rocks - meiko & kaito's real singers
DECORATOR - all the singers

Part 2: Hatsune Miku vocaloid
Project DIVA desu.
エンヴィキャットウォーク
glow
Tell Your World
39
Last Night, Good Night
ワールドイズマイン

I wonder how they're going to fit all that content in the Vita version. The first game plus the Extra pack was already very close to 4 gigs. The sequel is planned to have more songs, and all modules from the previous game plus at least as many new ones.

Then again I have never seen any concrete proof that there is really a 4 gig limit on Vita games, it appears to be mostly speculation.

PSO2 is nearly 9 GB, so if there's a limit as far as digital software goes, it's somewhere north of that. The game card itself was only around 4 GB and required a ~2 GB download on top of that at launch, so if there is a 4 GB limit, it refers strictly to the capacity of the game cards - which should go up over time.

Did not think 炉心融解 would be the last classic song. I like it as a track on it's own, but didn't think it would be the last with ココロ already in.

As for space issues, I thought it was mentioned somewhere that either edit mode or diva room would be a separate download, not on the cart.

Edit: unfortunate timing for 炉心融解 announcement if true.

PSN blog post reports that Miku Vita should be up on EU PSN today (and for a much cheaper than expected price), but still no sign of it on the actual store. The free DLC is there though, weirdly.

Interesting, I was at Katsucon as well. I even cosplayed as Len Kagamine for a short time w/ keytar and light-up headset.

I did preorder Project Diva F 2nd. Had a hard time deciding between PS3 or Vita version. I'm getting both regardless one day.

In Vita version of Diva F can you change the star touch controls back to the analog stick?
Considering a purchase, but tried the demo and I keep missing the stars because of these controls.
