Hatsune Miku Project Diva series general discussion thread

Plat get on PS3 version. It took 49 hours 35 minutes

I wouldn't say my life has ended thanks to miku but it sure has changed ive never been so obsessed about a game since i got project diva f in march for my vita. I loved the game so much i even imported project diva f 2nd a week later. its not just the games ive even became attach to miku herself within the past month ive bought 3 wall-scrolls of her and i bought 5 figures of miku and i even bought a psp with all the previous games in the series.

I basically brought the game on a whim because I love rythim games, for the first 3-5 hours I was worried that I had made a mistake, I just couldn't get used to the voices.

Now I have over 60 hours played on Project Diva f and find myself listening to concerts and songs while at the PC or via my phone, and Project Diva f 2 is one of my most wanted games of the year.

I'm still not sure if buying Project Diva f was an amazing use of 30 euros or an huge mistake.

Ugh, I didn't realize that for the Platinum in F 2nd you needed to grind requests (around 65?)
I'm at 32... And fulfilling them is pretty much the only thing I still need to really do, trophy-wise (all my remaining required unlocks).

I guess it's time for a lot of I'll Miku-Miku You (For Reals)

At 60 hours, at least you got your money's worth. Could have been much worse (you aren't buying merch, for example)

I got PDf on a whim as well. Fun, but about 10h in and I still can't get used to it. "Cool" timing window must be within 10ms or something, and those stupid touch-only notes still drive me insane.

Having more fun with Project Mirai 2 tbh, it's more satisfying on either touch or button mode.

I can't find the post from earlier in the thread, but: for the touch notes the timing is based on when you take your finger off the screen.

In my experience this means learning to make short scratch motions - really more like flipping a switch back and forth.

Edit: I stand corrected. See below.

Project diva f2nd is amazing you will love it, and buying project diva f wasn't a waste since you like the game.

... but I don't lift my finger off the screen for scratches at all...

Was curious if there was a thread for this series.

Anyways, I picked up Project F after MomoCon and I am enjoying the game very much. Due to how demanding it is, I still cannot pass songs more than 4 stars. Still enjoying the game and playing the tougher songs on Easy.

Cant wait for Miku 2! Got Miku 1 import from Japan 2 years ago because at the time I was craving for more Vita games, it was awesome(and hard) with a good song selection, nevertheless me and my bros earned the Platinum trophy on it. I'm contemplating on picking up the NA PS3 version as well before Miku 2.

For this summer, my most anticipated rythm game is IA/VT, it looks colorful, people need to check it out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvy5XEwTTBo

I wonder if I should import IA/VT Colorful. It's published by Marvelous so the chances that Xseed will pick it up are high, but then again it may have licensing issues we don't know about.

Anyway let's wait and see.

Not sure what the thread situation for the series is really. This thread predates the localized versions of F and F 2nd, when there weren't really enough fans of the series to justify multiple threads for everything. F has its own thread made for the localized release, where I had thought all not-import talk would move to, but people just eventually migrated back here anyway, at least until we start the cycle all over again when we get closer to F 2nd's international release.

I guess I see this thread as more of an import news thread than a discussion thread. There just naturally isn't much news since we're between releases right now.

I absolutely got my money worth out of the purchase, I'm more worried about all the time I spent playing the game when I should had been working on college projects.

And the timing of the release of Project Diva f2nd (fall) will likely present me the same issue.

I just recently discovered that my extra character DLC that I bought for F2nd now lets me get it for F for free.

Would really like some DLC songs for F2nd but I guess it was about 6 months after F came out that DLC showed up so I guess it will be a few more months.

Ugh, this F 2nd plat...
75 requests so far, and still no damn clock.

Edit: 78 requests and it finally unlocked. Now I just gotta use some gadgets I forgot about.

I found myself shadowplaying Romeo and Cinderella (Project Mirai 2) with my Xbox controller while watching the video on youtube.

I really hate the fact that the 3DS is region locked.

That's not a good idea considering the Xbox controller doesn't follow the 3DS's button mappings.

Yes, that crossed my mind, but seeing as I'm not actually going to play the game until I get enough money to import a 2DS (Since that's the cheapest), I wasn't too worried.

Plus, easy to take in account if I really get that desesperated again.

I own a JP 3DS and have had the game since release and I'm -still- fighting Xbox controller muscle memory every time I try to play it. It's so bad that I pretty much gave up and reconfigured the game to show me arrows instead of button labels. Don't go down that road.

Use an SNES controller or a DS if you absolutely have to, at least those have the correct button labels.

Unless it's happened recently, Japan doesn't have the 2DS yet. I had similar plans when the 2DS was first announced...

I'm heading over there in a few months, and I'll be picking up a cheap 3DS along with both Mirai games, among other things. Super bummed out that I have to do that to play Japanese games, but I've been wanting them for a while :(

Don't bother getting the first, the second has all the content of the first in it.

Yeah, unless you are a collector dont buy the first mirai game. Mirai 2 has all the songs(with same PV) and gameplay is much much better imho.

I rather just stop shadowplaying Youtube videos, I should try to do something better with my time.

So I can get money and import a 3DS and Project Mirai 2.

Though thanks for the advice.

Ah yes, you're right, I forgot all about that.

Yeah, it's ridiculous, also frustated I missed the region-free hack due to me upgrading my firmware.

Well, about that...

Seriously, thanks for letting me know :) Money will be tight no doubt so I'll just go for the second game. At least for now, anyway!

Anyone know if 2nd F's English release is getting physical copies? I already imported the Japanese Vita version but I'll gladly triple dip for EN PS3 and Vita.

"One of the primary comments we saw across the internet over the last year was that PS3 owners loved their physical copies, and that so many PS Vita owners wished one was available. We begin our campaign today by announcing that whichever platform you own, you’ll be able to reserve a physical copy of Diva F 2nd when it releases!"

(North America only as far as I can tell.)

Yep, excited for it.

I'm pretty sure EU gets retail this time too, but someone else will have to dig up a source for that as I'm out and about.

I believe this is what you are referring too http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/03/25/project-diva-f-2nd-coming-eu/

And finally, because we like good news, I’ll drop a hint here that we have some fun stuff in the works for our European release. I’m pleased to confirm one of those things right now: We will be releasing a packaged version of the game for both PS3 and PS Vita!

Rhythm games are a genre I rather just have as digital download to play now and then. I end up playing them a lot less when I need to go around changing carts/discs.

We were fiddling around with games on that montionflow option on Sony Bravia tv's. We gave it a shot with 2nd. Wish these games were 60 FPS :( When it works, it's pretty damn cool to see though there are noticeable slow downs every so often depending the song played.

What's this? Miku expo coming to the US... and to my home city no less???

http://mikuexpo.com/

Same weekend as Above and Beyond Group Therapy 100 and a wedding but I'm gonna see if I can secure tix for the Friday show. Hopefully this means Luka will be there!

Thinking of getting LA tickets for my wife & I since the show is on her birthday. I'll have to bust ass to make the trip work and keep it a surprise, but I'm going to do my best.

I've played ridiculous amounts (hundreds of hours) of both PDf/F and PDF 2nd and still don't have the platinum trophy. Why? The Diva room bores me to tears and I can't be assed to give gifts and do arbitrary stuff a gazillion times. A shame too because if I gave it 2-3 hours, I'll probably complete everything. I have ridiculous amounts of Diva points in the bank.

I haven't even touched the Diva room in PDF 2nd yet.

That's how I played the PSP entries, and once I got their Dreamy Theater versions I never touched the PSP games again.

On the flipside, I did everything on PDf's Diva Room. Little by little, every few songs so I didn't have to burn myself out giving 100s of presents in one go. Eventually I unlocked that platinum.

Ugh, hasn't there already been a Miku show in LA?

I can't help but being salty by the fact that they're doing this whole "vote for your city" thing, and the first winner turns out to be the only goddamn city outside of Asia that has already had a Miku show there in the first place.

I mean, come on!!

All the VIP seats got taken up immediately so wondering if I should bother now since I was at the last LA show.

Why wouldn't you go? A lot changes in three years, and this looks to be a bigger show than the last one. Orchestra seating seems to be pretty close to the standing section at Nokia too if I'm looking at this seating chart correctly.

Mostly flying in from Austin which is a bit of a big cost. I think I'll just buy anyways and give my ticket to someone else if I can't go.

Okay, now I'm really confused where the standing sections are in the LA show. I'm having a hard time reconciling that seating chart with the one on the Miku Expo site:

im4ZDat.png

I guess orchestra seats are the "Miku Love Area" but does that mean the VIP standing area is just really, really tiny or did they remove chairs from the normal orchestra layout to make it? I can't even see where it would be in the ticket order image!
